Dear mother of Joseph, Sarnia and Nancy & her husband Bill Havers, Sarnia. Loving grandmother of Christine Sauve, Saskatoon and Kenneth & Rebecca Haines, Sarnia. Sister of Mary Janus, Sarnia. Also survived by many nieces & nephews. Predeceased by son David and granddaughter Katherine Haines. Louise was retired from Presotlite after 30 years of service. She was a volunteer with the Red Cross, St. Joseph's Hospital Auxillary and a member of Sacred Heart C.W.L. Waters, Joan

JOAN WATERS (nee KEOGH) - Born on August 3, 1928 in Toronto, Joan was the third of four children of George and Elva Keogh. She grew up in Toronto, attending St.Joseph's Convent School and then St. Michael's College at the University of Toronto, where she graduated with a B.A. in languages in 1950. Joan was keenly interested in music and received her A.R.C.T. in piano from the Royal Conservatory of Music. While attending university, she met Donald J. Waters, who was studying optometry after having served with the R.C.A.F. during WWII. Joan and Donald were married in May 1951, and moved to Sarnia where Don was establishing an optometry practice. Joan loved Don dearly, but family folklore has it that Joan was in tears when she arrived in Sarnia from Toronto. Despite the culture shock, Joan quickly embraced the community where she and Don raised their six children, and that was her home for a little more than half a century. She was actively involved in her community, including, Sacred Heart Parish, St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary, University Women's Club, Birthright and the Catholic Women's League, and was very involved in assisting Vietnamese refugees settling in Sarnia. Joan was an avid golfer and bridge player, and had a passion for music and literature. Joan was a proud member of the extended Keogh family originally from Colgan, Ontario. Joan was devoted to her family, who will miss her dearly. She is survived by her six children, Patricia Waters-Cotter (John), Donald (Maureen), Michelle Waters Free (Bob), Timothy (Izabella), Peter (Lynn), Joan Van Rensen (Gerry); her fourteen grandchildren Patrick, Matthew, Brendan and Liam Cotter; Meghan and Daniel Waters; Alyssa and Melanie Free; Alexandra, Ashton, Jennifer and Jacqueline Waters; Donald and Timothy Van Rensen; her sisters Clare Larin and Anne Senftle. She is predeceased by her husband Don, parents George Keogh and Elva Veale, and brother Patrick. Following a lengthy battle with cancer, she died on Saturday, August 24, 2002 and like much of her life, she was surrounded by her loving family. Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia Wednesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. with prayers being offered at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday 11 a.m. at Sacred Heart Church. WELCH - GERALDINE 'JERRY' (REID) WELCH, of Sarnia peacefully passed away after a difficult illness, at St. Joseph 's Hospital, Palliative Care, on October 5, 2002. Beloved wife of the late George Rob ert Welch (1974). Jerry will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her son Tom Welch & his wife Judy, Edmonton ; daughter Susan Miller & her husband William (Bill), Mississauga, and grandsons Bradley and Brian Welch, Edmonton. Jerry is survived by brother-in-law George S. MacKay, Scarborough and sisters-in-law Ruth Reid, Shelburne, Irene Welch, London and several nieces & nephews. Predeceased by brothers Harvey Reid and Hugh Reid; sisters Mary Booth and Jean MacKay; father Thomas B. Reid and mother Hannah ( Hammond ) Reid. Born in Shelburne, Ontario Jerry was a Registered Nurse graduating from the Stratford General Hospital School of Nursing and maintained dear & precious friends from that time. Predeceased by his parents Agostino and Rossina Benacquista. Giuseppe came to Sarnia from Italy in 1953 to prepare a home for his wife who followed in 1955. He lived and raised a family in Sarnia until very recently. Guiseppe was an active member of the Dante Club of Sarnia for over 25 years, a member of the Ontario Plumbing Inspectors Association and a retiree ot the County of Lambton Plumbing Inspection Department.
