ANDERSON, Elsie J.
With dignity and courage, passed away at the Rouge Valley Health System, Ajax Site, on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 in her 77th year. Beloved wife of 35 years to Burt. Loving Mom of Maralyn and her husband Robert Smerage; and step mother of Michael. Proud Grandma of Angie, Rob, and great grandchildren Marisa, Brandon and Justin. Survived by sisters Pearl, Velma and Thelma, and their families. The family will receive friends the McEachnie Funeral Home from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Friday. Funeral service in the chapel on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 11 am. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens, Whitby. Should family and friends so desire, donations to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated.

ANONICHUK, Isobel May
Aged 91 years. Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Wednesday, December 17th, 2003. Beloved wife of the late Alexander (Alec) Anonichuk. Dear mother of Yvonne & her husband Don Susla; and Wayne & his wife Carol. Loving "Grandma" of Sarah & Melissa. Funeral Service will be held in our Chapel at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home 11am Monday. Visitation will take place one hour prior to service from 10-11 am Monday. Memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

BUCKLEY, George
Aged 88 years. At Golden Dawn Nursing Home, Lions Head, on Wednesday, December 17th, 2003. Beloved husband of the late Madeline Buckley. Dear father of Tom & his wife Catherine. Loving grandfather of James & Christopher. Visitation will take place at The Northcutt Elliott Funeral Home from 2-4 & 7-9 pm Friday, December 19th 2003. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, December 20th at 1pm. Memorial donations may be made to The Arthritis Society.

COUTTS, David
Peacefully after a lengthy illness at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Wednesday, December 17, 2003. David Coutts, dearly beloved husband of Joan Coutts nee Parks. Loving father of Charlene Touzel and her husband Wayne of Dundas, Stephen Coutts of Oshawa, Tracey Briggs and her husband Richard of Edmonton, Alberta, Alex Coutts of Blackstock and Heather Coutts of Oshawa. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Derek, Jeff and Jenna. Dear brother of Nancy Jeyes, Mary Doucette, Roberta Ross, Sharon Hanus, Hugh and Clyde Coutts and Elizabeth Flynn. Predeceased by sisters Isabella Bell and Eileen Coutts. Sadly missed by close friend Larry. Mr. Coutts was owner of C & C Hydraulics and was a former employee of the Oshawa Times and Lymbird Lumber Company. A complete funeral service will be held at Cedardale United Church, 824 Simcoe Street South, Oshawa, on Saturday, December 20, 2003 at 3 p.m. Followed by cremation. Visitation commencing at 1 pm. Saturday at Cedardale United Church. Memorial donations to the Durham Regional Cancer Centre or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated.

DOWNING, Jean Crawford
Jean Crawford Downing is at Peace. After three years of declining health, Jean finally relinquished the reigns and succumbed to death at Lakeridge Health - Whitby on Wednesday, December 17th, 2003 in her 84th year. She served as an economist in the Government of Tommy Douglas and after further studies at the University of British Columbia attained a Masters Degree in Community Planning. As a young woman she was a formidable badminton and tennis player and won many trophies. Later in life she traveled extensively and broadened her understanding of the wider world. She will be missed by scores of friends across the country - several of whom have kept in touch with her since school days in Brandon, Manitoba. Predeceased by her father Albert Bruce and her mother Bertha Annie Downing. Survived by brother Douglas in Fredericton, N.B., and nieces Ann and Joan in N.B. and N.S. and nephews Tommy in Montreal and Eric in the Soviet Union. A Memorial Service will be held at OSHAWA FUNERAL SERVICE "Thornton Chapel" 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) on Saturday, January 10th at 11:00 A.M. In Jean's memory donations may be made to the World Wildlife Fund or Thicksons Woods Nature Reserve, in Whitby.

GREEN, Rev. James T.M.
Went home to be with the Lord, on Wednesday, December 17, 2003, at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa. James, in his 89th year. Beloved husband of Edna Green. Loving father of David and his wife Susan of Beamsville, Ted and his wife Deborah and Peter and his wife Elizabeth, all of Oshawa. Dear grandfather of Melissa, Rachel and Daniel Green; Kendall, Sayland and Bronwen Green; Sarah and Luke Green. Brother of the late Violet Sayer and Bessie Green, both of England. Fondly remembered by many relatives in England and many friends in Jamaica. Relatives and friends will be received at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME LTD., 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A service will be held at CARRIAGE COUNTRY BAPTIST CHURCH, 4830 Trulls Rd. N., (south of Taunton Rd. E.) Hampton, ON, on Tuesday, December 23, 2003 at 1:00 p.m. Interment, Mount Lawn Cemetery, Whitby. In lieu of flowers, donations made to Courtice Baptist Church Mission Fund or Grace Way Bible Society would be appreciated. Many thanks to the always-available Dr. Barry Wright.

NADON-BORG, Skylar Jade
Skylar Jade was born at Mount Sinai Hospital on Wednesday, December 17, 2003 at 12:47 a.m. Peacefully, she passed away in her Daddy's arms on December 17 at 2 a.m., surrounded by her family, her parents Amy Nadon and John Borg, her sister Jonelle, her brother Tyler, her grandparents Ray and Wendy Nadon and George and Loretta Borg, her great-grandparents Colleen and David Robb, and her uncle Andrew Nadon. She will be missed by her many aunts, uncles and cousins. A private family service will be held at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME. Interment Thornton Cemetery. Memorial donations to Mount Sinai Hospital or the Hospital for Sick Children would be appreciated.

Retired T.T.C. employee 1981.
After a lengthy illness on December 17, 2003, he will be dearly missed by his loving wife Ethel (nee Feeney), his children Mike (Barb), Chris (Barry), Julie (Sam), Rick (Sharon). Lovingly remembered by his grandchildren Lea (Marvin), Luke, Sarah, Sam, Mackenzie, Andrew, Samantha, Tyler, and his great-grandson Anthony. Friends may visit W.C. Town Funeral Home on Thursday, December 18 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A service will follow in the chapel at 8 p.m. Cremation. In lieu of flowers, best wishes or a donation to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. A special thank-you to nurse Mary and to the Palliative Care Staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa.

TURNER, Albert A. (Lefty)
Passed away peacefully at home December 17, 2003 in his 82nd year. Beloved father of Sharon (Phil) Nott & Lana (Roy) York. Granddad to Phil, Bill & Tina and great-grandpa to Zachery, Lola and Jacob. Former husband of Helen. He was an avid sportsman and a member of the Oshawa Sports Hall of Fame. His love of fishing took him to Elliot Lake where he resided for the past 15 years. He was retired from General Motors after 40 years of service and enjoyed 23 years of retirement. He was a past president and member of the Honour Guard for the Oshawa Legion Branch 43, and a member of the Moose Lodge in Elliot Lake for the past 15 years. A memorial service will be held at the Oshawa Legion, Simcoe St. S. Oshawa on Sunday, December 21, 2003 at 1:30p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. WELLMAN, Margaret Ann
