PAWIS, Elizabeth (Gendron)
Retired Nurse for Forty years. Entered into rest on Monday, November 24, 2003 at the age of 74 in Newmarket, Ontario. Loved mother of Catherine of Aurora, Gail of Alcona, Pam of Newmarket, Cameron and Laura of Angus, Steven of Alcona. Loved grandmother of Nicole, Jake and Presley. Dear daughter of Manson and Cecilia (Leeder) Gendron (deceased). Dear sister of Agnes (Jack) MacCarthy, Charles (Jean) Gendron, Hildred (Roy) Ried, and Joan (Ron) Salmon. Predeceased by Robert.
Funeral Service was held at the W. John Thomas Funeral Home, Alliston, Ontario on Thursday, November 27, 2003 at 11 a.m. In memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or The Stevenson Memorial Hospital, Alliston, Ontario.

BURBRIDGE, Brian MBA, BSc.

Peacefully at the North York General Hospital, Toronto on Thursday, October 9, 2003, Brian Peter Roy Burbridge at the age of 51 years. Loving son of Nellie (Halka) Burbridge of Brockville and the late Roy C. Burbridge. Beloved husband and friend of Judy (Cougler) Burbridge of Pembroke and cherished father of Gregory of Hamilton and Matthew of London. Dear brother of Terry Ferguson and her husband Bruce, Bonnie Markell and her friend Leonard, Ted Burbridge and his wife Dianne, Gary Burbridge and his wife Kim, and Roy Burbridge and his wife Dawn. Fondly remembered by his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, close friends and co-workers.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. A ceremony in celebration of Brian's life will be held in the Chapel on Wednesday at 1 p.m. followed by a brief gathering in the Funeral Home Reception Centre. A Committal Service will take place immediately after the reception, at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium, Maitland, with interment in The Tower Columbarium. In remembrance, donations to The Brockville Community Foundation’s Brockville Collegiate Institute Student Excellence Fund or the Heart and Stroke Foundation would be gratefully acknowledged.

IRELAND, James Wesley
At his home on Monday, October 6, 2003 in his 60th year, James of Athabaska, Alta. Beloved son of Bernice of Norwood and the late Earl Ireland. Dear father of Wesley of Hamilton. Dear brother of Ray of Norwood, Gary of Drumheller, Alta., Wendell of Smithfield, and Brian of Calgary.
A Memorial Service was held at Athabaska Legion Friday, October 10, 2003.

MOORE, Gilberte (Betty)
At the Brockville General Hospital on October 8, 2003 in her 90th year. Beloved wife of the late George Moore. Dear mother of George T. Moore and his wife Heather of Brockville and Douglas Moore and his wife Patricia of Winnipeg. Dear grandmother of Leslie Moore (Aaron Wade) and Lyndsay. Sister of Theresa Wilson of Brockville. Predeceased by a brother Harry L’Anglais and a sister Simone L’Anglais.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Friday from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. A celebration of Betty’s life will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 1 p.m. Cremation will follow at the Roselawn Memorial Gardens Crematorium, Maitland. In memoriams to the Diabetes Association will be gratefully acknowledged.

LESLIE, Mary-Ellen
Passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a difficult illness on Wednesday, June 4, 2003 at the St. Vincent de Paul Hospital, Brockville; the former Mary-Ellen McDonald, a native of Renfrew, at the age of 70 years. Beloved mother of Brenda Peever of Ottawa, Patrick Leslie (Tammy) of Calgary, and Kevin Leslie (Penny) of Prescott. Fondly remembered by her grandchildren Sandra, Katherine, Jennifer and Danielle Peever, Samantha and Paige Leslie. Dear sister of Elizabeth Stewart of Nepean and loving aunt of Susan, Sherry and Stephen. Predeceased by her husband John Leslie, her parents Patrick and Viola McDonald, and her brother-in-law Rod Stewart.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Saturday from 1 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. In celebration of Mary-Ellen’s life a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Saturday at 3 p.m. Cremation to follow at the Roselawn Tribute Centre and Crematorium with interment at Union Cemetery, Port Hope at a later date. In remembrance, donations to the Hospice of Providence Palliative Care will be gratefully acknowledged.

McALLISTER, Hubert (Hugh)
Suddenly at the family cottage, Narrows Lock, Big Rideau Lake, on Tuesday, June 3rd, 2003, Hubert (Hugh) Freeman McAllister of Brockville, age 57 years. Beloved husband of the former Marie Catherine Prior. Dear father of Melanie McAllister (Stuart) of RR4, Brockville, Todd McAllister and his wife Tracy of Pickering, and Kerri McAllister (Jason) of Brockville. Grandfather of Jessica Pittman, Bailey and Julia Miller, Cainnear, Keelin and Aislinn McAllister. Brother of Diane (Miklos), Freda, Anna (Gus), Janice (Eddie), Susan (Byron), Fern (Sandy), Arthur John (Carol), Cathy (Terry), Helen (Brian), Betty (Randy), Loretta, Theresa (Kevin) and Paul (Paula). Also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Predeceased by his parents Freeman and Mary Walsh McAllister, a sister Mary Lawlor and a brother in infancy.
Friends may call at the Barclay Funeral Home, 137 Pearl Street East, Brockville on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The Liturgy of the Christian Funeral will be celebrated on Saturday, June 7th, 2003, at 10 a.m. in St John Bosco Parish. Interment will follow at St. Francis Xavier Cemetery. In memoriams to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Canadian Diabetes Association would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.

HAARBOSCH, Cornelis
Peacefully at the Kingston General Hospital, surrounded by the love of his family on Saturday, April 12, 2003, Cornelis Haarbosch. Beloved husband of 40 years to Mons Haarbosch (Cunningham). Much loved father of Michael (Karen), Sandra Hamilton (David) and Glenn (Tracy). Cherished grandfather of Kristoffer, Alexander, Jeffrey, Angela, Matthew, Tyler and Clayton. Will be sadly missed by one brother Hugo, and by two sisters Thea and Helen.
A Service of Remembrance will be held at the St. Andrews Presbyterian Church on Saturday, April 19 at 11:00 a.m. Followed by a reception in the Church Hall. Inurnment will then follow at Rockport Cemetery. As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Crohn's and Colitis Foundation of Canada or to the Canadian Cancer Society would be appreciated by the family. JANNACK, Hurbert (Hubert) “Joe”
At St. Lawrence Lodge on April 15, 2003, Hurbert Braymond Jannack of RR3, Mallorytown in his 89th year. Son of the late Allison and Melinda Jannack. Dear brother of Alfred Jannack (Margaret) and Fred Jannack (Gwen). Fondly remembered by several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his sister Opal Howison and by brothers, Glen, Bruce and Basil Jannack.
Family and friends may pay their respects at the Irvine Funeral Home and Chapel, 4 James Street East, Brockville on Wednesday, from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. In celebration of Hurbert’s life a ceremony will be held in the Chapel on Thursday at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Oakland Cemetery. In remembrance, donations to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the Lung Association will be gratefully acknowledged.

JOHNSON, Reverend Patrick
Suddenly at his residence, Sunday, April 13, 2003. Patrick is survived by his aunt Esther Stott of Victoria, BC. He will be sadly missed by parishioners and friends whom he had met through his many years of service within the Anglican Church of Canada. Patrick was ordained as a priest in 1963. He served as Assistant to the Rector of Trinity Church, Brockville from 1962-1967: Assistant Curate Christ Church Cathedral, Hamilton, 1967-1971; Rector of All Saints Church, Hamilton, 1971-1983; Rector of St. Timothy's Church, Hamilton, 1983-1989. After his retirement Patrick served as Priest Associate at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Westdale, from 1989 until his passing. During his ministry he also served as Director of Mission to Seamen from 1978-1979 and Chaplain to the Anglican Business and Professional Women's Association in 1982.
At Patrick’s request, cremation has taken place. A Memorial Service will be held at St. Paul’s Anglican Church, Westdale, on Monday, April 21, 2003 at 10:00 a.m. Patrick’s ashes will be interred at Trinity Church, Brockville at a date yet to be confirmed. Donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to the Dodsworth & Brown Funeral Home, Robinson Chapel 905-522-2496.

McMILLAN, Joseph “Hyndman”
Peacefully at the Winchester Hospital on Tuesday, April 15, 2003, Joseph “Hyndman” McMillan of Williamsburg, age 92. Beloved husband of the late Beatrice McMillan (nee Whittle). Dear father of John (Marian) of Chesterville and Mary (Gordon) Whittaker of Iroquois. Hyndman will be fondly remembered by grandchildren Catherine Van Vliet, Tracy Ahern, Michael Whittaker, and great-grandchildren Emma, William, Annie and Amelia. Predeceased by an infant son William Arthur Richard, a daughter Martha Ann, a brother Hugh, and sisters Martha Black and Retta Carkner. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Marsden & McLaughlin Funeral Home, Williamsburg (613-535-2339) on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. and Thursday from 11 a.m. until time of service. Funeral Service at the Funeral Home on Thursday, April 17th, at 1 p.m. Interment Maple Ridge Cemetery, Chesterville. Donations to Winchester Hospital or the Arthritis Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
