Young - In St. Thomas on Wednesday, April 17th, 2002. Duane Young of St. Thomas suddenly in his 35th year. Beloved husband of Tanya Rawcliffe and dearly loved son of Dick and Donna Young, St. Thomas. Loved father of Shane, Andrew, Matthew and Bradley. Dear brother of Teresa and her husband Jamie Hayward, Windsor and Susan and her husband Mike Colquhoun, St.Thomas and dear step brother of William Young, St. Thomas. Duane is also lovingly remembered by his grandmothers May Bastedo, St. Thomas and Marjorie Farrell, England, by his in-laws Garry and Elaine Rawcliffe and by a number of nieces and nephews. Duane worked at the Dana Corporation in St. Thomas and was a member of Masonic Lodge #140 in Aylmer. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St. Thomas where funeral service will be held Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Interment Elmdale Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 1 to 3 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Masonic service will be conducted at the funeral home Friday evening 7:00 p.m. by the Officers and Members of Malahide Lodge #140 A.F. & A.M. Remembrances may be made to the London Childrens Hospital.

Brown - Colin Daniel; Died suddenly as a result of a Brain Tumour, at his residence in Toronto, at the age of 27. Loving son of Susan & Giles Hutcheson and Dan Brown & Sarah Hutcheson, all of Cambridge. Special grandson of Norma Mansell of St. Thomas, ON. Colin, the gentle giant, will always be remembered by his many friends for his wit and great senses of humour. A Memorial Service will be conducted in the Chapel of Little’s Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 223 Main St., E., Cambridge on Saturday, April 20, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. with his family and friends sharing in the service. There will be no visitation at the funeral home. Cremation has taken place. Remembrances to a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.

Fleming - At the St. Thomas-Elgin General Hospital on Thursday, April 18, 2002. Donald W. Fleming of St. Thomas, beloved husband of Nancy (Sinclair) Fleming, in his 75th year. Born in St.Thomas, August 11, 1927, son of the late Joseph and Ida May (Arnold) Fleming and stepson of the late Janet (Martin) Fleming. He was a retired carman with the Chesapeake & Ohio Railroad. Mr. Fleming was a member of St. David’s Lodge #302, A.F. & A.M., St. Thomas, Burleigh Preceptory #21, Knights Templar, St. Thomas, Mocha Temple Shrine, London and Hi Ro Shrine Club, St. Thomas where he was a member of Hillbilly Clan 59. Dearly loved father of Alan Fleming and his wife Leanne of St. Albert, A.B. Mark Fleming and his wife Lana, David Fleming and his wife Robin, Lance Fleming, all of St. Thomas and late Scott Fleming (1968). Cherished grandfather of Nettie, Sage, Fraser, Marissa and Eva. Dear brother of Fred Fleming and his wife Clara of St. Thomas, late Arnold Fleming and late Mary Joan Moncion. Also survived by in-laws, Margaret and Don Turville of Essex and Wilma Fleming of St. Thomas and many nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Sifton Funeral Home, 118 Wellington St., St. Thomas on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where funeral and committal service will be conducted Saturday at 1 p.m. Interment in Tyrconnell cemetery. Memorial donations to the Parkinson Society Canada or charity of one’s choice gratefully acknowledged. A memorial service will be conducted at the funeral home Friday at 6:45 p.m. under the auspices of St. David’s Lodge #302, A.F. & A.M.

Bowman - Suddenly at London Health Sciences Centre-Victoria Campus on Wednesday April 17, 2002, Donald Allan Bowman of London in his 72nd year. Beloved husband of Nancy Bowman for 44 years. Loving father of Brian and his wife Diana, Brenda and Robert. Loving and proud Papa to Wyatt and Foster. Survived by his sister Catherine and her husband William Livingstone and brother-in-law Norman Peckham. Predeceased by his parents John and Jean Bowman and sister Margaret Peckham. Visitation in the Lloyd R. Needham Funeral Chapel, 520 Dundas Street, on Friday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. where the funeral service will be conducted on Saturday April 20th at 10:00 a.m. Interment Mt. Meharg - Helen (Hedges) Meharg of St.Thomas and formerly RR 31 Courtland passed away at the Valley View Nursing Home, St.Thomas on Thursday April 18, 2002 in her 86th year. Beloved wife of the late George Meharg (1987) and the late Ken Howard (1998). Beloved mother of Carol Morrow and her husband Norman of Cloyne, Ont., David Meharg and his wife Mary of RR #3 St. Thomas, Bruce Meharg of Calgary, Alberta and Madeline Meharg and George VanMater of Annapolis, Maryland. Sadly missed by 4 grandchildren; Jim and Greg Morrow and April and Brian Meharg as well as 2 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Dear sister to Myrtle Stevenson of Beamsville, Bruce & Helen Hedges of Tillsonburg, Henry and Jean Hedges of St. George and Bill and Edith Hedges of Langton. Predeceased by brothers; Walter Hedges (1973) and Donald Hedges (1924). Helen taught for 32 years in Tillsonburg and Delhi areas. Friends will be received at the Ostrander’s Funeral Home, Tillsonburg on Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Monday, April 22, 2002 at 11 a.m. with Rev. Margaret Murray officiating. Interment in the Tillsonburg cemetery. In Lieu of Flowers Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged.

Abbot - At her residence on Sunday, April 21st, 2002. Mrs. Veta Elizabeth Abbot of the Caressant Care Home on Bonnie Pl. St.Thomas in her 93rd year. Beloved wife of Robert Abbot and loved sister of Helen Westaway of St.Thomas. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. Veta was the daughter of the late Thomas and Sarah Bennett, she had worked at St. Thomas Metal Signs, Mecalfe Shoe and at Woolworths. She was a member of the St. Thomas Christian Church. Resting at Williams Funeral Home, 45 Elgin St., St.Thomas where funeral service will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. Interment to follow at the Elmdale Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. Remembrances may be made to the charity of one choice.

Dye - At London Health Science Centre, Victoria Campus, London on Saturday, April 20, 2002. Elizabeth (Betty) Dye of Dorchester in her 73rd year. Predeceased by her loving husband Dean Dye (1987). Loving mother of Connie Dunn of Dorchester. Wayne Dye and wife of Judy of St. Thomas, Kit Riley and her husband Martin of New Sarum and Michael Dye and his wife Nancy of Mossley. Loving Grandmother of Stacey, Michele, Richard, Daniel, Trevor, Travis, Nicole, Eric, Patti, Andie and Nikki. Also survived by a sister Mrs. Lloyd (Josephine) Monk of London and a step-sister Mrs. Edna Morley of Mentor, Ohio. Predeceased by a sister Lydia Rundle and a brother Robert Johnson. Cremation has taken place. Private family arrangements. No flowers please. Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.
