Mr. Francis John (Frank) Phillips
January 17, 1928 - February 26, 2008

PHILLIPS, Francis (Frank) John - Peacefully passed away surrounded by his family at Oakville Trafalgar Hospital on Tuesday February 26, 2008, at the age of 80 years. Loving Husband and best friend of Liz . Beloved father of Michael and his wife Carrie. Frank will be fondly remembered by his cousins Michael Morrison and Audrey Couth, and his many family and friends. A celebration of Franks life will be conducted at the Glen Oaks Reception Centre 3164 Ninth Line (Dundas/403) 905-257-8822 at 4 p.m., with a reception to follow at the family home. Special Thanks to the Staff at the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital. In lieu of flowers donations would be appreciated to the Oakville Trafalgar Hospital or the Oakville Humane Society.

passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 7, 2010 at Southlake Regional Health Centre. Beloved husband of the late Margo (nee Hastings-Trew). Cherished father of Barbara (Gary Walker), Ian (Maureen LeVon), the late Jody, Derek (Lori) and Bryan (Judy). Proud grandfather of Jessica (Dane), Mitchel, Colton, Kyle and Spencer. World War II Veteran of the RAF (Course 86 no.11s.f.t.s.) Friends may visit at Taylor Funeral Home, Newmarket Chapel (524 Davis Drive, 905-898-2100) on Thursday, March 18 from 4 to 5pm with a chapel service immediately following. In lieu of flowers, please consider donations to the Heart and Stroke Fund or the MS Society.

Mrs. Shirley Simmonds
June 24, 1936 - February 23, 2008

Simmonds, Shirley, passed away at St. Michael's Hospital on Saturday, February 23rd, 2008 at the age of 71. Beloved wife of the late Edwin Simmonds. Dear mother of Bonnie Dorion (Steve), Suzann Simmonds, Jenny St. Amand (Robert), Diane Simmonds, Linda Simmonds (Jason Wurmbach). Loving grandma of Krystal Dorion-Buxo (Richard), Jeffery St. Amand, Mindi-Lynn St. Amand, Marni-Klein Simmonds and Andreas Wurmbach. Loving great-grandma of Chloe Jewel Buxo. She will be sadly missed by her sisters, brothers, many nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be held at Nicholls Funeral Home, 330 Midland Ave., Midland, on Thursday, February 28th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will take place in the chapel on Friday, February 29th at 10 a.m. Cremation to follow. Spring interment at Lakeview cemetery , Midland. If desired, memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, or to St. Michael's Hospital Neurology and Trauma Unit would be appreciated.

Mr. Jovan 'John' Taskovski
October 4, 1934 - February 25, 2008

Surrounded by his Loving family on February 25,2008, Jovan in his 74th year. Beloved Husband of 50 years to Trajanka. Loving Father of Vera (John) Georgievski, Susan (Kendall) Fryer, Vasil (Anastasia) Taskovski. Devoted Grandfather to Christopher, Michael, Kristen, Kassandra and Johnathan. Also survived by his Brother Petre, Sister Zorka, Brothers-In-Law Todor and Alexander, Sisters-In-Law Draga, Sofia, Mare and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Ilija and Evda, and sisters Stoyna and Vita. Jovan was born in S. Velusina, Macedonia and immigrated to Canada in 1967 where he raised his family and worked at Dofasco until retiring in 1999 after 32 years of service. Special thank you to Dr. D. Arlen, Dr. E. Matsumoto, and the Stoney Creek Hemodialysis Unit. Friends and family will be recieved at the DODSWORTH & BROWN Funeral home ROBINSON CHAPEL (15 West Ave. North, at King and Wellington) on Wednesday February 27, 2008 from 7-9 p.m. and Thursday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Mass on Friday February 29, 2008 at St. Naum Macedonian Orthodox Church (1150 Stone Church E.at Upper Ottawa St.) at 11a.m. Interment to follow at Eastlawn cemetery.

Tristan Joseph Francis Pelvin
May 8, 2007 - February 24, 2008

On Sunday, February 24, 2008, Triston passed away at the tender age of 9-1/2 months at the Hospital for Sick Children. Cherished son of Owen and Denika and dear little brother to Sienna. The funeral service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Thursday, February 28th, 2008 at the Highland Funeral Home, Markham Chapel, 10 Cachet Wood Court (NE corner of 16th Avenue & Hwy 404). Interment will follow in Elmwood cemetery , Markham. In memory of Tristan, donations may be sent to the Hospital for Sick Children - please call for further details to 905-887-8600.

Mr. Homer Frederick Plante
August 19, 1912 - February 25, 2008

95 years, peacefully, on February 25, 2008. Late of Versa Care-Windsor Place. Beloved husband of the late Ada (1983). Dear father of David and wife Carol; Joann Weston; and Diana Blondin. Dear brother of Edward and wife Monica; Robert and wife Theresa; and the late Warren (2005), Bernard (1979), Sister Marion Plante,O.S.U.(1971), Nicholas (1946), and John. Also survived by his grandchilden: Jean, Larry, Michael, Amanda, Elaine, Doug, Blake, his great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Homer was a veteran of WW II. He had been a devoted professor at the University of Windsor for many years teaching creative writing. A special thank you to the staff and volunteers at Windsor Place for the care that was given to him the last few years that he resided there. Family and friends are invited to gather after 10:00 a.m on Saturday, March 1, 2008 at St. Anne Church, Tecumseh, until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Robert Couture wil be the celebrant. Interment at St. Anne cemetery. In kindness, a donation to the Windsor/ Essex County Humane Society would be appreciated. A tree will be planted in memory of Homer in the Marcotte Heritage Forest. A dediction service will be held on September 28, 2008. All are welcome. You may share a memory at www.marcottetecumseh. ca. W.W.II Veteran
Peacefully, at the Hastings Manor Nursing Home on Monday February 25, 2008 in his 84th year. Ross was a W.W.II Veteran serving with the Royal Canadian Army Medical Corp in England, Italy, Sicily, Germany, France and Holland. Beloved husband of Eleanor (nee Frizzone). Loving father of Larry (Ann), Suzanne Brant (Ken), Gary (Rita), Richard, Raymond and Jeffery. Grandfather of fifteen and great grandfather of twenty. Son of the late Harold and Nora Shoebridge. Brother of June Flindall predeceased by his sisters Eva Little, Theda Lynch, Marylyn Dale and brother Raymond. The family will receive friends at the BURKE FUNERAL HOME, 150 Church Street, Belleville 613-968-6968 on Wednesday March 5, 2008 from 11-12 p.m. with service to follow in the chapel at 12:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
