After a long battle with illness at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Tuesday, July 28th, 2009, we are sad to say goodbye. Wonderful wife of Alan Wackett. Passed away at Lakeridge Health, Port Perry on Monday, July 27th, 2009 in his 86th year. Dearly loved husband of the late June Hoar (nee Edwards). Much loved Father of Ron and his wife Nancy of Bancroft, Rick and his wife Ingrid of Brampton, Joan and her husband John Wilson of Madoc, Mary and her husband George Empringham of Cannington, Ralph and his wife Joyce of Manilla, Beth and her husband Mike Henderson of Lafontaine, Steve and his wife Sue of Moose Creek. Grandfather of Brett, Bryan, Angela, Denise, Trudy, Amy, Christy, Jennifer, Kevin, Carol, Jeffrey, Erin, Megan, Patrick, Sarah, Kimberly, Michelle, Derek, Amanda and David. Great grandfather of 15 and one great-great-grandchild. Survived by his brother Percy Hoar. Fondly remembered by close friend Mae Hoad as well as his many friends at the Court of Brooklin. MITCHELL, Scott David
Aged 54, of Whitby Ontario, passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, on Monday, July 27, 2009, after a fierce battle with melanoma. Born in Toronto, raised and schooled in Don Mills, Scott was an active member of every community he lived in. While married to Catherine (nee Wainman) they raised two sons Adam and William, who both went on to become professional athletes. Scott's greatest joy in life was coaching his sons and the many other young aspiring athletes in Whitby. Scott was predeceased by his parents Viola and Harold and he leaves behind, one brother: Doug, sister-in-law Linda, nieces Lindsey and Laura and one sister: Heather Clark, brother-in-law Rick, nephew Jeff. Niece Amanda and husband Jay brought much joy to Scott's last year, with the introduction of the latest of Scott's great-nephews: Ethan Scott Vandyke. Scott's extended family includes many nieces, nephews and family members who will miss him greatly. Scott's remains will be cremated so there will be no viewing but there will be opportunities to pay respects and visit with the family on Thursday and Friday evenings from 6 - 8 pm at the Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens & RECEPTION CENTRE in Whitby. A Memorial Celebration and Bar-B-Que will be hosted at the same facility on Saturday, August 1st, at 11am. Peacefully at his home in Oshawa on Monday, July 27, 2009 at the age of 65. John is predeceased by his parents Mont and Martha Perrin, brothers Wilfred, George, Lenard, and Harold, and sisters Muriel, Florence and Masie. John was the youngest and the last one to pass away. John leaves behind a loving wife Verla Perrin and three children Janice, Lenard and Joyce. He also leaves behind son-in-law Greg Redden and five loving grandsons, Jesse, Justin, Jack, Jarret and Gage, also brothers and sisters-in-law, loving nieces and nephews and many loving friends.
