Died at his home in Peterborough on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, in his 99th year.
Predeceased by his wife of 59 years, Nora.
Survived by his children David, Sherie (Peter) of Maryland, Gordon (Melanie), and Bonnie, all of Toronto.
Missed by his grandchildren, Tonette (Lieut./Navy), Ceri, Adrian, Nerissa (Chris), and Vanessa, and great-grandchildren Jacob, Chase, and Renee of Texas.
He took great joy in his hobbies, painting, needlework, playing the organ, and gardening.

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 28, 2009, in her 84th year, after a brief illness.
Beloved wife of Robert Ross, cherished mother of Robert G. Ross of Whitby, Ontario, Kathy Gray, of Whitby, Ontario, Joanne Rasmussen (Robert), of Edmonton, Alberta.
Beloved grandma to Valerie, Micheil, David and Heather.
She will be sadly missed by her surviving brother Don Wooldridge (Hazel) of Peterborough, Ontario.
Predeceased by brother Ken Wooldridge.
Alberta was born in Lindsay, Ontario and lived most of her life in Whitby, Ontario, where she raised her family, worked for the Region of Durham and attended St. Mark's United Church for many years, on a regular basis. After retirement Alberta devoted her time to her family.
She will be fondly remembered for her love and generosity to her family and friends.
Sincere thanks are extended to the Staff of Lakeridge Oshawa and Bowmanville Hospital.
