Cunningham: Ruth Lena

Date of Death: March 19th 2003
CUNNINGHAM, Ruth Lena (Crawford) Born in Newcastle Creek, New Brunswick, May 28, 1912, Ruth ended her life’s journey in her 91st year on Wednesday, March 19, 2003 in Ottawa. A lady of great compassion, love and caring, Ruth was one of eleven children. She is survived by six sisters, five of whom live in New Brunswick. She will be forever in the hearts of her husband Donald and their four children Leslie (Terry) Forbes, David (Janet), Harris (Lynn), and Janice Cunningham who in their sorrow at her passing are thankful for her courage, steadfast faith and loving devotion. Granny to six grandchildren and Great Gran to five, Ruth’s hugs, encouragement, love, homemade bread and cookies will be greatly missed as she was a special lady in their lives. The family are indebted to the staff of the Rehabilitation Centre Section A, and thank them for their loving and compassionate care of Ruth. A service of Thanksgiving for Ruth’s life will be held on Sunday, March 23rd at 3 pm, at the Seventh Day Adventist Church, 2200 Benjamin Avenue. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations in Ruth’s memory to the Kidney Foundation of Canada or your favourite charity.

Curran: Clifford Cecil

CURRAN - At his residence on December 25, 2003, CLIFFORD CECIL CURRAN, age 81 of Sarnia. Cherished brother of Harry Curran & his wife Clara, and the late Charlie Curran (1993). Dear uncle of Jeff Curran & wife Mary Lou, Charlesworth, David Curran, Pt. Edward and Michele Love Curran, North Bay. Great Uncle of Kyle and Chris Curran. Special friend of Mary Fisher. Cliff was a retiree of J.L. Hudson in Detroit with over 30 years service, a member of St. Andrews Senior's, and a member of the Strangway Centre. Cliff was a WWII veteran who served in the Armed Forces, Visitation at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 Christina St. N., Monday 3-5 p.m. Funeral service will be held 12:30 p.m. Tuesday in the McKenzie & Blundy Chapel. Cremation to follow. Interment at Lakeview cemetery at a later date. As an expression of sympathy, friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, 774 London Rd., Sarnia, N7T 4Y1

Czombos, Bert peacefully at home on Tuesday November 18, 2003 at the age of 71. Beloved husband of Margaret (Ribble) for 46 years. Loving father of Bert Czombos and his wife Laura, Windsor and Catharine Leko and husband David, Drumbo, Ontario. Dearest grandfather of Davis Czombos and Thomas, Luke and Emily Leko. Dear brother of Lenke Balogh and her late husband Peter, Margaret Kalapos and husband Steve, Ethel Golden and her late husband Norton, the late Julius Czombos, Eileen Czombos and John Czombos and wife Laura. Bert will also be remembered by many brothers and sisters in law, and numerous nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Bert retired from Champion Spark Plug after 36 years of service. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home, 87 Maidstone Ave. East, Essex (776-4233) on Wednesday 7-9 pm and Thursday 2-5 and 7-9 pm. Funeral Service to celebrate Bert’s life from the funeral home on Friday November 21st, 2003 at 1:00 pm. George Bisnett officiating. Entombment Windsor Memorial Gardens cemetery. Donations made to Windsor Regional Cancer Centre or Hospice of Windsor & Essex County would be appreciated.

DEAN, Robert Elden Peacefully in his sleep, after a two month illness, we announce the passing of our much loved father in his 85th year on Sunday, March 30, 2003 at Credit Valley Hospital in Mississauga. Beloved husband of late Margery Ethel, devoted father of Allenna, Ruth and Brian, grandfather of Sarah and Brendan and uncle of Deanna. Respected friend, uncle and brother-in-law. ‘Bob’ will be well remembered for his sense of humour, his love for the outdoors and enthusiasm for fishing. He was also a long time member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows. Special thanks to the staff of Credit Valley Hospital and Dr. Inouye who demonstrated such care and compassion. Friends and family may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd, Nepean. (between Bayshore Drive and Baseline Road) on Tuesday April 1st from 2-5 and 7-9. Dear mother of Douglas (Judy) of Ottawa, Jerry (Sheila) of Paris, Ted of Paris, Dell (Kim) of Barrie, and Randy (Wendy) of Minesing. Predeceased by son Robert in 1961. Sister of Marguerite Dick, Audrey LaPlante, William Dobson, and the late Norma Nixon, Kenneth Dobson, and Raymond Dobson. She was a loving grandmother to 11 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Friends called at the STECKLEY-GOODERHAM FUNERAL HOME (Clapperton and Worsley Streets), Barrie, on Monday, from 2-4 and 7-9 pm.
