RIDER, Doris Winona
Passed away peacefully at Ross Memorial Hospital, Lindsay on Saturday, November 18th, 2006 at the age of 84. Dearly beloved wife of the late Linald Rider. Loving mother of Dianne Newhook and her husband Wayne and Deborah McFarlane and her husband Rick. Doris is predeceased by her son Wayne Rider. Cherished Granny of 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren. Fondly remembered by many friends and relatives. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Wednesday, November 22nd from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday, November 23rd at 11:00 a.m. Interment Union Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

With great sadness, Angela passed away peacefully with her family by her side on Saturday, November 18th, 2006. Beloved wife and best friend to Frederick, cherished mother of Rosanne (Henry), Phaedra (Robert), and Desiree (Gordon). Devoted Grandma, to Talaira, Atisha, Rhiannon, Jahnaya, Gabriel and grandson on the way. Dearest darling sister to Tony Jansz (Daphne), Bernadette (Patrick Martil), Mignonne (Melvyn Dezilva), Beverley Jansz (Eunice) and Yvonne (Winston Deckker). Loving sister-in-law to Dorothy Philips, Gladys van Buuren (Harvey), Marlene (Luis Cabral), Rosemary van Buuren, Maureen van Buuren, Celine Jansz, Melrose Jansz and Fatima Jansz. Predeceased by brothers and brothers-in-law, Roderick Jansz, Desmond Jansz, Denver van Buuren, Oswin van Buuren, Trevor van Buuren (Rona), and Brian van Buuren. She will be remembered by nieces, nephews, cousins and all who knew her. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, November 22nd at St. Isaac Jogues Roman Catholic Church at 10:30 a.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Covenant House would be greatly appreciated.

(former employee of Lincoln Electric for 43 years; member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 614)
At Centenary Health Centre on Friday, November 17, 2006, after a brief illness. Loving husband and best friend of Ruth for 55 years. Dear father of Randy and his wife Linda, Gayle Goodwin, and the late Mike. Proudest fan of his much loved grand-daughter Carly, and a great supporter of her Durham Girls Hockey Association. Beloved brother of Audrie Ruffell and her late husband Bill; brother-in-law to Joan and Paul Young and Betty and Jack Crossman. A special thank you to all of the staff of Centenary I.C.U., and especially his new friends Dorothy, Diane, Angie, Gloria, Nancy, Merissa, Darlene, Alison, Krishna, Elizabeth, Andrew, Cara, Sue, Jennifer, Dr. Chen and Dr. Larry - the "Angels of Centenary Hospital." A celebration of Gord's life will take place on Monday, November 20, from 6-9 p.m. in the Scarborough Suite of the Delta East Hotel (401 and Kennedy Road), and all are welcome. At his residence on Thursday, November 16, 2006 in his 92nd year. Lorne, beloved husband of Margaret Quinn and the late Maida Marie Little. Loved father of Brian and his wife Linda and Elaine and her husband Ross Carter, Doug Eddy and his late wife Charlotte Eddy. Dear step father of Bernard & Erna Laffan, Lawrence Laffan, Colleen Laffan - Marinelli, Dennis and Judith Laffan, Brian and Lynn Laffan, Joanne and Paul McCulloch, John and Mary Laffan and Bridget and Garfield Rose. Loving grandfather of 13 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Dear brother of Adelaide Bignell of Toronto. Friends may pay their respects at the MORRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4 Division St., Bowmanville on Friday from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service complete in the MORRIS CHAPEL on Saturday at 2 p.m. Private interment at Bethesda Cemetery. CARLTON, Kelly
It is with profound sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Kelly, on November 16, 2006, due to a brief illness, at the age of 50. Adored husband, soul mate and best friend of Lynda (Burgess). Devoted and deeply loved father of Brandi, Casey and Dusty, all at home. Kelly will be greatly missed by brothers Roger (Pierrette), Barry (Kay), Guy (Debbie) and Lewis, and his sister Lori (Rob), and their families. Predeceased by his parents Geraldine and Mel Carlton. Kelly will be especially missed by his nephew Todd (Amy) and his life long friend Ron and cousin Robert. Kelly leaves many relatives, friends, neighbours, coworkers and clients. Although an electrician by trade, Kelly was our backyard mechanic, renovation king, plumber on call and our all-round, consummate jack-of-all trades. He was always there to help build, fix, wire or just advise on any job, and never turned down a fix-it challenge. Always a perfectionist, we trusted Kelly that anything to be done was, just that, perfection. Always a smile, with the least expected comeback or pun, he never failed to make us laugh. For all of us, he was the glue that held us all together. Words simply cannot describe the depth of our loss and just how much he is already missed by all. The Funeral Service will be held on Monday at Pickering Village United Church (300 Church St. North, Ajax), at 11 a.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Toronto Sunnybrook Regional Cancer Centre would be greatly appreciated.

DAVIES, David Mordecai
Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, November 16, 2006, in his 85th year. Beloved husband of the late Hazel (nee Crowe). Dear father of Pamela Haas(Werner) of Heidelberg, Dr. Robin Davies (Wendy) of Oshawa, Lyn Zurbrigg (Ken) of Boston, and Chris Davies (Lisa) of Toronto. Predeceased by his siblings Benjamin, Leonard, Winnifred, Douglas, Olwyn, John, Bill and Rowena. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Ben, Alexandra and Marson. Dave will be sadly missed by his special friend Alice Schless. Special thanks to Dr. Kapusta & Dr. Alessandrini, the physicians and staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa and the staff at the Carriage House for their care and compassion. She is survived by three sisters and two brothers. She will be deeply missed by her nephews, nieces, family and friends. Mate will be greatly missed by his many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Peacefully surrounded by his family after a brief illness with cancer at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on November 15, 2006 in his 83rd year. Beloved husband of Margaret (nee Barbour). Dear father of Diane Marks and husband Alan, Jo-Ann Vaughan and husband Wayne, and Gary Hodder and wife Arlene. Most loved Papa of Shannon, Jaime, Justin, Jessica, Jordan and Allyson. Proud great-grandfather of Tucker, Reid and Caiden. Sadly missed by his extended family and friends. Mr. Hodder will be resting at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, 905-668-3410, on Thursday, November 16, 2006 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A service in the chapel on Friday, November 17, 2006 at 1 p.m. Cremation to follow.
