NIKOLAUS - Maria at Terrace Lodge in Aylmer on Thursday, February 7, 2002 in her 88th year. She was born Maria Stierl on March 10, 1914 in Petersdorf Romania. She was a resident of Terrace Lodge since 1996. She was a member of St. Peter s Lutheran Church in Kitchener and St. John s Lutheran Church in Aylmer. A member of Transylvania Club. She is survived by her loving daughter Katie and her husband Michael Bachner of St. Thomas. BURWELL - Randy Burwell of St. Thomas, passed away in St. Thomas on Saturday, February 9, 2002 at the age of 42 year. Dear father of Tavi Burwell of Toronto and Scott Burwell of Peterborough. Loving son of the Robert & Therese Burwell of Tillsonburg and grandson of Lewis Burwell also of Tillsonburg. Also survived by a sister Candace Burwell of Chatham and a brother Chad Burwell and his wife Tracy of Cambridge, as well as his uncles Donald Burwell and his wife Annie of London, and John Burwell & Helen Kyser of Port Stanley. Also survived by many cousins. Predeceased by an aunt Joan Myers and an uncle Jack Myers. At Randy s request there shall be no visitation or funeral service. Cremation shall take place. DOERRINGER - Rudolf of Port Stanley, on Sunday, February 10, 2002, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 82nd year. Beloved husband of the late Maria Berta Doerringer (Sept. 1998) and dear father of Ursula and her husband Magnus Schweiger of London, Margaret Doerringer and her partner Ray McLean of Quebec and Rosita and her husband Thomas Morgan of Port Stanley. Loved grandfather of Sonya, Mario Jos e, Ryan and Amanda and great grandfather of Charlie and K ssy. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews and a cousin in Germany. Rudolf was born in Germany, March 6, 1920. He came to Canada in 1951 and has resided in Port Stanley the past 20 years. A memorial service will be announce at a later date. Cremation with burial of ashes in Christ Church cemetery , Port Stanley. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society. KEWLEY - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Friday, February 8, 2002. George Herbert Herb Kewley of Port Stanley and formerly of Georgetown and St. Thomas, in his 76th year. Born in Stratford, Ontario, Sept. 21, 1926, son of the late Claude and Gertrude (Jarrell) Kewley. Husband of Sheena (Sykes) Kewley. Father of Ted Kewley and his wife Cheryl of Cambridge, Beth Strong and her husband Ken of St. Thomas and Herb Kewley and his wife Shelley of Woodstock. Grandfather of Kristin, Edward, Steven, Wesley, Renee, Sheena and William. Brother of Keith Kewley Sr. and his wife Jean of St. Thomas, Mike Kewley and his wife Anne of Oakville, Hal Kewley and his wife Marie of Bracebridge, late Dan Kewley and late Ken Kewley. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Herb was a member of the Galt Red wings Jr. A Hockey Team (1945-46). He won a silver medal with Canada in the 1949 World Championships. He played semi-pro hockey in Scotland, 2 years in Dunfermline and 4 years in Ayr. In 1954, he came to St. Thomas to play for the Sr. B Royals. Herb was a retired employee of Ford Motor Company of Canada s Bramalea Plant. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Monday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where funeral service will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Following cremation, interment in Christ Churchyard (Anglican), Port Stanley.
