LANG, Robert Bruce (Bob)
Long time employee of Bell Canada and devout member of St. Stephen's United Church. Bob enjoyed his many years in the choir and serving on church boards. Bob was very active in Scouting and enjoyed a love of music and camping with family and friends. Passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family at The Wynfield Nursing Home on Saturday, December 9th, 2006 at the age of 79 years. Bob beloved husband of Muriel (nee Heaslip). Loving father of Terry (Linda) Lang, Tom (Meredith) Lang, Jeff (Susan) Lang, Cindy (Peter) Bathe, Joe (Ellie) Lang and Andy (Bonnie) Lang. Adored grandfather of Jennifer, Eric, Adam, Kevin, Brian, Ashley, Stephen, Colleen, Megan, Rudy, Kody, Brianna, Emma and the late Heather. Predeceased by his loving parents Gerald and Myrtle and sister Barbara Wyatt. Loving nephew of Esther Barge. Bob will be missed by his nieces, nephews and the Heaslip family. Friends were received at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West, (905-721-1234) for visitation on Tuesday, December 12th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. Funeral Service was held in the Chapel Wednesday, December 13th at 11:00 A.M. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to the Parkinson Society or St. Stephens United Church would be appreciated.

PERRY, Stephen Kenneth
Forever in our hearts, Steve passed away peacefully at home on Friday, December 8th, 2006 after a lengthy battle with brain cancer. Loving, devoted husband and best friend to his wife Laura. Dear son of Jack and Mary and son-in-law of Dave and Lynn. Wonderful brother to Jason and Andrea and brother-in-law to Michelle, Kyle, Michelle and Micha. He will be deeply missed by all his nieces and nephews, Joshia, Madelaine, Kayle, Maya and Ella as well as his many aunts, uncles and cousins. Steve was a warm, caring and gentle man who will be remembered by his many friends. To live, love and forgive as Steve did would be the greatest tribute we all could give to him. A memorial service will be held at King Street Pentecostal Church 611 King Street West, Oshawa on Saturday, December 16th, 2006 at 1pm. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made 'in memoriam' to The Pencer Centre, Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation through the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME.

PETRONIO, Irene
Peacefully in her sleep at her daughter Louisa's home, on Friday, December 8, 2006. Irene (nee Poirier) at 77 years of age. Beloved wife of the late Francesco Petronio for 53 years. Loved mother of Gabrielle and her husband Carlos Santos of Tyrone, Louisa and her husband Herminio Ganhao of Hampton, Francesco Petronio and his wife Rosemary of Oshawa and the late Francesco and Mario. Loving Mërmére of Mark, Alberto (Jenny), Fernando, Christina, Terry, Vicki and Mario. Dear sister of Yvonne Richard and Evangeline Bonds. She will be fondly remembered by her nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents Albany and Alina Poirier and by her sisters Elizabeth and Clarice and by her brothers Joseph and Frank. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Mass of Christian Burial in Holy Cross Catholic Church on Monday, December 11, 2006 at 11 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday 2-4 and 7-9.

BUTT, Marina H.
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Marina Harrison Butt (nee Brash) after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Marina passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Thursday, December 7th, 2006 at the age of 71 years. Beloved wife of Grant of 49 years. Loving mother of Gail (Kevin) Brown and the late Ric Butt. Cherished Nanny of Corey, Bronwyn, Tyler and Trevor. Dear sister of Joyce (Jim) Barter, Robert (the late Helen) Brash. Predeceased by her brothers Jackie, Gary and Ronald. Dear daughter of the late Richard and Ruth Brash. Will be missed by many nieces and nephews. A special thank you to the caring staff of C wing at Fairview Lodge. Your care and compassion was like an extension of our family. GDULA, Julia (Oliana Duliak) nee Onyszkiewicz
Born in Uhniw Ukraine. Passed away quietly at the Ivan Franko Seniors' Residence in Toronto, on Thursday, December 7th, 2006 at the age of 85 years. She survived her first husband who perished in post-war Europe, and came to Canada, in 1969 shortly after marrying her second husband, Bohdan Gdula (Duliak), who predeceased her last year. They lived in Oshawa, moving to St. Catharine's later on and were happily wed for 36 years. She was very active in the Catholic Women's League in both cities. Julia leaves behind a son, Wladek Pater, in Poland as well as several grandchildren there. Julia will be fondly remembered by Dawn and Ron Wojtyk of Ottawa, Ontario, who saw Julia and her husband through their final years. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St. E. Oshawa with Divine Liturgy of Christian Burial at St. George's Ukrainian Catholic Church on Saturday, December 9th, at 11 a.m. Interment at St. Wolodymyr & St. Olha Cemetery. Visitation Friday 7-9 p.m. with Panachyda at 7:30 p.m. Memorial donations to Children of Chernobyl would be appreciated.

MATEJUK, Nicholas Marian
(Retired employee of General Motors Canada; served in the Polish Army during WWII; life member of Gen. W. Sikorski Polish Veterians Association; member of the Royal Canadian Legion - Branch #43)
Peacefully at Humber River Regional Hospital on Thursday, December 7th, 2006 in his 83rd year. Dearly beloved husband of Dora. Loving father of Lydia Cramb (Ian), Nick Jr. (Judith) and Nadine Matejuk and step-father to Helena Halpenny (Bob). Cherished grandfather to Mercedes, Georgia, Nicole, Clinton and Danielle. Survived by his sister Jadwiga Jarosz in Poland. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation Monday, December 11th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Thornton Cemetery. REILLY, Mary Lindsay "May"
Passed away peacefully at Ajax Pickering Hospital on December 7, 2006. Beloved wife of Francis "Frank". Loving mother of Elizabeth, John, William, David, Patricia, and Michael. Cherished grandmother of Doug, Joey, Daniel, Michael, Kristen, Dylan, and Brittany. Sister of Bill, Andrew, Annie, and Cathy. She will be sadly missed by her many friends and extended family. SIMIANA, Michael Anthony Jason
At a family farm in Cavan, passed quietly near peaceful woods, with angels at his side, on Thursday, December 7, 2006. Born in Oshawa, on January 13, 1956, Michael was the beautiful blue-eyed, son of Maltese parents, Joseph and Lina Simiana. Michael named after St. Michael the Archangel and St. Anthony of Padua, had a wonderful, light-hearted spirit that sought to create joy and nurturance for his family, relatives and friends. A creator of art, an enthusiast of animals, motorcycles, and airplanes. Michael was inseparable from his brother, John and his late brother, Joseph. A truly devoted father, Michael will be sadly missed by his children, Ashley, Michael, Shannon, Erin and Tessa. Michael is predeceased by his brother Joseph (Laurie) and their son Augustus, and children, Julie, Michelle, Angie, and Katie. He leaves behinds his parents and six brothers and sisters and their families Sylvia (Terry) and children, John (Danielle) Olivia, Jackson; Samantha (Dave) Elijah, Abigail; George; Sam; Janey (Paul) and their children Tamara (Barry) Emma, Caroline, Josie; Sean, Tony, Joey, Johnny, Mary, Tom; Veronica (Jim) and children, Peter, (Amanda) Cory, Scott, Hope; Paula (David) and their children, Michael (Janet) Joshua; Susan and son, Bradley; John (Cheryl) and their children, John (Christine) Jake and Joey; Adrian, Leah; Rose and her son, Michael Vincent. Michael was cherished by his dear and close family, cousins, relatives and friends. Michael's family will receive friends at the COURTICE FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1587 Highway #2, Courtice (905-432-8484) on Wednesday, December 13, 2006. Visitations will be held from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. with prayers at 8 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 14, 2006 at 11 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 3800 Courtice Road North, Courtice, Ontario L1E 2L5 (905-436-2126). Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery. Michael will be laid to rest at the side of his brother Joseph. A reception will be held at 1:30 p.m. at the St. Therese Church hall. In lieu of donations, a trust fund has been created for Michael's children.

On Wednesday, December 6, 2006 at the age of 87. Beloved wife of the late John Jakubowski and Ludwig Dzumek. Dear mother of Mary Dzumek, Louise Stafford (predeceased) and John Dzumek (Janet). Lovingly remembered by her grandson Todd Stafford (Kelly), her great-grandsons Brandon, Daniel, Alexander, Michael and her step grandsons Christopher, Matthew and Daniel. Fondly remembered by her family and friends in Poland. Passed away peacefully at Extendicare Nursing Home on Wednesday, December 6, 2006, at the age of 78. Beloved wife of Major Leslie for 40 years. Loving mother Audrey Napper, Dorothy Reid (Milton), Verla Perrin (John), Pat Howard (Bob) and Shirley Howard (Donnelly). Lovingly remembered by her grandsons Brian and Richard Napper and by her great-grandchildren Justice and Aliah Napper.
