CARTLIDGE, John Earl
Suddenly at his residence on November 30th, 2006. John in his 42nd year. Loving father of Shannon. Predeceased by his parents, Earl & Helen Cartlidge. Dear brother of Lynda and her husband, Maurice Lefebvre, and Cheryl and her husband, Randy Booker. Uncle of Marc, Mike, Amanda, Taylor and Brynn. Loved nephew of Auntie Jo & Uncle Wally and cousin, Caryn. Will be sadly missed by all his friends and co-workers at Leer. Special thanks and appreciation to Sherri and family. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St. E. Oshawa, with service in the chapel on Tuesday, December 5th at 11:00 a.m. Visitation Monday 2-4 p.m. & 7-9 p.m. Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation or Cancer Society would be appreciated.

CUSHING, Rolfe Stuart Basil
Peacefully following a lengthy illness at Toronto General Hospital on Thursday, November 30, 2006 in his 51st year. Rolfe, beloved husband of the late Cheri. Proud father of Amanda, Allison, and Alex. Dear son of Marjorie Cushing and the late Lloyd Cushing. Dear brother of Janet and her husband Ian Blue, Judy and her husband Mike Prindiville, and Robert and his wife Sylvia Cushing. The family will receive friends at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby (905-668-3410) from 7 to 9pm Monday, and 7 to 9pm Tuesday. Service at St. Mark's United Church (201 Centre Street South, Whitby) on Wednesday December 6, 2006 at 1pm. Private interment at GROVESIDE CEMETERY. In memoriam, donations may be made to the Liver Foundation.

JARDINE, Sylvia Cynthia (nee Gibbs)
The Angels came to take our beloved, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, November 30, 2006 in her 74th year. Daughter of the late Eddie and Ray Gibbs, loving sister of Ray Gibbs of Edmonton. Predeceased by her husband Charles C. Jardine (2002) and her son Raymond Andrew (1972). Survived by sons Dale of Halifax, Gord, Dan and his wife Carolyn of Oshawa. Sylvia will be missed by her many grandchildren, Clare, Kyla, Nathan, Holly, Michael and Kristina, cousins, nieces and nephews from around this wonderful world. Friends and family may join us at the MORRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4 Division Street, Bowmanville on Sunday, December 3rd from 7 - 9 p.m. to rejoice her life. Funeral service in the MORRIS CHAPEL on Monday, December 4th at 1 p.m. followed by burial in Bowmanville Cemetery. Flowers will be appreciated.

RIVEST, William Arthur
Born January 3, 1955, passed away at his residence in Whitby on Thursday, November 30, 2006 in his 52nd year. Son of George and Thelma Rivest. Loved & missed by his family, and Friends. Mr. Rivest will be resting at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas St. East Whitby (905) 668-3410 Monday, December 4th from 1 to 3pm. Service in the Chapel Monday 3pm. Followed by Cremation.

BURNYK, Anton
Suddenly at home on November 29th, 2006. Anton Burnyk in his 80th year. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 53 years, Stella, whom he missed dearly. Loving father of Pauline Burnyk, Irene D'Amours and her husband Marc, Sylvia McDonald and her husband Kenneth and the late Patricia Burnyk. Dido will be forever dearly missed by his grandchildren Natalie Leger and Lucas D'Amours and will remain forever in their hearts. Anton was so lovingly devoted to his family and will be very deeply missed & will be remembered always. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St. E. Oshawa with funeral service in the chapel on Monday, December 4th at 1 p.m. Visitation on Sunday 7-9 p.m. with Panchyda at 7 p.m. Interment Oshawa Union Cemetery. Dear father of Ken (Serena), John (Dorothy) and Glynn (Peggy) all of Oshawa. Lovingly remembered by his 5 grandchildren Ian (Aneta), Michelle (Alex), Jaclyn (Andrew), Vanessa (Tom) and Stephanie (Al). Special Grandad to his great grand daughter Scarlett. Fondly remembered by his brother John and sister Nancy in England. Peacefully in her sleep at the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, at age 65. Predeceased by her parents John H. Johnson and Alice (Hahn) Johnson and sister Irene Panet. Survived by sister Viola Hepworth (Don). Loving aunt of Deborah Robillard, Cathy Johnston, Paul Boynton, Charles Panet, John Panet, and Suzanne Panet. Loving great-aunt to David and Elizabeth Jackson, Sean and Jacob Boynton. Passed into the presence of her friend and saviour Jesus Christ. Memorial donations may be made to Uxbridge Community Care or to the Canadian Cancer Society.

With our deep love and regret, we announce the passing of Sydney Buxton (Syd) Lue on Wednesday, November 29, 2006 in his 45th year. He is survived by his wife Shelley Lue, daughter Alexis Lue and son Oliver Lue. Loving son of Kathleen and Austin Lue. Brother to Peter and Shelly (Dexter John). He will be sadly missed by aunts, uncles, relatives, friends and all who knew him. Suddenly on Wednesday, November 29, 2006, while surrounded by his family at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, Ron passed away in his 74th year. Loving husband and life-long companion of Mae. Dear father of Ronnie Playford, Patti Lucas of Kendal, and Joanne Playford of Vancouver. Papa to Melissa, Tommy, Samantha, Sarah-Jayne, and Kendall-Leigh Lucas, as well as Lee-Ann, Paul, Race, Kyle, and Jake. Best friend to many, especially Frank Remmer, Jim Macklem, and Craig McGraw. Friends may call at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Friday, December 1, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel of the funeral home on Saturday, December 2, at 11:30 a.m., followed by cremation. SIMBIRSKI, Theresa Anna Christina
Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday November 29th, 2006. Theresa at age 82. Predeceased in 1983 by her beloved husband Steve Simbirski. Loving mother of Sandra Glancy and her husband Larry of Mississauga, Geraldine Fick and her husband Doug of Etobicoke, Susan Beauchamp and her husband Don of Abbotsford, BC and Christine Simbirski. Dear grandmother of Jason, Trevor, Laurie, Don, Derek, and Michaela. Predeceased by one sister Elizabeth Simbirski and 2 brothers Nick and John Atamaniuk. Funeral was held at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St. E. Oshawa on Sunday December 3rd, 2006. Interment at Beaver Lake Cemetery in Sudbury. Memorial donations to the Cancer Society would be appreciated.

GORESKI, August "Gus" Joseph
At Wynfield Residence on Tuesday, November 28th, 2006. Gus Goreski was in his 87th year. Beloved husband of Anne Goreski (nee Flegel). Loving father of Diane Carras & her husband Danny, Carol Pudlis & her husband John and Darlene Wood & her husband Glen. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Brian Carras & his wife Julianne, Leslie Clapp & her husband Aaron, Aaron Pudlis and his wife Melissa, Sean Pudlis and his fiancée Shaunna, Brad Wood and his friend Ashleigh and Laura Wood. Great-grandfather of Bridgette, Matthew, Isabelle, Brock and Alana. Survived by sisters Anne & Sophie, brothers Rudy and Adam. Predeceased by his sister Lena, brothers John, Frank, Phil, and Tom and by his parents Helen and Joseph. Gus designed fine homes for 45 years with a reputation built on honesty and integrity well known to business associates and friends. He enjoyed fishing, skiing and playing his harmonica but nothing brought a greater smile to his face than a day of hard work and a job well done. He was a man of family who enjoyed helping his children in anyway he could. We do not mourn him today, we celebrate him for the legacy and inspiration he has left us. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King St. E. Oshawa with mass of Christian burial at St. Joseph the Worker Parish, 1100 Mary St. N. Oshawa on Friday December 1st at 10 a.m. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Prayers will be held at the funeral home on Thursday at 7 p.m. Memorial donations to the Diabetes Association would be appreciated. Friends will be received Thursday from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m.

Passed away suddenly on Tuesday, November 28th, 2006 at the age of 62 years. Don, beloved husband of Linda. Dear father of Mike (Cheryl) and Rick (Denise). Adored Grandfather of Brittaney, Ryan, Nicholas and Mitchell. Son of the late Clare and Betty. Cherished brother of Wayne (Arlye) Eleanor (Keith), Diane (Sam), Pat (Rick) and the late David. Brother-in-law of Lorne (Chris) and son-in-law of Doris. Uncle to many nieces, nephews and will be sadly missed by his special York Terriers Brandy and Mickey.
