MacMILLAN, Thomas (Tom)

Peacefully at Extendicare Nursing Home, Oshawa on Thursday, June 25th, 2009 in his 83rd year. Tom was a long-time member of the Ironworkers Loc 721, Toronto. He was also a Canadian Army Veteran, member of the Canadian Corp Br. 42, Oshawa for 44 years, former member of the Royal Canadian Legion Br. 43 and the Navy Club of Oshawa. Tom will be sadly missed by his great friend and buddy of many years Charlie Stewart and Family. Tom was godfather to Charlie's children Jeannette and Robert. Also lovingly remembered by dear friends Norm & Celine Le Blanc, Mary Siller and all his friends at the "Core". Tom just loved his "Canadian Core" and his games of Euchre. Charlie would like to thank Ruby, Jennifer and Ziggy for their care and compassion over the last few years. A Memorial Service will be held at the Canadian Corps, 142 Athol St, E., Oshawa on Saturday, July 4th, 2009 at 11:00 am. Entombment of remains will be held at Our Lady of Assumption Mausoleum, Resurrection Catholic Cemetery, 355 Taunton Rd. East, Whitby on Saturday, July 11th, 2009 at 11 am. Donations in memory of Tom to the Charity of your choice would be appreciated.

McWHIRTER, Dorothy Mary Grace

Quietly after a brave battle at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Thursday, June 25, 2009. Dorothy, beloved wife of the late David McWhirter. Loving mother of Dennis (Pati), Buddy (Marie), Sharynn (Helmut Ragnitz) and Paul (Lisa). Proud Grandma of Erryn, Thomas, Jesse, Christian, Wendy, Sean, Derrick, Melanie, Danny, Katie and Great Grandmother of William, Abbie, Emma, Jackson and Caleb. Survived by her brother Terry (Margie). Dorothy will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends. Friends will be received at MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE 21 Garrard Road, Whitby (N. of Hwy 2) 905-443-3376 on Monday, June 29, 2009 from 2-4 & 6-8 pm. Memorial Service in the Mount Lawn Chapel on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 3 pm. Cremation.

NICHOLSON, David Bell

Peacefully after lengthy battle with cancer at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in his 53rd year on Thursday, June 25th, 2009. Beloved husband of Linda and the late Brigitte. Loving father of Laura and Megan. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Friday, July 3rd from 9- 10 A.M. At David's request there will be no services.

RENNISON, (Annie) May (nee Cuthbert)
May 23, 1918 - June 25, 2009

May passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Centre Oshawa at the age of 91 in the company of her beloved nephew and niece Tim and Christine Sharp. Born in Grimsby, England, she married The Reverend Geoffrey Rennison (deceased) and immigrated to Canada in the 1950's. May devoted her life to the Anglican Church and played the organ at Sunday services from the time she was a young woman, right up until one week before she passed away. Her love of music and her bright cheery smile brought so much joy to a wide number of people that she will forever be remembered as everyone's "Aunt May". She is lovingly thought of and greatly missed by family and friends in both England and Canada and by current and past parishioners and choir members of St. Peter's Anglican Church, where she could be found sitting at the organ every Sunday for the past 35 years. A Requiem Eucharist will be celebrated at St. Peter's Anglican Church in Oshawa on Monday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m.

TAYLOR, Pauline Alice Charlotte (nee Bridgett)

After a lengthy illness at Lakeridge Health - Oshawa on Thursday, June 25, 2009 at the age of 76. Beloved wife of the late Gordon Thomas Taylor. Loving mother of Colleen (Paul Sander), Ricky Gordon Taylor, Dale (Carol) Taylor, Bob (Kellie) Taylor, Gary (Eva) Taylor, Susan (Joe Watt). Cherished grandmother to Carley, Christy, Ashlee, Holly, Melissa, Joshua, Brooke, Jon, Nicholis, Braydon, and Kaley. Great-grandmother to Sophia. Sister to Danny (Betty) Bridgett and Lanny (Nancy) Bridgett. Friends may call at the MOUNT LAWN RECEPTION CENTRE, 21 Garrard Rd., Whitby (N. of Hwy 2) 905-443-3376 on Monday, June 29, 2009 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Service in the Chapel on Tuesday, June 30, 2009 at 12 Noon. Interment Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Special thanks to nurses and staff at Lakeridge Health Oshawa I.C.U. and 7 Main.

ADAIR, George E.

Our dear George passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Wednesday, June 24th, 2009 at the age of 77. Loving husband of Catharine (Dewdney) and loving father of Dave, Chris and Drew. Very proud granddad of Kelsey and Eric. George is survived by his sister Ruth Kennedy, and brothers and sisters-in-law Mary Hume, Ken and Mary Ward, Gay and Mike Ikonomidis, Doug and Donna Dewdney and many nieces, nephews, godchildren and friends. A memorial service will be held at 11 am on Monday, June 29th at All Saints Anglican Church, 300 Dundas Street West, Whitby L1N 2M5. BAGG, Lula Viola

Passed away peacefully at Hillsdale Estates on Wednesday, June 24th, 2009. Daughter of the late George and Ida Reeson, in her ninety-third year. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Bagg. Predeceased by her sisters May Jackson, Edna Yourth, & Flossie Pierson and by her brother Gordon Reeson. Survived by her stepson Graham Bagg and his wife Winnifred, several nieces, nephews and great nieces & nephews. A Private Family Service was held in the Chapel of ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, on Friday, June 26th. Interment took place at Oshawa Union Cemetery.

COURNOYER, Francoise "Fran"

Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Corp. Oshawa on Wednesday, June 24, 2009. Fran in her 84th year. Beloved wife of Leo of Oshawa. Loving mother of Roger Cournoyer and his wife Tina of Vineland ON, Gisele Cournoyer of Oshawa, Louise Paterson and her husband Bill of Oshawa, Robert Cournoyer and his wife Jeannie of Guelph, Noell Bayley and her husband Michael of Barrie and John Cournoyer of London. Dearly remembered by 9 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. At Fran's request, cremation will take place with a private family gathering to follow. Anne Sawchenko in her 98th year, beloved mother of Della Easthope and her husband Tom of Oshawa and Sharron Wypich and her husband John of Collingwood. Loving Nana of Debbie, Cheryl, Donna, Rob, Brendan, and Brianna. Proud Nana of eight great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Allan Sawchenko and his wife Letty of Port Coquitlam, B.C., and the late Ollie O'Hagan, Jean, Terry and Percy Sawchenko. Cousin of Kay Coates of Etobicoke. Special friend of Bernie Vautour of Toronto. Resting at the Thornton Cemetery Chapel, 1200 Thornton Road, North, Oshawa (905-579-6787). With Funeral Service in the Chapel on Monday, June 29th at 3:30pm. Followed by interment at Thornton Cemetery. Visitation commencing one hour prior to funeral service.
