MARY-LYNNE ASHBY-CORNELL
Compassionate teacher, enthusiastic traveller, natural writer and poet, eloquent lector, music lover, loving, caring wife, daughter, and aunt, fun-loving and inspirational friend to the very many whose lives she touched. If Mary-Lynne had her way, every person would be loved, and cared for. Every person would be appreciated for their own unique qualities. Each of her countless friends felt this ideal realized through her. Her brave struggle with brain cancer ended Wednesday, May 3rd, 2006, at home with her loved ones at the age of 35. For much of her teaching career with the Durham Catholic School Board, she shared her knowledge and love of the French language with her students. Loving wife of Casey. Cherished daughter of Allan and Bonnie Ashby, and daughter-in-law of Karen and Keith Cornell. Beloved sister of Christine (Mark), Theresa (Jacob), and Allan. Sister-in-law of Kate (Tal). Treasured granddaughter of Violet McNeill. Devoted aunt to Emily and James. Dear niece of Bill (Ann), Bob (Bev), Dan (Julia), Catherine (Nicholas), and Lynn. Predeceased by her grandparents Violet and Robert Ashby and Lynn McNeill. Mary-Lynne will also be deeply missed by her extended family and many friends. The family will receive friends at the McEACHNIE FUNERAL HOME, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax (Pickering Village) 905-428-8488 from 7-9 p.m. on Saturday, and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. on Sunday. Funeral Mass at St.Isaac Jogues Church (1148 Finch Avenue, Pickering) on Monday, May 8, 2006 at 10:30a.m. Interment Christ The King cemetery. BANTING, Mary (nee Hawkins) - Peacefully, at Providence Manor, on Thursday, May 4, 2006, in her 94th year. Predeceased by her beloved husband Wilfred George Banting and stepdaughter Doris Crichton and her husband Alex. Loving mother of Maryetta of Kingston, Erica McKerrall of Toronto and James of Toronto. Lovingly remembered by grandchildren Sarah and Jeffrey McKerrall. Predeceased by her 3 sisters and 4 brothers. Friends will be received at the Central Chapel of the Gordon F. Tompkins Funeral Homes, 49Colborne Street (at Clergy) on Sunday between the hours of 2-4 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be Celebrated on Monday at 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church, Wolfe Island. PIETRO (PETER) BATTISTA
passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side, at home on Thursday, May 4, 2006 at the age of 65. He had a happy 42 year marriage to his loving wife Maria. A wonderful father "Pa" to Danny (Paola). A loving grandfather (nonno "Peeto") to Gregory and Robert. Sadly missed by sisters Bambina (Domenico), Giovannina (Antonio), brother Mario (Margherita), sister-in-law Concetta. Predeceased by brother Pasquale. Peter's quiet presence will be sadly missed. Family and friends will be received at the Bernardo Funeral Home, 2960 Dufferin St. (two streets south of Lawrence Ave.) on Saturday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Sunday from 2to4 p.m. and 6-9p.m. A celebration of his life will take place on Monday, May 8 at 9:30a.m. in St.Charles Church (Dufferin St. and Lawrence Ave. W.) Entombment at Holy Cross cemetery (Bayview Ave. off Langstaff Rd.). Donations to Camp Oochigeas, 60St.Clair Ave. East, Suite 201, Toronto, Ont. M4T 1N5 will be appreciated.

Dear father of Denise (Shawn Perrin), Lynn (Joe Harrison), Sandra, and the late Marion. Beloved Granddad of Michelle, Shawn, Julia, Joey, Melanie and Zach. Great Granddad of Julia, Victoria, Hope, Cody, Jadyn and Tristyn. Roy will be greatly missed by his recently reunited brothers David and Alan, and their families in England, cousin Rodney, and by close friends Frank, Ed, and Bam. CALLEN, George - On May 3, 2006, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Toronto, in his 86th year. Predeceased by his wife Irene, his parents Isaac and Sarah, and his sister Sheila. George is survived by his wife Bridget, his sons William, Stephen, and Michael, his daughter Barbara, and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by his brother Harold (Northern Ireland), his twin brother William (England), and his sister Margaret (Northern Ireland). He is also remembered by his wife's family in Northern Ireland and Colorado. A private service for immediate family was held on Friday, May 5th. George served in the R.A.F. in World War II in AirSea Rescue and he was a proud and long term member of Royal Canadian Legion Branch 101, Longbranch. ALegion Service will be held at Branch 101 on Monday, May 8th at 7 p.m. All who wish to attend are welcome. If desired, in lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Poppy Fund at R.C.L. HELEN BOYD
passed away on May 4th, 2006 surrounded by her loving family. Memories of wonderful times are shared by her daughter, Mary Griffin (and husband, John), her son John-Brian (and wife, Francine), her late son Andy and his wife Carol, and her grandchildren Jay, Laura, Stacey, Kelly and husband Mark, Brian, Jessica and husband Rene, and Jimmy and her great-granddaughter, Victoria.Helen remained a model beacon for what was important in life: family, caring and saying just what you feel. She always took care of her family, friends and neighbours when they were in need. In memory of her beautiful heart, Helen would want, in lieu of flowers or donations, for you to do something nice for a friend or pet in need. This would embody Helen's caring nature. Immediate family will be celebrating Helen's life in a private home gathering. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers for a wonderful grandmother, mother, and friend.

CHU, Frankie - Frankie was taken away from us suddenly and tragically, on Tuesday, May 2, 2006. He turned 18 on April 2, 2006. Frankie will be greatly missed by his parents Linda and Frank Chu of Taiwan, his aunt and uncle and cousins Monica Chen, Dale, Erin and Jessica Atkinson, his aunt Carol Chu from San Francisco, and both sets of grandparents in Taiwan. He will also be terribly missed by his numerous family and school friends. Visitation will be at Wing On Chapel at 665Spadina Avenue, Toronto, on Sunday, May 7 between 12:00 and 5:00 p.m. and again on Monday between 9:00 and 10:30 a.m. A service will follow. DI MAMBRO, Marie (nee Bouffard) - passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, at her home in Sutton, on Thursday, May 4, 2006, at the age of 66 years. Marie was devoted to her husband Rocco for 42 years and to her children Carlo (wife Teresa), Lina (husband Kevin Stentiford), Maria (husband Paul Wolscht), and Mario (wife Traci). Proud and loving grandmother to seventeen and great-grandmother to one. She will also be sadly missed by her brothers and sisters and by her many friends and colleagues. Special thanks to Myrna Moore of Sunnybrook Hospital for her loving care and constant attention. You helped every step of the way and went above and beyond. Family and friends will be received at the Taylor Funeral Home, 20846 Dalton Road, Sutton from 2-4p.m. Sunday. Loving aunt of Norma Jeffery, Irene, Jeff and Denise Bolderson and Eleanor and George Russell. She was predeceased by her sister May and brothers Clarence, Howard and Norman. She will be fondly remembered by many friends and extended family. A Service to celebrate Florence's life will be held on May 9, 2006 at 11:00 a.m. at the TRULL "EAST TORONTO" FUNERAL HOME & CREMATION CENTRE, 1111 Danforth Avenue (1 block east of Donlands subway). Visitation will be one hour before the service. Interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens.
