ROBLEE, Gordon Eugene
Peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on February 9th, 2005 in his 81st. year. Beloved husband for 58 years to Louise Roblee of Prescott. Cherished father of Barbara and her husband Bob of Windsor and Peter of Calgary. Much loved Grampie to Matthew, Michael, Jamey, Josh and great-grandson Jacob. Predeceased by son Donald Roblee.
At Gordon’s request there will be no visitation or funeral. The Royal Canadian Legion Branch 97 will hold a memorial service at the Chris Slater Funeral Home Chapel, 416 Dibble Street West, Prescott on Saturday, February 12, 2005 at 1 p.m. For those wishing the family would appreciate donations to a charity of your choice.
BURNS, Alan
Alan passed away on February 4, 2005 surrounded by his close friends, at the Rosedale Hospice, after a courageous battle with cancer at the age of 56 years. He is survived by his loving mother Beatrice Burns, ten brothers and one sister, as well as numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Al is predeceased by his father Bruce and one brother. His is a former member of the Canadian Military, Lord Strathconas. Alan worked at the school board for 21 years. Fuzzy will be greatly missed by the students and staff of Woodbine Elementary School and his little companion Tessie. A special thank you to all the staff at the Rosedale Hospice.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Rosedale Hospice (Hospice Calgary Foundation, Suite 900, 833 4th Ave. SW, Calgary, Alberta T2P 3T5.
EASTON, Donald
Entered into rest at the Brockville General Hospital, on Sunday, February 6th, 2005. Donald Oliver Easton, of Brockville, age 66 years. Son of the late Charles William Easton and his wife Wilma Bower Easton. Dear brother of William Ross Easton and his wife Trudy, James Lake and his wife Barbara, and Thomas Lake and his wife Janet all of Brockville. Survived by a sister-in-law Gail Easton of Brockville and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a brother Edward Easton of Brockville and a sister Anne Neville of Trenton.

HEFFERNAN, Gerald E
Peacefully at the Sherwood Park Manor on Saturday, February 5, 2005, Gerald Heffernan of Cardinal in his 76th year. Beloved husband of Claudette Heffernan. Loving father of Lyn and her husband Kevin Murray of Cardinal and Carol and her husband Geoffrey Burton of Stouville. Dear brother of Rena and her husband Ray Lindsay of Calabogie, Anne and her husband Len Bissell of Whitby and Ted Heffernan of Ottawa. Predeceased by a sister Ethel Robertson. Sadly missed by four grandsons, Hayden, Travis, Cameron and Tanner. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew’s and St. James Presbyterian Church, Cardinal on Thursday, February 10th at 1 p.m. Donations to the Sherwood Park Manor or the Diabetes Association would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

Suddenly at the Brockville General Hospital on Monday, February 7, 2005, Velma Linnen of Cardinal in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late Clarence Linnen. Loving mother of Gary (Anna), Glen (Lorna) all of Cardinal, Rick (Joan) of Prescott and Susan (Bill) Phillips of St. Catharines. Sadly missed by eight grandchildren, Leianna (Dave), Ridley, Lisa (Steve) Bell, Heida (Dave) MacDonald, Nancy (Nino) Dettorre, Rodney (Chris), David, Scott and Beth and 16 great-grandchildren. Survived by two sister-in-laws Jean Riddell of Cornwall and Marjorie Brown of Brockville. Predeceased by a grandson Bradley Phillips, by two sisters Jean Miller and Evelyn Riddell and two brothers Lloyd and Arnold Riddell. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Entered into rest at the St. Lawrence Lodge on Tuesday, February 1st, 2005, Joseph Elmer Bertrend of Brockville, age 86 years. Beloved husband of the late Alice Doreen Cole Bertrend. Dear father of Bill Bertrend and his wife Monique of Brockville, Caroline Doucette of Kingston, Albert Bertrend and his wife Mary of Tincap, Crystal Letts and her husband Terry of Johnstown, Mary Limbeck and Dale Bretrend and his wife Donna, all of Brockville. Survived by 22 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Also survived by a son-in-law Ken Young of Brockville, a brother-in-law Joe Kelso of Kemptville and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a son Terry, a daughter Bonnie Young and a sister Mary Kelso.

Predeceased by daughter Cunera Cole and son-in-law Fred Cole. Predeceased by several brothers and sisters. Fondly remembered by grandchildren Troy, Manon, Jon, Christine, Brian and Nicole, also great-grandchildren Isaac, Mary Jane and Jayna.

Peacefully at her residence, with her daughter Carolyn by her side, on Tuesday, February 1st, 2005. The former Anna May Derbyshire, age 96 years. Beloved wife of the late Donald (Don) Ferguson. Loving mother of Don Ferguson Jr. and his wife Sue of Calgary, Alan Ferguson and his wife Lynn of Newmarket, Carolyn Ferguson of Ottawa, and Marilyn Crowley and her husband David of Perth. Dear grandmother of Dan Ferguson and his wife Sharie of Red Deer, Alberta, Cathy Tully and her husband Keith of Calgary, Rob Ferguson and his wife Heather of White Rock, B.C., Janet Smith and her husband Gord and Lisa Crowley and her husband David Firman, all of Pickering. Also survived by nine great-grandchildren, four sisters-in-law, Pat Derbyshire of Kingston, Ursula Shaffer and her husband Ernie, Bessie Ferguson and Kaye Ferguson, all of Brockville, as well as several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by a daughter Bettina (Betty) Ferguson, her parents Philip Derbyshire and his wife Elizabeth Stevenson Derbyshire, a brother Dan Derbyshire, and three half-sisters, Lula Eyre, Effie Fournier and Gertrude Cooper.

Carolyn has entered into rest to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 30th, 2005. She was the beloved wife of William Harris of Brockville. Loving mother of Tyler and Ryan Harris of Brockville. She will be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters Patricia Neilson (Terry) of Lansdowne, Elizabeth Saunders (Alex) of Bath, Patrick Adams (Arlene) of Kingston, Theresa Adams (James), John Adams (Pauline), all of Bath and Deborah Morow (Brad) of Kingston. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her parents John Adams and his wife Margaret Eileen Barrette Adams.

Passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, January 30, 2005, Tracy (McKinnon) Hopkins, at the age of 24 years. Loving wife of Will Hopkins. Dear mother of Donovan and Damian. Beloved daughter of Linda McKinnon and Rolland Boulley. Tracy will be sadly missed by her grandmother Marie McKinnon; brothers Jacob and Lucas Boulley; in-laws Manny and Cindy Comez; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.
