PALMER, Maria
Suddenly at the Brockville General Hospital on Thursday, October 20, 2005, Maria Palmer (nee Albers) of Brockville, age 65. Beloved wife of the late Michael Palmer. Mother of Leigh Anne Palmer (Fred Tarlington) of Brockville and Gerard “Gerrit” (Raquel) of Manitoba. Grandmother of Michael and Mark Palmer. Sister of Ben (Margaret) Albers of RR2 Iroquois, Bill (Alberta) Albers of RR2 Brinston, and Kitty (Gerrit) Lansink of Holland. Predeceased by a sister, Anne Westover, and brothers Martin, George, Henry, John and Bernard. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
A private family service will be held. Interment St. Anne’s Cemetery, Dixons Corners. Donations to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Ottawa Heart Institute would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Cardinal, (657-4848).

GFELLER, Peter
Peacefully at his sister’s home in Whitby with his family by his side, following a courageous battle with cancer, on Sunday, October 16, 2005, Peter Gfeller of RR1 Cardinal, age 67. Beloved son of Juliana Gfeller (nee Helstein) of Oshawa. Dear brother of Irene Rosbottom (Art) of Whitby and Ursula Welland (Robert) of Clyde River, NS. Also survived by three nieces and one nephew, Stephanie Benincasa, Julie Rosbottom, Gregory Welland and Lisa Welland. Predeceased by his father Paul Ernst Gfeller.
Friends may call at the Marsden & McLaughlin Funeral Home, Cardinal, on Saturday, October 22nd from 10 a.m. until time of service. Memorial service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday, October 22nd at 11 a.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to Kingston General Hospital Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Interment of cremated remains - Riverside Cemetery, Cardinal.

KELSEY
Elaine Mercedes Kelsey-Wright
It is with great sorrow, sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our angel Elaine Mercedes Kelsey-Wright, on Saturday, October 15, 2005 at Bluewater Health, Palliative Care, Sarnia at the young age of 38. Elaine has touched many, many lives. Her beautiful loving spirit, her warmth and her smile only brushed the surface of this wonderful woman and who she was. Treasured wife and best friend of Marc Wright. Loving and caring mom to Noah and good friend of his mom Kelly Murray. Loving and devoted daughter of the late Ella Felix (2002) and Ernest Felix of Newfoundland. Cherished daughter-in-law of Buck and Jessie Wright of Sarnia, and Shirley DeJong and Robert Kelsey of Charleston Lake. Much loved sister of Roger and Joy of Ottawa, Monte and Jimmy of Stratford and nephews Tristen and Jamie. Predeceased by her first husband Gregory Kelsey and grandmas Paterson and Wright. Beloved niece of Susan Graham, Ross and Karen Durance, Bert and Jeannette Paterson and Marion Clark. Also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews in Ontario and Newfoundland. Elaine captured the hearts of many including neighbours on McCrie and Cherry Drive, and her loving and devoted friends Tabby, Beth, Leah, Charlene, Marie, Lisa, Jeannette, Paris, Nat, Judy, Trish, Tanya, Jen, Leitha, Mara, Tony and many more. She was an inspiration to all who knew her including her many friends at Woodbridge Foam, Corunna. She will be sadly missed but lovingly remembered by all who knew her.
Visitation will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia on Friday, October 21st from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Celebration of Elaine’s life will be held in the Chapel at McKenzie & Blundy on Saturday, October 22nd at 10 a.m. with Pastor Debra McGill officiating. Cremation to follow. The interment will be held at Glen Elbe Cemetery in Athens at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Sarnia & District Humane Society, 131 Exmouth St., Sarnia, N7T 7J4. A tree will be planted in memory of Elaine Kelsey-Wright in the McKenzie & Blundy Memorial Forest. Dedication service Sunday, September 17th, 2006 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wawanosh Wetlands Conservation Area.

PURDY, J. Dwight
At Kingston General Hospital on Sunday, October 16, 2005, Dwight Purdy of Elgin in his 60th year. Beloved husband of Barbara Benger. Dear son of Geraldine Purdy of Ottawa and the late Joseph Purdy. Dear father of Gillian (Randy) of Ottawa, Ryan (Dinah) of Sudbury. Dear brother of Stephen (Mary) of Ottawa. Cherished grandpa of Zachary. Dear son-in-law of Myrtle Benger of Ottawa and the late John Benger. Dear brother-in-law of Shirley (David), Melodie (David), Sandra, Bonnie (Michel). Tim (Jill). Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
“Liturgy of the Word” will be held in St. Columbanus Church, Elgin on Wednesday afternoon at 2 o’clock. Rite of Committal, St. Columbanus Cemetery, Elgin. Following the Committal Service the family will receive friends for a time of fellowship and refreshment at the Elgin Lions Club Hall, Main Street, Elgin until 7 o’clock. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Cancer Centre of Southeastern Ontario, Kingston or the Charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. STANFORD, Linda Pauline
Peacefully at the Peterborough Regional Health Centre, Palliative Care on Sunday, October 16, 2005, Linda (Gill) of Lakefield, was in her 58th year. Beloved wife of Bryan Stanford. Loving mother of Tracy Bulger (Toby Lloyd) of Buckhorn and Kelly Ann Corrigan (Patrick) of Peterborough. Loving grandmother of Dayle Ann and Devin Bulger. She will be missed by her family and friends.
A private family graveside service will be held at Oakland Cemetery, Brockville at a later date. If desired, donations in memory of Linda may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society through the Little Lake Cemetery Company, 915 Haggart Street, Peterborough, Ontario K9J 2Y1. (1-800-672-9652).

WATTS, Lyle
R.C.A.S.C., Veteran WWII
Entered into rest peacefully at Kingston General Hospital on Friday, October 14, 2005, as the result of an injury at home, Lyle Watts of Mallorytown, Ontario, beloved husband of the late Lorraine Watts (”Billie” Purtell), in his 89th year. Born in Kingston, the son of the late Stephen Watts and Laurenza Boyer. Predeceased by his brothers Albert, Bill and Russell and sisters Ethel, Minnie and Florrie. He will be sadly missed by his sisters-in-law, Mrs. Kay Watts of Kingston, Ontario, Mrs. Anne Purtell of Carleton Place, Ontario and his brother-in-law, Bob Purtell and his wife Mary Lou of Oshawa, Ontario. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Sadly missed by his many good friends in the Brockville and Mallorytown area, as well as his special friend “Tom” the cat.
As per Lyle’s request, there will be a Graveside Service on Wednesday, October 26th, 2005 at 1:00 p.m. in Kingston at the Cataraqui Cemetery on Sydenham Road, just south of the Old Christ Church, followed by light refreshments at a local establishment. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Tompkins Funeral Home in Kingston. As expressions of sympathy and remembrance, we ask that you smile and think of Lyle and how he touched your life in some small way.

ALLISON, Janet
On Thursday evening, September 29th, 2005 at Sherwood Park Manor, Brockville, the former Janet Cunningham, at the age of 91 years. Beloved wife of the late Trevor Allison. Dear mother of Nancy Bergman (Bart) of Kenora, Lynn Fyle (Dick) of Ottawa, Mary Cope (Brian) of Princeton and David Allison (Ann) of Brockville. Fondly remembered by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Also survived by her brother John and sisters Helen, Mary and Alison.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Sunday, October 2nd from 3 o’clock until the time of the service in the Chapel at 4 o’clock. A Reception will follow in the Irvine Reception Centre. Cremation will take place at Roselawn Crematorium with private interment in Maple Ridge Cemetery, Winchester. In remembrance, donations to Sherwood Park Manor will be gratefully acknowledged.

DOBSON, Rosalind Margaret
(Evans, McKnight)
Formerly of Maitland on Friday, September 23rd, 2005 at Mt928-3296. Sinai Hospital, Toronto, in her 88th year, due to complications following hip surgery. Predeceased by brothers Bill and Lloyd Evans. Loving wife of Donald A. Dobson for 55 years. Missed and loved by daughters Joan Hickey, Nancy Zack and stepdaughter Susan Thorburn (Lyn), son Gordon McKnight (Margo), grandchildren Will (Janice and Sean Gaherty, Catherine McKnight, Andrew and Christopher Zack. She will also be missed by her friends.
A Celebration of her life was held at the Badminton and Racquet Club, Toronto. If desired, donations may be made to your favourite charity or to the Princess Margaret Hospital Foundation, 610 University Avenue, Toronto, Ontario M5G 2M9 and would be greatly appreciated.

GRAY, Hazel I.
Peacefully at Perth and Smiths Falls District Hospital on Thursday, September 29, 2005, Hazel Young of Westport, in her 97th year. Widow of Leslie Gray. Dear mother of Robert and his wife Jenny and Tommy. Predeceased by daughter Wilma Ryan and sons Raymond and Russell. Dear sister of Alma Arthurs of Calumet, P.Q., and Russell Young of Brownsburg, P.Q. Predeceased by sisters Lyda Smith, Violet Stringer, Mabel Young, Eunice Thorburn, Minerva Young and brothers James, Everett and Owen Young. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Thursday, September 29th, 2005, Eileen Phillimore (nee Templeton) of Cardinal, in 86th year. Beloved wife of the late Thomas Phillimore. Loving mother of Cheryl Phillimore-Marriner of Cardinal and Kathryn and her husband Brian McCulloch of Brooklyn, Ontario. Cherished grandmother and great-grandmother to Todd Deschamps, Tyler Deschamps, Thomas Deschamps, Diana Lee Johnston, Brendan McCulloch, Ryan McCulloch, Alyssa, Devon, Shelby, Cole, Emily, Erin and Cameron. Predeceased by sisters Eleanor Frame and Olive Miller and by brothers Leslie and Alan Templeton. Also survived by nieces and nephews.
