Austin, Lorna Dale At Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Monday, May 5, 2003, after a long and courageous struggle with cancer. She fought to the end and is a tribute to those who do not give up. The will to survive, as Lorna proved, is strong. Lorna Austin (nee Poast) of Owen Sound in her 57th year. Beloved wife of Mike Austin. Dear mother of Jeffrey Austin of British Columbia and Keri Austin of Owen Sound. Lovingly remembered by three grandchildren, Christopher, Katherine and Alexis. Also survived by her sister, Sharon and her husband Terry Cantlon of Owen Sound and daughter in law Celia. Sadly missed by her nieces, nephews and friends. Loved mother of Mike LaFond and his friend Jennifer Urowitz of Chatsworth and Cindy LaFond of Owen Sound and stepmother of Glen Brocklebank of Rankin Inlet. Dear grandmother of Alexia and Mathew. Also survived by two brothers Elwood Fawcett of Eugenia and Keith Fawcett and his wife Barb of Owen Sound and a sister Debbie and her husband Kevin Caswell of Meaford. Special friend to Glen Foster and his family. She will be sadly missed by her extended family and many friends. Edmonstone, R. William (Bill) Bill Edmonstone of Kemble, Ontario who was one month away from his 99th birthday. passed away peacefully at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Thursday, July 3, 2003. He was born on August 3, 1904 at Vail s Point into humble surroundings. He coped with many adversities and became a survivor. Bill spent most of his life as a commercial fisherman plying the waters of Georgian Bay with a compass. He also spent time sailing on freighters and tugboats as fireman or wheelsman. He was a great storyteller bringing laughter, adventure and history to those who would listen. In the winter he would hunt on his snowshoes with his favourite dog by his side. His passion was playing the fiddle in the tradition of the Edmonstone family. He was a role model and left an incredible legacy of entertainment throughout his long life. He was blessed with a clear mind, good health and never lost his ability to play his music until the last few weeks of his life. Bill is not going to make it to the Shelburne Fiddle Contest this year but he will be playing grander fiddles in his Heavenly Home. Bill is survived by and sadly missed by his sister Margaret Rouse of East Linton, daughter Sandra Goerzen of St. Catherines, granddaughter Sheila Ferrando of Montreal, grandson Ryan Ferrando of Toronto and Great-granddaughter Viola Ferrando of Montreal. Predeceased by his parents Francis William and Margaret Edmonstone (nee Bell), stepmother Mary Ellen Edmonstone (nee Cooper), sisters Viola (McKelvie) White, Islay Lumbley and Lillian Edmonstone, brothers Neil, Jack, Elgin and Erven Edmonstone and his granddaughter Vikki Ferrando.
