Beloved mother of Judy Harper and Jane Barry (Jim) of British Columbia; Mike Harper (Cathy), Wendy Harper, Terry Harper and Nancy Harper, all of Oshawa; and the late Tommy Harper. Cherished Nana to Casey, Beau, Zachary, Cooper, Jamie, Shane, Danny, Luke, Tara, Katie, Max, Dylan and Jackson. Predeceased by her brother Thomas Hogan. Passed away peacefully at Taunton Mills Retirement Home on Thursday, September 10th, 2009 at age 80. Beloved husband of Evelyn (nee Laverty) for 59 years. Dear father of Dave and his wife Pat Holland and Donna and her husband John Huitema. Loving grandfather to Scott (Holly) Holland, Ryan (Tiffany) Holland, Stephen Holland, Kari Huitema, Michael (Colleen) Huitema, and great-grandfather to Denver, Olivia and Ella. Dear brother of Jean (Jack) Cook, Keith (Bev), Orv (Barbara) and the late Harold (Dutch) and his late wife Hilda. Ray started in the lumber business in his early teens and in 1963 opened Holland Lumber. Ray was a longstanding member of Kingsview United Church and a member of Westmount Kiwanis for 50 years. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society (Prostate Chapter) or the Alzheimer Society (Research Division) would be greatly appreciated by the family. Passed away on September 10, 2009 at Lakeridge Health, Oshawa just days from her 76th birthday. Glenda leaves behind her loving and loyal husband and best friend of 54 years Alan Watson. Her children Chris, Julia and Jane, Chris' wife Natalie and children Stephen and Scott, Julia's children Geoffrey and Emily Hyde and her brother Peter Curtis and wife Kathleen in England. Glenda also leaves behind many friends who she loved so very much. She is predeceased by her sister Lexa and son-in-law Michael Hyde. Many thanks to the nurses and doctors in Critical Care, Oshawa. Peacefully passed into our Lord's loving arms at Bowmanville Hospital after a brave battle with cancer. Being the beloved husband of Brenda he was also one of a group of seven brothers and sisters. As a devoted man of God, he was a wise, loving father and grandfather as well as sending his heart out to his nieces and nephews, extended family and friends. On Sept. 16, 2009 (Wednesday Night) at 7 o'clock a memorial service celebrating Terry's life will be held at Christ Memorial Anglican Church (81 Hillcroft St. Oshawa). If desired, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
