BARRIE, John Haggarty
Aged 55 years. Peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Friday, September 15th 2006. Beloved husband of Evelyn for 30 years. Loving father of Graham Barrie. Survived by his aunts Mary Tanner & Nancy McFatter. He will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law John Campbell & family also by his sister-in-law Mary & her husband John Watson and by Catherine & Bob Piper. A very special thank you to the Palliative Care staff & the staff at Durham Access to Care for all their excellent care & support over the past few months. Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville 7- 9 pm on Monday, September 18th 2006. Funeral Service will be held in our Chapel at 11 am Tuesday, September 19th 2006. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory would be appreciated if made to The Canadian Cancer Society or The Heart & Stroke Foundation.

WIENECKE, Jean Marjorie (neé Cupples)
Passed away peacefully in her 80th year on September 15th, 2006 at Bayridge Nursing Home after a long battle with Alzheimers. Devoted wife of Carl for 56 years. Loving mother of Pamela (Rick) Henderson of Pickering, Rick (Dafna) Wienecke of Israel and the late Lori-Ann. Cherished Mammie of Luke, Joshua, Daniel and Yohai. Predeceased by her parents Ralph and Pearl of Mt. Albert. Sister of Murray, Jim, Bernard and the late Doug. Jean will be fondly remembered by her family and friends. Friends may visit at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE, "Thornton Chapel", 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) on Sunday, September 17th from 2 - 4 and 7 - 9 P.M. A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Monday, September 18th at 11:00 A.M. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Society or St. Paul's Presbyterian Church, Oshawa.

RICE, Ronald Francis
(Retired Employee of General Motors of Canada, Lifetime member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch # 43)
Suddenly at his residence on Thursday, September 14, 2006. Ronald Rice in his 73 rd year. Loving father of Wendy and Robin Jones, Stephen and Catherine Rice, Suzanne Rice and Don Barton, Tammy Knapp and Sherry Rice. He will be sadly missed by his 21 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. He will be fondly remembered by his sister Catherine and her husband James Meikle, his sister-in-law Gladys Rice and his friend Ruth McLean. He is predeceased by his brother Stephen Rice and his sister Mary McKelvy and her husband Claude. Proud uncle of 8 nieces and nephews. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East Oshawa with funeral service in the chapel on Monday, September 18, 2006 at 1 p.m. Interment Oshawa Union Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Humane Society of Durham Region would be appreciated. Visitation Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m.

CRANFIELD, Joan Edna May
Passed away peacefully in her 89th year on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at Port Perry Memorial Hospital. She was a loving wife and best friend to her husband, the late Monty Cranfield. Her sense of humour, her love of life, nature and the game of bridge will be remembered and cherished by her nieces and nephews, family and friends. Remembered by her sisters-in-law Mary Townsend and Isabel Cranfield and close friend Al Stevens. Predeceased by her brother Don Townsend and brother-in-law Don Cranfield. Special thanks to everyone who made it possible for Joan to stay in her home, especially Theresa McQuaid. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa with Funeral Service in the Chapel on Saturday, September 16, 2006 at 1 p.m. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Peacefully, on Wednesday, September 13, 2006 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 84. Bill Dickinson of Prince Albert, beloved husband of the late Tillie (neé Hope). Loved father of Judy and her husband Don Phinney of Prince Albert. Loving grandfather of Mike Olaisen, and Rick Olaisen and his wife Angie. Proud Papa Bill to Tyler, Brittany, Jacob and Jaden. Survived by his brother Bob Dickinson of Toronto. Helen was a founding member of Westminster United Church, an active member in the Masonic Lodge and also involved in many community services. Fondly remembered by many friends and relatives. Peacefully, on Wednesday, September 13, 2006, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre in Kincardine, in her 75th year. Beloved wife of Ross for 56 years. Loving mother of Glen and his wife Ginny, Jenny and her husband Don, Margaret and her partner Deb. Cherished "Grama" to Jamie, Amy, Jason, Aaron, Brock, Phalon, Jennifer, Amanda and proud great- grandmother of all her great-grandchildren. June is survived by her sister Ruth Low of Toronto. Predeceased by her parents Walter and Ethel Meredith; her son Walter; daughter Janice and by her granddaughter Kelly. Will be fondly remembered by her many cousins, nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. Guests will be received at the Mount Lawn Reception Centre, 21 Garrard Rd., Whitby (just north of Hwy. 2), on Monday, September 18, 2006 from 12 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 1 p.m. Interment to follow. Donations in June's memory may be directed to the Canadian Cancer Society.

BOND, Stanley Alexander
Dec. 19, 1928 - Sept. 12, 2006.
It is with great sadness that after a brief heart-related illness, Stan passed away peacefully at his home in Tweed with his wife Joan at his side. He leaves behind his daughter Julie and her husband Ron Mac Millan, his grandchildren Wesley, Graham and Lauren Gosse. He is survived by his 2 remaining sisters Marg Bond and Mary Maxwell. He leaves behind many family members, friends and great neighbours on the Moira River. A memorial celebration of his life will be held at the Oshawa Airport Golf Club at 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, October 15, 2006. Funny stories and photos will be welcomed.

CADE, Russell "Rusty"
Died suddenly on Tuesday, September 12, 2006 at the Rouge Valley Health Centre, Ajax, in his 59th year. Beloved husband of Eileen. Loving father of Billy and Jamie, and step-father of Debbie (Norm Maisonneuve). Grandfather of Eden, Jessie, Andrew Sheri, Cyndi and Joe. Dearly loved father of Megan and her fiancé Michael Gabona, and Craig Cannon and his wife Liz. Devoted Papa of Cole and Jacob. Loving son of Mary and the late Mel Cannon. Loved brother of Janet (Ken Rankin), Mary Cannon, Ian Cannon, Jackie (Ray Rankin), Laura (John Watson), Johnny (deceased), Melodie Cannon, Sheila Cannon and David Cannon (Sharry-Lynn). Dear son-in-law of Bruce and Terry Gerrow and brother-in-law of Steven Gerrow (Netta). He will also be missed by his many nieces and nephews.
