DUFFIE, David Austin
(Member of The Bowmanville Lions Club)
After a long courageous battle with cancer, it is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of David on Wednesday, January 31st 2007.
David will be greatly missed by Linda his loving wife & best friend of 24 years & by "Rusty", his 4-legged pal. He will be sadly missed by his brother-in-law Roy Brown & his wife Janice, his nieces & nephew, Michelle Strople (Peter), Mark Brown (Kim) & Cynthia Bradburn (Jay) & his great-niece, Emma also by his goddaughter Riley Galla & his many friends & neighbours. A very special & heartfelt thank you to all the wonderful staff on 6F - oncology Lakeridge Health Oshawa, for all their care & support. Visitation will take place at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville, from 2-4 & 7-9 pm on Friday, February 2nd, 2007. Funeral Service will be held in our Chapel on Saturday, February 3rd, 2007 at 11 am. Interment Bond Head Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Cancer Society.

FERGUSON, David Colin
Suddenly after a lengthy illness at his residence on Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 at the age of 55. Beloved son of Joan Ferguson of Fenelon Falls. Loving father of Marissa, Sheri and Ryan Ferguson. Dear Papa of Nathan, Jasmine and Chelsea. Dave will be sadly missed by his sisters, Karen and Colleen and his brothers, Rick, Gary and Jim. Passed away peacefully at Thorntonview Long Term Care on Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 at the age of 91 years. Eva predeceased by her loving husband, Frank (1954). Dear mother of Jim (Catherine), Fred (Debbie) and Donna (David). Cherished Grandmother of Melissa (Justin), Amanda (David), Michael, Katherine (Joey), Kerry, Laura and Ryan. Adored Great-Grandmother of Dylan and Riley. Survived by her sister, Margaret O'Connell. She will be missed by many nieces and nephews. At Lakeridge Health Bowmanville on Wednesday, January 31, 2007 at the age of 79 years. Ray, beloved husband of Norma (nee: Vaughan) and the late Betty (nee: Marshall). Loved father of Penny and her husband, Keith Kelly, Ron and his wife, Heather, Michele and her husband, Steven Fowler. Loving grandfather of Jennifer and her husband, Mike, Kerri-Ann, Amanda, Scott, Melissa and Ryan. Loved great-grandfather of Emma, Aiden and Sydney. At Ross Memorial Hospital in Lindsay on Wednesday, January 31st, 2007 in her 61st year. Survived by her beloved husband, Victor E. Wilbee. Loving mother of Thomas of Brantford, Sherrie Lee McRae of Oshawa and Dustin of Dunsford. Dear sister of Frances Davies of Lindsay, Glenda DeForge (the late Omer) of Oshawa, Lynn McQuarrie (Ralph) of Collingwood. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. BEATON, Alexander (Alex)
On Tuesday, January 30, 2007 at the age of 66. Surrounded by his family after battling and determined to conquer prostate cancer, at Whitby Lakeridge Hospital. Beloved husband of Debbie. Loving father of Lynn, Ryan, Brittany and Faith. Brother of A.J., Donald Alex, Jeanette, Minnie, Mamie and Mary Janet. Alex will be fondly remembered for his deep love of the Lord and his ongoing love and devotion for his family. He touched many lives with his positive attitude and strong appreciation for the gift of life. He will be greatly missed! Friends and family can attend the visitation at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby 905-668-3410 on Friday, February 2, 2007 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. The funeral will be held at Faith Family Church, 75 Chambers Drive, Ajax Ontario 905-619-1109 on Saturday, February 3, 2007 at 1 pm with a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, donations will be accepted.

CLAPHAM, Kathleen
(Longtime Ajax resident; since 1942)
Born May 12, 1911.
Died peacefully at Taunton Mills Nursing Home on Tuesday, January 30, 2007 on her 96th year, surrounded by the love and support of her loyal family. Beloved wife of 59 years to the late Wally Clapham. Devoted mother of Mary Gail and her husband, John Lederer, George and his late wife, Mary, Joyce and her husband, Ralph Hoar. Much loved grandmother of Chris, Ian and his wife Courtney, and Mark Lederer, Trevor, Steve, and Dennis Clapham, and Jeff, Erin and Megan Hoar. Predeceased by her parents, John Goheen and Mary Barker, and siblings, Della Parr and Irvine Goheen. The family will receive friends at St. Paul's United Church, 65 King's Crescent, Ajax on Thursday, February 1, 2007 from 12:00-1:00pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm. If so desired, donations to the Alzheimer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be appreciated.

CURRY, Mildred "Millie"
Passed away peacefully at Community Nursing Home, Pickering on Tuesday, January 30th, 2007 in her 96th year. Millie was born in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Daughter of the late Annie Mills Curry, and Charles Curry. Sister of the late William (Bill) Busby Curry and the late Margaret Grace (Peggy). Survived by her dear sister-in-law, Gwen Curry of Scarborough, nephew, Wayne and his wife, Julia of Courtice, niece, Anne-Marie and her husband, Michael Day of Ottawa, and many grand-nieces and nephews. A longtime member of Riverdale Presbyterian Church, and a 47-year employee of Acme Farmers Dairy (Dominion and Sealtest). Should family and friends so desire, donations to Bloorview MacMillan Children's Centre or to the Parkinson Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Peacefully on Tuesday, January 30th 2007 At Lakeridge Health Bowmanville. Cherished husband for 58 years to Marjorie Jensen. Loving father to Don & his wife, June, Cathy, Garth & his wife, Laurie, and to John. He was a dear grandfather to 8 grandchildren & great-grandfather to 5 great-grandchildren. Chester will be sadly missed by all his family & friends & also by his "Church Family" at Courtice Baptist Church. Visitation will take place at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division Street N., Bowmanville, on Thursday, February 1sth, 2007 from 7-9 pm. Funeral Service will take place in our Chapel Friday, February 2nd, 2007 at 11 am. Interment will follow in Bowmanville Cemetery. Memorial Donations may be made to The Diabetic Association or to Courtice Baptist Church.
