Daughter of Mary and Michael Sytnyk. Sister of William, Jessica, Mary, and Victoria. Anna is predeceased by siblings Pearl, Helen and Alexander. Mother of Deanna and Barbara. Deanna married Jack Wiley; they have two sons Ryan and Matthew (wife Kirstin). Barbara married John Humphreys; they have three daughters, Nancy (husband Ian Henderson), Kathryn and Beth (husband David Ratcliffe). Great-Grandmother of Maggie and Cate Ratcliffe; Adam and Elinor Henderson. Anna was born and raised in Oshawa and was co-owner of DePaul Fashions Ltd. for over 30 years. Once an avid bowler, curler and golfer -- and always a loyal fan of the Oshawa Generals and the Toronto Maple Leafs -- Anna will be remembered by friends and family for her independent spirit, her joyous sense of humour and the generous love that enveloped us all. Retired auctioneer, went quietly to be with his Lord and Saviour on Wednesday, January 3rd, 2007 at Lakeridge Health Centre in Port Perry. Reg Johnson, in his 87th year, was the beloved husband for nearly 62 years of Marion Gorrell of Sunderland. Dear father of Dr. Larry Johnson (Donna) of Peterborough and Lynne Marie of Sunderland. Loving grandfather of Dr. Darrell Johnson (Lorie) of Corryton, Tennessee, Darlene Martin (Ben) and Deanne Johnson of Lynchburg, Virginia and great-grandfather of Madison and Mya Martin and Emmaline Johnson. Predeceased by brother Walter and sisters Marion, Reta and Lila. A celebration of Reg Johnson's life will be held on Saturday, January 6th, 2007 at 2:00 pm from Sunderland United Church. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Mary Jane Sanderson on December 3rd, 2006 in Destin, Florida. Born in London, Ontario on July 21st, 1938. Predeceased by her parents Gladys and Jack Sanderson. She enjoyed a successful career for many years teaching in the Public Elementary Schools in Oshawa. She will be missed by many friends and colleagues. Lifelong best friend of Lorna Grabko (nee Thompson) of Courtice who cared for her during her long illness. Fondly remembered by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and friends. Heather spent several years at the CIBC and has many friends and clients who will remember her. Loving father of Victoria Jean Silver of Lewiston, Maine. Lovingly remembered by his sister Diana L. Marsh of Victoria, BC. and his mother-in-law Norma D. Scrivener of Thornhill, ON. Retired from Bell Canada after 30 years of service. For 13 years served with the Town of Newcastle Fire Department at Station Four Courtice. CARROLL, Lana Marie
On January 1, 2007, at 50 years of age, Lana Marie Carroll suddenly died at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Lana fought the odds all her life, right from birth. She was a champion who loved animals, especially her cats Ralphina, Rustina, and Frankie. She did all she could to help the disabled in Oshawa and worked for many years with Handi-Transit. More recently she worked for the Ontario Ministry of Finance. Lana was once voted Woman of Distinction in Durham Region. She loved movies, Barbra Streisand, Marlon Brando, Brian Dennehy, and a good steak. She was beautiful, had fun in her eye, and had a joy for the simple things in life. Lana will never be forgotten by her brother Michael Carroll, her twin sister Lynne Kerr, her brother-in-law Bill Moore, her sister Lisa Van Druten, her brother Steven Van Druten, her niece Laurie Kerr, her nephew Jay Costescu and her beloved stepmother Julie Carroll.
