Dear father of Patricia Dionne, George Dyer, Bill Dyer, Bob Dyer (Beani). Fondly remembered by his 8 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, and by his very good friend Libby. Dear brother of Dorothy (Glen Shearing), Barb (Ron Pyke), and Richard Dyer (Helen). The family will receive friends at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby (905-668-3410) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Saturday. Service in the Chapel on Sunday, August 13, 2006 at 1 p.m. followed by cremation. Passed away peacefully at the Community Nursing Home in Port Perry, on Thursday, August 10, 2006, at the age of 83. Violet Haggart (nee Seeds), formerly of Richmond Hill, and loving mother of Arlene and her husband, Don Smith and Janice and her husband, Tom Sommerville and the late Paul Haggart. Dear grandmother of Jennifer, Kimberly, Jessica and Shawna and great-grandmother of Kayleigh, Colin and Isabella. On Thursday, August 10, at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, after a short battle with cancer. Janet, beloved wife of Tom for 38 years. Loving mother of Adam (Bobbi) and David (Jeannie). Proud grandma of Matthew. Survived by her mother Leonice Melandson, her sister and five brothers. Janet will be sadly missed by her many friends and family.

Peacefully on Thursday, August 10, 2006 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in her 65th year. Beloved mother of Catherine. Cherished 'Grandma' of Aaron and Alexander. Survived by her sister, Ingrid and her husband, Uly; brother, Jean and his children, Jason and Jamie; sister-in-law, Bonnie and all extended family members here in Canada, and Germany. Karin is predeceased by her parents, Horst and Elisabeth Jankowski. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the dedicated medical team on 6F Oncology at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Passed away on Thursday, August 10, 2006 in his 75th year. John, the wonderful loving husband of 54 years to Muriel and devoted father of Vicki, Tracey and Mary. Caring and tolerant of his sons-in-law, Dave, Dave, and Jerry! Doting grandfather to Merrick, Chris, Cam, Taylor, Steven and Emma. A Memorial Service to celebrate John's life will be held at St. Paul's Anglican Church, 65 Toronto Street South, Uxbridge, on Thursday, August 17, 2006 at 2:00 p.m., followed by a reception. If family and friends should so desire, donations to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital Foundation (where John was treated with so much care and compassion) will be gratefully accepted.

Peacefully on Wednesday, August 9, 2006 at Ajax-Pickering Hospital in her 80th year with her loving daughter at her side. Beloved mother of Lori and her husband, Brian Connor. Cherished 'Grams' of Sarah and Jason. Betty will be fondly remembered by her niece, Cindy (John) and her great-nephews and great-niece; Chris (Joanna), Jeff (Christie), Lisa; and was great-great-aunt to Blake, Cole and Amelia. Predeceased by her sister, Margaret and niece, Diane. Betty was a dedicated nurse at the Whitby General Hospital who enjoyed many years of golfing and travel after retirement. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Dr. V. MacLennan and the nursing staff on 2 East for their care and compassion.
