BOOTH, Frank E.
Peacefully, at Lakeridge Health Corporation, Oshawa, on Monday, November 13, 2006, in his 90th year. Frank, loving husband of the late Kathleen (Kay). Devoted father of Shirley and Adrian, Garry and Jean, Jeff and Joan, Diane and Winston, Susan (deceased), Paul and Jackie, Greg and Ann, Carol and John, John and Bonnie. Dear Grandpa of 22 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren. Funeral Mass will be held at St. Bernadette's Church (S.E. corner of Bayly St. and Harwood Ave., Ajax) on Thursday, November 16, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or The Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

CANE, Doris L.
At Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Monday, November 13th, 2006. Born in Oshawa, she attended Mary Street School and O.C.V.I. She worked at the Skinner Company Limited and the Factory Payroll Department of General Motors of Canada. Her first husband, Lieutenant Edwin D. Friend died "In Action" while serving with the Canadian Armed Forces (The Governor General Horse Guards, Armoured Unit) in Italy during World War II. Predeceased by her parents Fred and "Mac" (Elizabeth Lynde) McBrien of Lynbrook Park, Whitby, Ontario and her sister Eileen and her husband Frank A. Wilson. Curling was her favourite sport and she learned the game at the Oshawa Curling Club - a student of her father. Later she enjoyed the game at the Sydney Curling Club in Nova Scotia, The Glencoe Club in Calgary, Alberta and The Oshawa Golf and Curling Club of Oshawa, Ontario. She was also active on the executive of the I.O.D.E. in Calgary and Moncton. Doris is survived by her husband William G. Cane of Oshawa, their son Frederick William of Toronto and their daughter Lynn Lorraine McAlpine and grandsons Matthew and Cameron McAlpine of Grand Prairie, Alberta. Relatives and friends may call at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King Street East, Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Service will be held in the chapel on Friday, November 17th, 2006 at 1:00 p.m. with interment at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens, Whitby. For those who wish, the family would appreciate donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Canadian Cancer Society, or a favourite Charity.

HALE, James William "Jim"
Suddenly, in Valleyfield, Quebec on his way home from Newfoundland, on Monday, November 13, 2006 at age 65. Jim Hale of Port Perry, dearly loved husband of Helen (nee McDonald). Loved father of Connie Hale of Peterborough, Kimberly and her husband, Greg Newhook of Oshawa, and the late Carol-Lynn Hale (2000). Loving grandfather of Matthew and Alexander. Dear brother of Bob Hale and his wife, Mary of Sunderland. The family of Jim Hale will receive friends at the WAGG FUNERAL HOME, "McDermott-Panabaker Chapel", 216 Queen Street in Port Perry (905-985-2171) on Friday, November 17th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held in the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 1710 Scugog Street (Hwy 7A) in Port Perry on Saturday, November 18th at 11 a.m. with Father Peter Lackmanec officiating. Private interment, Thornton Cemetery, Oshawa. If desired, memorial donations may be made by cheque to the Hospital for Sick Kids Foundation in Toronto.

LAWTHER, Stanley "Curly"
Passed away with his wife by his side at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa on Monday, November 13th, 2006 at the age of 74 years. Curly, beloved husband of Joan. Dear father of Stanley, Kim and Dean. Cherished grandfather of Debbie, Tara, Jonathan, Christopher and Michael. Adored great-grandfather of Kain and Sienna. Will be fondly remembered by his friends and family in Canada and Northern Ireland. LUNNEY, Douglas Charles
In loving memory of Douglas Charles Lunney, who passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health-Whitby on Monday, November 13th, 2006 in his 96th year. Survived by his loving wife, Ruby of 70 years, daughter, Betty Musselman and her husband, Jim. Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren, Jay (Jackie), Lisa Vanelst (Steve) and Daryl (Andrea) and his six great-grandchildren Dylan, Connor, Alexandria, Samantha, Douglas and Lily. Doug was a long time resident of Whitby, since 1949. Arrangements being made through OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. West (905-721-1234). A private family memorial service will be held to celebrate Doug's long and happy life. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society.

MILLER, Frederick Archibald
(Active Member of Oshawa Camera Club since 1955, Head of Mathematics Teacher for over 30 years at O'Neill Collegiate and Vocational Institute, Volunteered for Meal on Wheels Program, Actively involved with the Oshawa Senior Citizens Centre, Active Member of Northminster United Church, since 1955).
Peacefully at Strathaven Retirement Centre, Bowmanville on Monday, November 13, 2006, in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his beloved wife, Lucy Margaret Ruth (Boyce) Miller in 1996. Survived by his son, David Miller and his wife. Heather of West Vancouver, B.C., and his daughter, Elizabeth Morrow and her husband Alan of Oshawa. Also sadly missed by his grandchildren, Scott Miller (Kristy), Kristine Miller, Melanie and Derek Morrow. She is survived by her children, Noel Allen, Ridley Allen, Mavis Tablin Riley, Franklin Brown, Hazel Bryan, Natilda Anderson, Glen Allen, Eulalee Allen, Totlin Dean, Cynthia Peart, and Barbara Anderson. Grandmother to over 60 grandchildren, great-grandmother to over 100 great-grandchildren and great-great-grandmother to over 10 great-great-grandchildren. Sister to Aunt Momma and Aunt Ruth. She will be lovingly remembered by many dear family and friends. Funeral service will be held at the Seventh Day Adventist Centre on Thursday, November 23, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Diabetes Association would be greatly appreciated.
