READ, George Ernest
It is with heavy hearts the Read Boys announce the passing of their Larger Than Life 'Dad' George in his 79th year on September 15, 2009. George has a new set of keys to a brand new Cadillac and is embarking on another journey. He will be greatly missed by Larry and Marian, Brent and Donna, and Craig (aka Nick). Poppy will be fondly missed by granddaughters Ashlie and Courtney. He will also be missed by granddaughter Tanya and his great-granddaughters Zoe and Ava. George was always there for the party, and it really wasn't a party until he arrived. You never had to worry about watching your back - he had it all the time. George spent many a day fishing the waters of Lake Scugog and later resided at Scugog Point - where he took all day to cut the grass and cook the chicken wings. He spent 45 years; loving every moment of it; in the overhead door business until his retirement two years ago. He loved the warmth and bars of the Florida Keys - they certainly won't be the same without him. George's mantra was "Dream as if you'll live forever. Live as if you'll die tomorrow" and what a life it was. The Legend of George is embedded in our hearts forever... Memorial donations to a Charity of your choice would be appreciated.
