Passed away peacefully at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Friday, January 5th, 2007 in his 57th year. Beloved son of the late Andrew and Lena Munro. Loving brother of Grace Manns and her husband Reg. STRICKERT, Sarah Anne
Peacefully, after a short illness on Friday, January 5, 2007 at the Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry, at age 85. Anne (nee Rees) was born in Davidson, Saskatchewan and spent her early years there. In 1947 she married Earl Strickert in Regina. They moved to Toronto in 1949 and later resided in Chapleau and Marathon, before moving to Thunder Bay in 1971 and finally Brooklin in 2004. She was predeceased by her son Darwin in 1949 and her husband Earl in 1980. Anne is survived by her son Robert Strickert and his wife Wendy of Port Perry, her daughter Joan Huggins of Thunder Bay, and her 3 grandsons Brad, Jay and Graham Strickert. The Family of Anne Strickert received friends at the Harbourview Funeral Centre in Thunder Bay on Monday, January 8th from 7 - 9 p.m. A Service to celebrate her life was held in the Lakeview Presbyterian Church in Thunder Bay on Tuesday, January 9th at 11 a.m. Interment Sunset Memorial Gardens, Thunder Bay. Peacefully at the Ajax and Pickering Health Centre on Friday, January 5, 2007, at the age of 50, after a three year battle with cancer. Beloved daughter of Helen and the late Maurice Yeoman. Colin Wilding, a W.W. II Veteran, and employee of Canada Post for 30 years, has passed away in his 81st year on January 5, at Lakeridge Health Bowmanville, after residing at Hillsdale Terraces in Oshawa, Ontario for the past four years. Colin will be missed by beloved wife and best friend, Marion Wilding. Son of deceased father Sidney and mother Doris. Predeceased by brother Sidney. Survived by brother Ray (Thelma), daughter Bonny Belfry of Toronto, son Colin of Montreal, and all other family members including: Jim (Irene), Terry (Ginny), Heather (Gary), Wendy, Wayne (Luanne); grandchildren: Sean, Michael, Kevin, Scott, Christopher, Melissa, Jake and Zachary, as well as three great-grandchildren. A special thanks to the staff of Hillsdale Terraces for their kindness and care to Colin and to all other friends and family for their support. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 13. Dear mother of Nancy Grey of Kingston, the late Colleen Johnson (William Barlow) of Oshawa, Noreen (John Warren) of Oshawa, Harry Cavan (Lynn) of Wellington, Jack Cavan of Pickering, Lawrence Cavan of Oshawa, Eileen (Brian Robertson) of Etobicoke, and Edward Cavan (Rita) of Orillia. Sadly missed by 26 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great- grandchildren. Sister of Dean and Louise Dunn of Vancouver and the late Lawrence, Gus, Theresa, Rose, and Millie. Remembered by many nieces and nephews. Following cremation, a memorial prayer service will be held at the NEWCASTLE FUNERAL HOME, 386 Mill St. S. (just north of 401 at the lights) on Wednesday, January 10, 2007, at 8:00 p.m., with visiting for one hour prior to the service. Passed away peacefully surrounded by loving family at Lakeridge Health-Oshawa on Thursday, January 4th, 2007 at the age of 64. Survived by his devoted wife Dawn (Cook), sons: Roger (Donna) and Brent (Jen), daughters: Taryn (Rob), Lisa, Barb (Alan) and Kim (Lorne). Proud Grampa of Cody, Chase, James, Christopher, Alissa, James Jr., Jayden, Holden, Travis, Kayla and Alanna. He will be missed by his cat Uma. Son of Mary (nee Manning), oldest brother and leader of the pack to Don (Geri), Doug, Brian (Lesia), Stephen (Mary Lou) Ladysmith, B.C., Phillip (Aileen) and Rosemary (Mathew) Jones. Predeceased by brothers Tommy (1949) and Peter (2002). Uncle and Great Uncle to numerous nephews and nieces. Trusted friend to many. Jim was a former G.M. Oshawa employee from the late 1950's until his retirement due to health in 1986. Jim was a heart transplant recipient in 1994 and a Heartlinks Club member. He was an avid motorcyle enthusiast for the past 48 years. (Golden Hawk Riders 1960 - 1967) and the International Retreads, Ontario Kawartha District for the past 20+ years. Jim enjoyed long distance motorcycle rallies in Canada and the U.S. He was happiest when cruising on 2 wheels or with his family and friends. Jim faced death numerous times and was fearless in the face of it. He was an inspiration to all who met him and was known far and wide by many for his true courage, integrity and selflessness.
