LAIRD, Susan
Passed away peacefully at Fosterbrooke Long Term Care Facility on Friday, February 9th 2007, just 3 days before her 101st birthday. Dear sister of the late Annie (her twin sister) Elsie, Ernie, Jake - Alf. Loving Aunt to her nieces - nephews, her great nieces - great nephews - to her great-great nieces - great-great nephews. A very special - heart felt thank-you to all the staff - residents at Fosterbrooke for all their care, compassion - friendship towards Susie. A Private Family Service will take place at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville. Cremation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Maple Grove United Church.

MAKARCZUK Peter
Retired ship Chief Engineer.
Peacefully in his sleep at his residence in Oshawa on Friday, February 9th 2007. Peter, beloved husband of Eugenia for 42 years. Loving father to Martha and Linda. Brother of the late Steve Makarczuk and his wife Mary. Will be sadly missed by many cousins and friends. Resting at the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East Oshawa with Mass of Christian Burial at St. Hedwig's Roman Catholic Church on Monday, February 12, 2007 at 10 a.m. Interment at Thornton Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated by the family. Visitation Sunday 2 - 4 p.m. and 6 - 8 p.m. with prayers at 7 p.m.

McCUNE, Cheryl Annette
Age 55 years.
Peacefully on February 9th 2007 at Lakeridge Health Oshawa. Loving mother of Janelle - her husband Tracey McGlashan and of Brandon Alexander - his girlfriend Michelle Boudrias. Dear sister of Kathy Mott and of Cindy - her husband Jim Colvin. She will be sadly missed by the father of her children Barry Alexander - his wife Catherine. She was the dear grandmother of Rebecca McGlasan. Cheryl is survived by her 2 nephews Jason - Kevin Mott. She leaves behind a dear feline friend "Jaeden". A great loss will be felt by all her family - her many friends. A very special - heart felt thank-you to nurses Laurie, Tracy, Katie, Ian, Anne, Tina, Emily, Andrea - to Dr. Eisenstat - the rest of the Continuing Care Unit for all their kindness. Visitation will take place at THE NORTHCUTT ELLIOTT FUNERAL HOME, 53 Division St. N. Bowmanville, from 7-9 pm on Thursday, February 15th, 2007. Funeral Service will be held in our Chapel on Friday, February 16th, 2007 at 1 pm. Cremation. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Lupus Foundation or The Hospital for Sick Children.

NICHOL, Angela Florence
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Angie Nichol (nee Sicoli), of Whitby Ontario on Friday, February 9, 2007 in her 61st year. Beloved wife of James Nichol and loving mother to Christopher. She will be greatly missed by her sisters and brothers - Aggie and husband Dick Sandrelli; Frank and Helen Sicoli; Jean and husband David Nadalin and Alfie Sicoli. The picture gallery of her nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews is testimony to her love for all of them. Angie was actively involved with Slo-Pitch Tournaments and had many friends throughout Ontario and the United States. She was a longstanding employee of Totten Sims Hubicki Associates. The family will receive friends at the W.C. TOWN FUNERAL CHAPEL, 110 Dundas Street East, Whitby (905-668-3410) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9pm Tuesday. Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at St. John the Evangelist Church, 903 Giffard Street, Whitby on Wednesday, February 14, 2007 at 10am. Interment, Mount Lawn Memorial Gardens, Whitby. In lieu of flowers, a contribution to the Heart - Stroke Foundation or Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family.

PSHNYCHNY, Anna
Passed away suddenly at her residence on Friday, February 9, 2007. Annie was born in Sydney, Nova Scotia. She was employed by General Motors for 35 years and was a member of the GM Retirees. She enjoyed more than 25 years of retirement in Maple Leaf Estates, Port Charlotte, Florida where she loved the sunshine and riding her bike. Annie is predeceased by her parents Pauline and Stefan Pshnychny, her sister Mary (John) Kostuk, four brothers Steve (Mary), John, Peter and Michael nickname Nicky Pynisky and also nephew Paul Pynisky. Annie will be very sadly missed by her niece Pauline Davis. She will also be missed by her niece Bonny and her husband Bob Munro, great nieces Jaclyn, Kristin, great nephew Michael Munro of New Brunswcik. She will also be missed by her sister-in-law Mel Pynisky. Annie will also be dearly missed by her niece Patricia Garbutt, great niece Kimberly and her husband Travis Sweet, great nephew Jonathon Auger and his wife Terry. She is also survived by nephew Steve Pynisky, wife Barbara and great nieces Andrea and Sarah Pynisky and great nephew Paul Pynisky. Annie had many long time close and wonderful friends and will be lovingly remembered. Annie's wishes were to be cremated. A special memorial service for friends and family to attend will take place at a later date and will be announced. Arrangements entrusted to the ARMSTRONG FUNERAL HOME, 124 King Street East, Oshawa.

Peacefully after a brief illness at Strathaven Lifecare Centre on Thursday, February 8, 2007 in his 86th year. Michael, beloved husband of the late Laurie Kuruliak. Loving father of Michael (Betty) of Port Alberni BC, Caroline and her husband Wesley Bateman of Kingston NS, William (Debbie) of Red Rock, ON. Loved grandfather (Geda) of Paula, Lia, Dana, Tara, Jodi, Jason, Ryan, Sarah, Kimberley, Katie, Chris, Justin and 5 great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his parents William and Anne; brothers, Nick, Peter, Paul, John; sisters, Mary, Helen, Olga, Adele and Rose. Survived by many nieces and nephews. Friends may pay their respects at the MORRIS FUNERAL CHAPEL, 4 Division Street, Bowmanville on Sunday, February 11, 2007 from 2 - 4 - 7 - 9 p.m. Funeral service in the Morris Chapel on Monday, February 12, at 1 p.m. Interment Bowmanville Cemetery. Peacefully at her home on Thursday, February 8th, 2007. Survived by her loving husband of 57 years, Neil Mallette, one daughter Wendy (Dennis) Elizuk of Port Hope and predeceased by her loving son Brian. Will be sadly missed by her brother Hugh Hunsdale. Lovingly remembered by her grandchildren Dave (Janet) of Port Hope and Daryl of Peterborough. As per Mary Jane's request there will be no service.
