After a lengthy illness peacefully passed away at Lakeridge Health Oshawa on Tuesday, August 18, 2009. Beloved wife of Fred Weinsheimer. Loving sister of Karl & Pauline; Ed & Pat; Sue & Gord Vader; Richard; Jerry & Carol; Paul & Brigitt and Yvonne & Murray Traquair. Peacefully surrounded by her loving family at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Tuesday, August 18, 2009, in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late Clifford Linton. Loving mother of Lawrence (Coral), Joyce Hines (Renvil), Edward (Elma), Hermine Jordine (Maurice), Ronald (Cathrine), Violet Samuels (Herman), Noel, Cecil (Angela), Delrose Weatherburn (Roy), Albert (Lorna), Janice Baker (Glenroy), Sharon Hardine (Norman), Philbert (Ina), Maudline Young, Creaman and Elmozine Stoddard. Lovingly remembered by her 56 grandchildren and her many great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held in Jamaica. At her home in Newcastle on Tuesday, August 18, 2009 in her 80th year. Flo, dear mother of Sam and Fern of Newcastle and Gord and Jane of B.C. Sadly missed by grandchildren Angela, Kerry, Joshua, Tyler, Cory, and many great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her brothers; dear aunt of Pearl and Art Legere. A service of remembrance will be held at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Friday, August 21, at 12 noon, with visiting for one hour prior. Beloved wife of the late William Piercy, loving mother of Robert, Jeanette and Stephen, grandmother of Cynthia, Kevin and Brandon, great-grandmother of Emma, Charlotte, Andrew, Joshua and special daughter in law Sharon. Daughter of the late Edith and Sidney Roden and sister of the late Goodwin Roden. Jean and her beautiful music will be missed by friends and family. After a courageous fight with cancer, Geoffrey Gaston surrounded by his loved ones died peacefully at Uxbridge Cottage Hospital on Monday, August 17, 2009. Beloved husband of Gail. Loving father of Laura and Jacob (Joanne). Devoted Grandfather (Pa) of Ainsley, Sydney, Amber, Blake, and Alyssa. Sadly missed by his brother Barry (Gloria), sister Mary, and twin brother Al (Judy). A gathering will be held at the Mill Run Golf and Country Club (269 Regional Road 8, Uxbridge) on Sunday, August 23, 2009 between the hours of 12:00 - 5:00 p.m. with a Service to Celebrate Geoffrey's Life to begin at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Uxbridge Cottage Hospital - Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.
GEARING, Edith Rebecca (nee Graham)
At The Wynfield, Oshawa on Monday, August 17th, 2009, in her 92nd year. Edith was predeceased by her husband John Talbert (Tab) Gearing (1973). She was a loving aunt to Jean (Cliff) McIntyre, Edi McLean, James Graham, Helen (Ron) Simpson, Barbara Hughes, Jean Odd, Marion Dunn, Paul Gearing and his sister Norma, Robert Johnson (predeceased), Barry (Marnie) Johnson, Doug (Dale) Gearing, Jon (Bernice) Gearing and their children and grandchildren. In her younger years, Aunt Edie enjoyed curling and travelling with friends and family. She loved the cottage and was an avid gardener. Euchre and Lost Heir were her favourite card games. Aunt Edie was a lifetime member of Courtice/Faith United Church. Truly blessed with love from family and friends, she will be greatly missed. Visitation will be at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa on Wednesday, August 19th from 2-4 p.m. and 7-9 p.m. Service will be at Faith United Church (1778 Nash Rd, Courtice) on Thursday, August 20th at 2 p.m. (with visitation 1 hour before) and interment at Ebenezer Cemetery. Passed away unexpectedly on Monday, August 17th, 2009 in his 54th year. Loving husband of Val of Whitby and adoring Dad to their girls, Chloë and Elyse.
