PAYNE, Ruby
Peacefully on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa in her 83rd year. Beloved wife of the late Bob Payne. Loving mother of Barbara Goldstone (late Fred) and Shirley Chillman. Loving Grandmother of David (Wendy), Kelly (Shawn), Melissa (Justin), Dustin (Cheryl) and Kevin (Kate), Great-Grandmother to Kristofer, Alysha, Brandon, Bailey and Makayla, as well as two soon-to-be new arrivals. Dear sister of John Selleck and the late Frank, Thelma and Beryl. Friends may call at OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King St. West (905-721-1234) for visitation on Thursday, September 10th from 7 - 9 P.M. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Friday, September 11th at 1:00 P.M. Interment to follow at Pine Hills Cemetery. If desired, donations could be made to the Children's Wish Foundation.

SMYTHSON, Barbara Ardena
At the age of 65, passed away peacefully with her family and best friend Shelagh Humphrey at her side on September 8, 2009. Barbara is survived by her loving mother Esther Nicholson, her loving husband Arnold Santos, and her loving and devoted daughters Jennifer (Jeff) and Michelle. Barbara's cherished grandchildren are Jack, Katie, Matthew and Nicole. She was fortunate to have many special siblings that adored her: Derek (Tana), Brian, Bill (Barbara), Phyllis, Geoff (Jan), Stephen (Sandie) and a host of nieces and nephews will always hold her in their hearts. Barbara is predeceased by her father Richard Ernest Nicholson and brother John Nicholson (Marilyn). Our mother will be sorely missed by her friends and we are dearly grateful to all of them for their endless love and support. Funeral Service will be held at The Gathering Place (Pickering Pentecostal Church), 1920 Bayly St., Pickering on Saturday at 10:30 a.m. Memorial donations may be made to the Princess Margaret Hospital Multiple Myeloma (www.pmhf.ca) if desired.

STIRE, Leonard Frederick
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Mr. Leonard Frederick Stire at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. He was born on December 2, 1915 at Dashwood, Ontario. He was the dearly loved husband of Gwenyth Stire (predeceased) and Olwyn Stire (predeceased). He was the dearly loved father of Judith Rosanne Coppins. He was the son of Christina & Nicholas Stire (predeceased). Dearly loved brother to Walter, Milford, Lloyd, Gord and sisters Elda, Edna and Verna, all predeceased. He was a proud grandpa to David Randolph Coppins and great-grandpa to Boston & Hunter Coppins. He leaves behind many nieces & nephews. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 11th from 2 - 4 & 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at Grace Lutheran Church (Park Road & 401) on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 11 a.m. Interment at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations to the Alzheimer Society would be appreciated.

GRAHAM, Helen Sinclair
Age 86 years. Peacefully at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Monday, September 7, 2009. Beloved wife of the late Stanley Graham. Dear sister of Ruth & Dick Wood and the late Wilma Scott. Loving daughter of the late Annetta and William Ashton. Lovingly remembered by her nieces, nephews, and many friends. Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. POWER, Elizabeth Mary
Peacefully on Monday, September 7th, 2009 at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville in her 92nd year. Beloved wife of the late Joseph. Loving mother of Geraldine Taylor (Charles), Dermot (Catherine), Elizabeth Whitehead (late Richard), Bernadette Hasenaker (Joseph), Joseph Power (Joanne), Mary Mace (late Jarvis), George Power (Deborah), Glen Power, Patricia Power (Stan) and Ramona Power. She will be sadly missed by her 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren. Dear sister-in-law to Elizabeth Le Fresne and Mary Le Fresne. In her 90th year. On September 7, 2009 peacefully went to be with her Saviour, while holding the hands and hearts of her daughter, granddaughter and great-granddaughter. Beloved wife of the late Michael . Cherished mother of Elizabeth & her husband Graham Alchin and the late John. Loving baba to Robbie (Ashley); Joy; Adam (Michelle); Robin and Cherron (Jamie) and great-baba to Sara-Kate; Owen; Trent; Abigail; Kingston and Elizabeth. Dear sister of George & Ruby Romanuk; Bill & Helen Romanuk and the late John, Nettie, Walter and Ruby. Visitation will be held at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Anna Nagy joined her beloved husband Michael on Monday, September 7th, 2009 after passing away peacefully at home. She was surrounded by family and friends throughout a courageous battle with cancer. She leaves behind her son Alex (Caroline), granddaughter Liisa (Jason), great-grandson Charles, daughter Kathy (Jozef), granddaughter Susan, grandson Jozsef (Victoria), great-grandchildren Christian and Ainsley as well as many nieces, nephews and their families. JETTEN, Johanna Maria
Surrounded by her family on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, Johanna passed away peacefully at the age of 80. Beloved wife and best friend of Gerard ('Charles') Jetten. Cherished mother of Ben (Dawn), Ed (Kathy), and Tony (Trish). Loving grandmother 'Oma' to Peter, Kayla, Marya, Jenny, Greg and Emily. Predeceased by her parents Antonius Josten and Josina van den Boomen from the Netherlands. Sister to Dina (the late Joe), the late John (Rose), the late Gerard (the late Miet), the late Maria (as an infant), Harry (Ina), Jos (Clara), Ben (the late Maria), Frits, Riet (Andre), and Piet (Corry). Dedicated her life to her family and as a caregiver to many. Special thanks to her caregivers Sandra and Shirley over the last numbers of years. No acts of kindness and prayers in her last days went unnoticed. Peacefully at Hillsdale Terraces surrounded by his family on Sunday, September 6th, 2009 in his 87th year. Son of the late Joseph and Rose Power. Beloved husband of the late Theresa (nee Corrigan) for 50 years. Dearly loved father of Paul and his wife Katherine, Mary Margaret and her husband Glenn Reeves, Maureen and her husband Peter Tiesler, Kathleen and her husband Carlo Pellarin, and Denis and his wife Lisa. Proud grandfather of Rory, Tara, and Neil Power, Lauren, Sean and Christopher Reeves, Emily and Stephanie Pellarin, and Shari-Lynn and Abby Power. Dear brother of Rita Callaghan (late Harold), and Joan Williams (Charles Doran), and the late Harold Power and Gerald Power. Brother-in-law of Hubert Corrigan, Margaret Corrigan, Mary Corrigan (late Joseph), Barbara Power, and Mary Power. Predeceased by brothers-in-law Michael Williams, Vincent Corrigan and sister-in-law Hanora Corrigan. Beloved uncle of many nieces and nephews. Dear daughter of Charlotte (Paul Tedford) and Peter Rammler (Mary) and daughter-in-law to Fred and Ann Pratt. Sadly missed sister of Wayne Rammler and Susan Shipman (Bill).
