TOLAND - Henry “Harry” of St. Thomas, on Sunday, February 10, 2002, at the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital, in his 95th year. Henry was born in Glasgow, Scotland on February 27, 1907, he came to Canada in 1966 and worked for the Separate School Board (St. Joseph’s High School). He was a member of Holy Angels’ Church and a former member of the Knights of Columbus. Beloved husband of the late Mary (Currie) Toland. (Dec. 6, 1997) and son of the late Henry and Annie (Boland) Toland. Dearly loved father of John and his wife Joan Toland of Kitchener and Maureen and he husband Graham Brown of Lambeth. Dear brother of Denis Toland, Sarah Delaney and Ann Sims, all of Scotland. Predeceased by 3 brothers William, John and Patrick. Loved grandfather of Paul, Sean, Lynn, Simon and Iain and great grandfather of Shannon and Conor. Also survived by a number of nieces and nephews. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas until Tuesday morning and then to Holy Angels’ Church where mass of the Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment Holy Angels’ cemetery. Visitation Monday from 7-9 p.m. Prayers will be recited at the funeral home on Monday at 7:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Elgin Lung Association.

AARTS - Suddenly in London on Friday, February 8, 2002, Mr. John Joseph Patrick Aarts of Port Franks, at the age of 50. Survived by his loving wife Glenna Hupka and ex-spouse Loralee Aarts. Son of Mary and the late John Aarts of St. Thomas. Father of Kevin, Ryan and Jonathan. Brother of the late Frank Aarts (December 6, 2001) & wife Anna (Fontana), Anne Aarts, Tony & wife Joanne, Bill & wife Sandra, Albert & wife Nancy, Paul & wife Catherine, Ron of Florida, Jerry & wife Marian and MaryAnne Haasen (Aarts). Also survived by a number of nieces, nephews in the area and many cousins in Holland, Australia, New Zealand and south Africa. He will be missed by many loyal employees and friends. Friends will be received at the Westview Funeral Chapel, 709 Wonderland Road N. ( 2 blocks north of Oxford St.) on Monday from 7-9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, February 13, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. at Holy Angels Parish, 502 Talbot Street, St. Thomas. Interment Holy Angels cemetery , St. Thomas. Memorial contributions to the Sunshine Foundation or to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated. Prayers will be held in the funeral Home on Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

CONRADE - Curtis Thomsley of Toronto and formerly of St. Thomas, on Sunday, February 3, 2002, at the Trillium Health Centre Mississauga, in his 75th year. Predeceased by his father Curtis Abel Conrad and his loving mother Sarah Ann (Gerrard) Conrad. Loved brother of Connie and her husband Donald Enman of Halifax, Nova Scotia, Calvin Conrad of St. Thomas, Cameron and his wife Sharon Conrad of Kitchener and Carol and her husband Gary Mailing of Union. Sadly missed by a number of nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Curtis was a successful land developer in Mississauga and was still actively working in the Toronto area. He was a generous benefactor throughout his life to a number of charities. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Rev. Roger Landell of First United Church officiating. Cremation to follow, with burial of ashes in Elmdale cemetery. Visitation Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the charity of choice.

PURSLEY/MAASS - Peacefully in his sleep at home in Woodstock on Monday, February 11, 2002, Donald James (DJ) Pursley/Maass, age 11 years. Loving son of Stephan and Trudy Maass and Neil Pursley. Dear brother of Nicholas and Ashley. Dear grandson of Donna Davis of Brantford, the late Jake Davis (1998) and Gus and Michelin Maass of Ingersoll. Dear great grandson of Doris Cousins of Woodstock and Winnifred Bowman of Trenton. Also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins. Predeceased by grandparents Margaret and Donald Pursley and great grandparents Milton and Jean Page. Friends will be received at the McBeath-Dynes Funeral Home, 246 Thames St. S., Ingersoll on Wednesday 7-9 p.m. Funeral service will be held at St. James Anglican Church, Ingersoll on Thursday, February 14, 2002 at 1:30 p.m. Interment later Ingersoll Rural cemetery. Memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation or charity of your choice would be appreciated.

PARSONS - Phyllis Maude (Howell) of R.R. #2 Southwold, on Saturday, February 9, 2002, at the London Health Sciences Centre (Victoria Campus), in her 85th year. Dearly loved wife of Charles “Stuart” Parsons. Sadly missed by a number of cousins and friends. Phyllis was a graduate of Memorial Hospital as a Registered Nurse. She also worked at the St. Thomas Psychiatric Hospital and the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital. She was an X-Ray Radiographer. She was born in Kitscoty, Alberta, August 26, 1917 and grew up in Eden, Ontario. Phyllis resided in St. Thomas from 1935-1959 and then in Southwold. She was a member of Knox Presbyterian Church. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Wednesday at 1:00 p.m. Interment in the spring in Eden cemetery. Visitation Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association or the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital Foundation.

WIGHTMAN, Ivy - Peacefully in Ottawa on Monday, February 11, 2002 in her 92nd year. Dear wife of the late Len Wightman. Loving mother of Marcy Patterson (Frazer) and Stuart Wightman. Mother-in-law of Neil Patterson and Daphne Wightman. Grandmother of Kim and Kerry Frazer and Timothy, Andrew, Meagan and Peter Wightman. Great-grandmother of Sebastian and Raphael Grenier. A memorial Service will be held in St. Thomas, Ontario at a later date.

Quait - At St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Saturday, April 13, 2002, Charles Quait of St. Thomas in his 69th year. Survived by 3 sisters and 3 brothers. Cremation has taken place. A graveside service will be held at the Springfield cemetery at a later date.

Renaud - Howard Earl 64 years. Died April 15, 2002 at St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital after bravely fighting a lengthy illness. Late of St. Thomas and formerly of Windsor. Loving devoted husband of JoAnn (Botosan). Beloved father of Kim and Bill McKnight, Kingsville; Howard and Connie Renaud, Belle River and LeeAnn and John Salerno, Windsor. Treasured grandfather of Kasey, Kyle and Krysta McKnight, Nicole May Renaud, Brent and Amber Salerno. Dear brother of Garry and Pat Renaud, Brockville; Jonn Renaud, Vancouver and the late Dennis Renaud. Howard was employed at Kelsey Hayes for 25 years and at Ford Motor Co., Talbotville for the last 12 years. Visiting in the Walter D. Kelly Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 1969 Wyandotte St. E., Windsor on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The complete funeral service will be held in the chapel on Thursday, April 18, 2002 at 11 a.m. Rev. Donald McKay officiating. Cremation to follow.
