On Sunday, September 27, 2009 at home with her family in her 79th year, the Lord took her hand and led her to Glory. Cherished mother of Dawn and Joel; mother-in-law of Greg and Karen; "Nana" of Sarah, Jessica and Chloe; sister of Jean. She will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends whose lives she blessed and to whom she meant so much. Passed away peacefully with her husband by her side on Saturday, September 26, 2009 at Lakeridge Health in Port Perry. Doris Wilson best friend and dearly beloved wife of Ian Wilson of Port Perry. Doris will be sadly missed by her dear sister Jeanette Watson, brother Alan Walker, Mum (in-law) Jessie Wilson, sister-in-law Christine McGeachin, brother-in-law Gordon McGeachin, niece Susan, nephew Douglas and by all of her family and friends in Canada, Scotland, England, and the U.S.A. BEERE, Florence Lucy Doreen (nee Wilson)
Born in Uxbridge to Clarence & Claire Wilson on July 21, 1927. She was one of four children. She spent most of her youth in the Niagara Region where she met William Beere in1943 and became a young bride. They moved to St. Catharines where their four children were born, three sons, Larry William, Carl Douglas, Dennis Wayne and one daughter Anna Darlene. In 1965 the family moved to the Toronto area where she raised her children. She was also privileged to live for two years in South Africa with her daughter and son-in-law. Eventually she spent the last years of her life in Bowmanville. Doreen had many struggles in her life as well as joy, and in all things looked to the Lord as her guide. She worked hard to raise her children and instill within them faith in God. Through all her struggles and illnesses, her personal faith in her Saviour Jesus Christ was always in evidence. In the end she declared that she was ready to go and be with her Lord. She breathed her last in Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Friday, September 25, 2009 with her daughter Darlene by her side. Her passing from this life to her eternal home was peaceful. Doreen was predeceased by her husband Bill, her son Doug and daughter-in-law Ruth. She is survived by her son Larry & wife Paula, son Dennis & wife Gail, daughter Darlene & husband Eric and her grandchildren Debbie, Dale, Brian, Carlene, Wendy, David, Lynette & Martin and eleven great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 29th, 2009 from 7-9 pm at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville.
