Mcgill - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Wednesday, April 17, 2002. Allen D. McGill of St. Thomas, in his 79th year. Born in Ottawa, Ontario, May 17, 1923, he was a resident of Port Stanley and St. Thomas since 1957. Mr. McGill was a retired employee of Brown-Fintube, St. Thomas. Father of Penny Kay and dear friend of Pat and Rose Ennis, Nancy and Jim Appleford and their son Kristopher, Bob and Gladys Burch and the late Phyllis Dionne (2001). At the request of Mr. McGill, there will be no public visitation or funeral service. Cremation to take place. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the charity of one's choice. Shaw - Shirley I, at Caressant Care Nursing Home, Mary Bucke Street, St. Thomas, on Sunday, April 14, 2002. Shirley (Williams) Shaw, in her 73rd year, wife of the late Bruce H. Shaw. Mother of Rory Robertson and his wife Carol of London, Trevor Robertson of London, and Craig Robertson of Lucan. Brother of Douglas Williams of St. Thomas, Eileen Carrington and her husband Bill of Collingwood, Gary Williams and his wife Joyce of Langley, B.C., Clare Williams and his wife Judy of Nova Scotia, and the late Edwin Williams of Langley, B.C. She is also survived by her two grandsons and two great-grandsons. Cremation took place at Woodland Crematorium, London. A memorial service was held at Central United Church, St. Thomas, on Monday evening. Interment will be made in Elmdale Memorial Park. The R.E. Allen Funeral Chapel, St. Thomas was in charge of the arrangements. The family would like to express their appreciation to the doctors, nurses, and staff of Caressant Care Nursing Home for their kindness and support while Shirley was in their care.
