At Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Sunday, September 6, 2009, Ray in his 55th year. Beloved husband of Marlene of Oshawa. Dear father of Brad Ramsook of Oshawa, Jason Owens and his wife Shauna of Oshawa, Ashley Owens of Oshawa and Christopher Owens of Oshawa. Loving son of Bipti Sukhan of Toronto and the late James Ramsook. Will be missed by his brothers and sisters, Ricky James and his late wife Bhaga, Rex Ramsook and his wife Gargee, late Patricia and her husband Frank Churaman, Rona and her late husband Chandi Singh, Lynette and her husband Dave Ragobeer, Deodat James and his wife Ida, Chandra and her husband Nesh Manbahadur, Ken James and his wife Paulette, Ronald James and his wife Shanta. Brother-in-law of Andrea and Sam of Belleville. Dearest friend of Janet and Steve Prosser. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, and coworkers at R.R. Donnelly Moore Oshawa. Relatives and friends will be received at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 11:00am. Donations in memory of Ray to the Canadian Cancer Society or Sick Kids Foundation would be appreciated by his family.

STRAUGHAN, Lori
Passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family and friends at Lakeridge Health Oshawa, on Sunday, September 6th, 2009 at the age of 46. Loving daughter of the late Kenneth and Florence Northey. Beloved mother of Tyler and Chad. Cherished sister of Sandee (Greg) and Carol (late Wayne). Aunt of Michelle (Scott) and Jeff, and great aunt of Kaitlyn and Owen. Lori will be dearly missed by husband Brian and his family as well as many friends. Arrangements entrusted to OSHAWA FUNERAL HOME, 847 King Street West (950-721-1234). A private service will be held at Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens. Memorial donations will be gratefully accepted for the Durham Region Cancer Centre or the Canadian Cancer Society.

THOMPSON, Myrtle Elizabeth
Passed away peacefully at Leisure World Vaughan on Sunday, September 6, 2009 at the age of 86. Beloved wife of the late Herb and lovingly remembered by her children, grandchildren, and extended family. Relatives and friends may call at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Thursday from 7-9pm and Friday from 10-12 noon. A graveside service will then follow at 1:00pm on Friday, September 11, 2009 at Zion United Church Cemetery, 5165 Enfield Rd. Hampton. Passed away at Royal Victoria Hospital, Barrie on Saturday, September 5, 2009 in her 71st year. Frances (nee: Downey) beloved wife of Harley Francis Bickmore. Loved mother of Dean and Joel. Loving grandmother of Megan, Robert, Chera and Cheyenne. Dear sister of Pam, Gail, Karen, Sandra and Jessie. Private family services will be held with interment in Bowmanville Cemetery on Tuesday, September 8, 2009. Services entrusted to the MORRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4 Division St., Bowmanville. GANZ, Ryan Wilhelm
1987-2009
It is with great sadness and heavy hearts that we would like to announce the passing of Ryan, September 5, 2009. Ryan courageously fought a 3 year battle with cancer in the form of a brain tumor. Beloved son of Garry and Denise Ganz of Oshawa. Loving brother and friend of Derek of Oshawa. Dear grandson of Ken and the late Valerie Clarke, Walter and Rose Ganz, all of Oshawa. Fondly remembered nephew of Brian and Ana Clarke, John and Bob Ganz, Mike and Lori Jenkins and their families. Will be sadly missed by his extended family and many friends. Relatives and friends will be received at McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St. E., Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Wednesday at 2-4pm and 7-9pm. Mass of Christian Burial to be held Thursday, September 10, 2009 at 10:00am at ST. GERTRUDE'S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 690King St. E. Oshawa, with cremation to follow. GIBSON, Joan (Judy)
Passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 5th 2009 in her 79th year. Wife of the late Dave Gibson. Companion to Harry Long. Loving mother to David. Cameron and the late Joanne. Sister to Bob and the late Ronnie Brodie. Aunt to Ronnie, Carol, Leslie, Julie and Leigh. Grandmother to Fiona, Rob, Cameron, Jade, Jesse, Jenna and Brittany. Great grandmother to Danella and Dylan. Devoted friend to many. Judy was a person who when she touched your life you knew she really cared. A person who never stopped giving. Even in sickness she always worried about others. The world was a better place because of her and as a wife, companion, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, she always gave it her all and made every moment special. A service will be held at the Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens on Friday at 2pm, followed by a reception. Judy's family would like to thank the staff at Durham Access to Care, Pro-Home Home Care especially Annette, her personal support workers Christina and Lynda, and the Trillium Trails nursing staff. In lieu of flowers, donation may be made through W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby, (905) 668 - 3410, to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Society of Durham Region.

AKEY, Clara (nee LoGiacco)
Into her mother Francesca's loving arms, our beautiful Clara passed away on September 4th, 2009 at the age of 47 after a valiantly-fought five-year battle with cancer. Clara will be remembered tenderly for her hearty laugh, vibrant personality, infectious smile and unwavering strength of spirit. Loving mother to Adam, Evan and Tasha. Cherished sister of Sara Ostrosser (Darrell), brothers Jack (Deb Schott) and Leo LoGiacco. Devoted aunt to Christine Kulbacki (Shane), Andrea Kulbacki (Kory), Ashley LoGiacco (Brandon), Morgan, Nicole, Francesca and Natalie LoGiacco and Joseph Gardner. Grandmother of Michael, Corey, Ashley and Jessica. Daughter of Cesare LoGiacco and wife Irene. Dearly missed by her many friends and family. Special thanks to Byron and Leila Akey and Carol Casselman for everything they did for Clara; to Dr. Dixon, Dr. Potter and Dr. Speares for their endless support; and to the palliative care nurses at Lakeridge Health Oshawa for their warmth and understanding. Age 77 years. At St. Michael's Hospital, Toronto, on Friday, September 4, 2009. Beloved husband of Ilah (nee Janes). Dear father of Scott & Katherine Bowes; Susan & Paul Coulombe; Kelly Bowes & Paul. Dear grandfather of Ashley, Amber, David, Alex, Matthew, Charalyn and Mikayla. Dear brother of Dorothy Bowes, Nancy Bisson and the late Sandra Warren. Visitation will be held at the COLLEGE PARK SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH, 1164 King St. E., Oshawa, on Wednesday, September 9, 2009 from 2 pm -3 pm. A Memorial Service will follow at 3 pm. MENARD, Leopold Rene
(World War II Veteran)
After a brief illness, Leo, in his 91st year, left this life peacefully at the Centennial Retirement Home, Oshawa, on September 4, 2009. Born April 20, 1919 in Pointe-Fortune PQ, Leo was a devoted husband to Olive (Cardinal) for 65years; proud father and Papa of Sandy(Martine); Eileen and Jim Minett (Ted, Jamie, Andrew); Gisele and Ted Drew(Joe, Kathleen, Emily); Frances and John Coleman (Bill, Buster); Joan and Gary Westoll (Katie, Tom, Jon). Great-grandpapa to Madeline Claire. He was self taught, brilliant and compassionate, proud of his French heritage and humbled by his WWII Army service. 'Joe Jack Darling' shared his joie de vivre with everyone. A heartfelt thank you to Dr. Dick Giroux and Leo's amazing girls at Centennial Retirement Home for their friendship and loving care. Family will receive friends at the McINTOSH-ANDERSON FUNERAL HOME, 152 King St E. Oshawa (905-433-5558) on Tuesday, September 8, 2009 2-4pm, 7-9pm.
