BAKER, The Reverend Jean W.
Minister of the United Church of Canada, having recently retired as Minister of Christ United Church, Lyn. Passed away peacefully after a valiant struggle and in the care of her loving family on Sunday, January 23rd, 2005 at her home in Brockville, the former Jean Porteous at the age of 53 years. Beloved mother of Dawn O’Brien (Marvin Hudson) of Brockville. Loving daughter of Audrey Cross and her husband Kenneth of Kingston and predeceased by her father Allen Porteous. Dear sister of Brenda Brown of Edmonton, Michael Porteous of Calgary, Lyle Porteous of Brockville, Catherine Paterson of Sturgess, Sask., and Lynne Russell of Carleton Place. Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by her brother David.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Christian Celebration of Jean's life and ministry will be held in Christ United Church, Lyn on Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. followed by a gathering in the church hall. Cremation will take place at Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland with interment at a later date at Auid Kirk Cemetery, Almonte. In remembrance of Jean, memorial donations to the Christ United Church or the C.N.I.B. will be gratefully acknowledged.

BRUNDIGE, Della
At Broadview Nursing Centre, Smiths Falls on Sunday, January 23rd, 2005. Adella May (Findlay) Brundige in her 95th year. Loved mother of Lee Brundige of Jasper and Lowell (Stephani) Brundige of Delacour, Alberta. Predeceased by her son Terry Brundige. Grandmother of Andy, Katelyn and Steven Brundige and the late Kip Brundige. Predeceased by her brothers and sisters. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews, family and friends.
Friends may pay their respects at the Blair & Son Funeral Home, Smiths Falls on Wednesday, January 26th from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment, Wolford Cemetery in the spring. In remembrance, contributions to the Wolford Chapel and Cemetery Fund would be appreciated.

Peacefully at the Brockville General Hospital on Saturday, January 22, 2005, Sydney Bycroft in his 96th year. Beloved husband of the late Gladys Ruth (nee Reilly). Dear father of Shirley Rutherford and her husband Grant of Odessa. Loving grandfather of Scott, Sean and Paul and great-grandfather of Skye, Christine, Shane, Sydney, Sawyer and Alexandra. Survived by brother Arthur Bycroft of Brockville and predeceased by sisters Mabel Snelson, Hilda Snelson and brother George Bycroft. Also fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews, all of Brockville.
Resting at the James Reid Funeral Home, Cataraqui Chapel, 1900 John Counter Boulevard, Kingston. Friends will be received on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Wednesday, January 26th, 2005 at 1:30 p.m. Interment in the spring at Shanley Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations may be made to The Salvation Army in Mr. Bycroft’s memory.

Dear mother of Zsuszi Pusztai-Barr and Mike Jr. all of Brockville. Dear grandmother of Mitchell, Sara and Nicholas. Dear sister of Hubert and George Gray. Predeceased by brothers Clifford and John Gray and by a sister Jean Hazelwood.
Family and close friends are invited to the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville for visitation on Wednesday from 2-4 p.m. Funeral Services will be held following the visitation. Cremation will take place at Roselawn Crematorium, Maitland. In memoriams to the Cancer Society or the Heart and Stroke Foundation will be gratefully acknowledged.

SPICER, Phyllis
Entered into rest peacefully at the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital with her family by her side on Sunday, January 23rd, 2005 the former Phyllis Lucille Pritchard of Brockville, age 56 years. Dear mother of Tanya Sexton and her husband Kevin of RR1, Prescott and Brian Spicer of Brockville. Grandmother of Wesley, Gavin and Juliette. Sister of Mary Anne Pritchard of Smiths Falls, Anna O’Shaughnessy and Debbie Brown, both of Brockville. Also survived by special friend Darrell Cole of Brockville and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by her parents Ernest Pritchard and his wife Pheobe Spicer Pritchard, a brother Peter Pritchard and a sister Phoebe Pritchard in infancy.
Friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Wednesday, January 26th from 10 a.m. until 12 noon and from 2-4 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel at 4:00 p.m. Interment Maynard Cemetery at a later date. In memoriams to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

STEVENS, Donald
Peacefully at the Winchester and District Memorial Hospital on Saturday, January 22nd, 2005, Donald Stevens of Cardinal in his 57th year. Husband of Jean Donaldson. Loving father of Donald of Kingston and Robert (Kim) of Edmonton, Alberta. Survived by his sister Margaret (Bill) Lewis of Williamsburg, his granddaughter Mercedes Stevens and several nieces and nephews.
At Donald’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. Arrangements are in the care of the Marsden and McLaughlin Funeral Home, Iroquois, 652-4452. Donations to the charity of your choice would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

BARTLEY, Patricia Suzanne
Entered into rest on Wednesday, January 19, 2005. Suzanne Bartley of Lansdowne age 42 years. Beloved wife of Garry Pattenden. Daughter of Garnett Blaine Bartley and the former Florence Susie Cave. Sister of Lana Michele, Sherri-Lynn Dawn Tripp (Jeffrey) and Mike Blaine Bartley (Debbie) all of Smiths Falls. Dear aunt of Elizabeth, Roddy, Melanie, Johnathon, Joseph, Maverick, Jason, Justin, Lindsay, Kim and Caitlin. Daughter-in-law of Ken and June Pattenden of Brockville. Sister-in-law of Carole Baker (Jim) and Christine McLaughlin (Terry), both of Brockville. Susan is also survived by Garry’s goddaughter Danniel as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Sunday, January 23rd, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. Casual dress is requested. There will then be a Celebration of Susan’s life at their home (610 Sand Bay Road, Lansdowne. Please call 613-342-2792 for directions.) Interment will be at a later date. In memoriams to the Limestone Learning Foundation (Care of the Limestone District School Board, Kingston) would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

McEwen, Richard Vincent “Dick”
At the Ottawa Civic Hospital on Thursday, January 20, 2005 with his family at his side, Dick McEwen of RR2 Brinston in his 60th year. Loving companion of Darlene Riddell. Father of Tammy McEwen of Kemptville. Stepfather of Angela Saddelmire (David Marchand) of Iroquois and “grampy” of Eric and Taylor Saddelmire. Dick is survived by his loving mother Mae McEwen of Maxville, sisters Shirley (Wilson) Perry of Ingleside, Linda McEwen of Kanata, Wendy (Terry) Bates of Maynard and Nancy (Jeff) Robillard of Kanata. Predeceased by his brother Ronnie. Sadly missed by nieces, nephews and his extended family.
Friends may call at the Marsden McLaughlin Funeral Home, Iroquois on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A Legion Service will be held at the Funeral Home on Saturday evening at 6:50 p.m. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Sunday, January 23 at 2 p.m. Donations to the RCL Br. 370 Building Fund, Iroquois United Church Window Fund or the Diabetes Association would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. HASKIN, Lorraine
Passed away peacefully at Brockville General Hospital on Thursday, December 9, 2004 at the age of 87. Daughter of the late Mary and Leonard Stout, Crosby. Loving mother of Keith (Diane) and grandmother of Allison (Ian) Brown, Cory (Melanie) and Pruyn (Kelly), and great-grandmother of seven. Survived by sister June Smith and cousin Bruce Merriman. Predeceased by sister Norma Bauer. The family wishes to express their appreciation for the loving care which Lorraine received at St. Lawrence Lodge, Brockville.
The family will receive friends at the Scotland Funeral Home, 27 Main Street, Elgin on Saturday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service in the Chapel on Sunday morning at 11 o’clock. Interment Halladay Cemetery, Elgin. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations made to the Halladay Burial Place, Elgin or the Salvation Army would be appreciated by the family.

GALWAY, Lynne Andrew
Peacefully after a brief illness at St. Mary's Hospital, Kitchener on December 2nd 2004 at the age of 62. Beloved husband of Alice Lenneau. Dear father of David (Brenda) of Grande Prairie, AB, June (Joe) of Prince George BC. Stepfather of Tina (Donald) of Cornwall. Predeceased by his parents Walter and Bessie Galway, brother Garth Galway and brother-in-law Ray Botham. Dear brother of Vrene (Charles) Hartley of Seeley's Bay, Donna Botham of Smiths Falls, Barry Galway (Veronica) of Frankville, Rodger (Donna) of Kitchener, also sister-in-law Cathy Galway. Cherished grandfather of David, Kara, Jenna, Joachim, Joshua and Brianna. Also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
For family and friends a grave side service will be held at Oakland Cemetery on Saturday, December 11 at 10 a.m. Reception to follow at Elizabethtown-Kitley Fire Hall, Lyn. Expressions of sympathy may be made to St. Mary’s Hospital, Canadian Cancer Society or the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Schreiter-Sandrock Chapel of Kitchener.
