Garbutt, Graham, 34 years, passed away suddenly on Monday, December 22, 2003. Late residence, Ottawa. Dear son of Jill Ryall and husband Don, Ruthven; Frank Garbutt and wife Nicole, Ottawa. Dear brother of Steven and wife Lisa, Amherstburg; Mary Garbutt, Toronto; Nicole Leveque and husband Ray, Windsor. Loving grandson of Luella Federonick, Chatham; Frances Mary Garbutt, London. Cherished uncle of Josslyn, Jade, Justin and Christopher. Graham was with the Canadian Armed Forces, serving in Ottawa. Visiting at the Reid Funeral Home, 14 Russell Street Leamington (326-2631) on Saturday December 27, 2003 from 1 p.m. until time of Memorial Service at 4 p.m. Linda Blair officiating. Cremation. Memorial donations made by cheque to the Essex County Humane Society would be appreciated.

GAGNON - At L.H.G. Mitton St. Site on Wednesday, December 10, 2003. SYLVIO GAGNON, born April 30, 1930 in Lambton, Quebec. Beloved husband of 50 years of Agathe (Couture). Dear father of Gilles & his wife Mary Kit, Burlington, Nicole Bigras & her husband Rick, Sarnia and Denis & his wife Monique, Kilbride. Loving grandfather of Lise, Michael, Nicholas, Emily, Chantal, Patrick and Samuel. Brother of Rejean & his wife Claire, Giselle Campeau and Lorette Roy, all of Quebec. Predeceased by parents Ernest & Valerie Gagnon, brothers Bertrand, Jean Marc and Claude and sister Madeleine Robert. Visitation for family & close friends will be held at the McKenzie & Blundy Funeral Home & Cremation Centre, 431 N. Christina St., Sarnia Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where prayers will be offered at 3:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial 10 a.m. Monday at Sacred Heart Church. Private interment Our Lady of Mercy cemetery. As an expression of sympathy friends who wish may send memorial donations to the Ontario Heart & Stroke Foundation, 774 London Rd., Sarnia N7T 4Y1. Sylvio lived his life to the fullest and loved his family dearly. He will be dearly missed.

Beloved mother of Michael Fruhstuck and his wife Donna of Churchill. Loving Oma of Matthew. Will be sadly missed by family, friends and stray animals. Friends may call at the Steckley-Gooderham Funeral Home, Clapperton and Worsley St., Barrie on Tuesday from 7:00pm until 9:00pm. Funeral mass from St. John Vianney Church, Barrie on Wednesday, October 29th at 10:00am. Interment Sixth Line cemetery , Innisfil. Memorial donations may be made to the O. S. P. C. A., Barrie.

Friesen: Mavis

FRIESEN, Mavis Peacefully, in hospital, on Friday, August 22, 2003 in her 80th year. Predeceased by her husband Ernest (Bob) Friesen. Loving mother of Kenneth (Dorothy), Brian (Mary), Susan Moore (Mike) and Glenn (Tammy). Also survived by 11 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dear sister of Elizabeth Gray and the late Alma, Geraldine, Isobel, Eddy, Shirley and Kenneth. Sister-in-law of Barbara Hobbs and Doug Beaton. Friends may attend the funeral service at the Westboro Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 403 Richmond Road at Roosevelt on Monday at 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Hospital Foundation, Palliative Care Unit would be appreciated.

Born March 1, 1964, darling daughter of Bettyann (and Ray) Cunningham and Bruce (and Jill) French. Beloved sister of Sheryl and Shad Harris, David and Kelly French, Brent and Anna French, Sarah Cunningham and Andy, Brad and Karen Cunningham. "Auntie Mel" to her "babies" and fellow Disney fans Emmett, Justin, Jenna, Jesse and Thomas. Dear niece of Keith and Audrey Featherston and Sharron and AJ Quarrington. Cherished cousin of Heather, Dan and Gordon. Loved by other family in Ottawa, New Brunswick and Vancouver. Missed by her best furry friend Seamus. Special thanks to Dr. Nicole Delbrouck for her caring. Many thanks to the doctors and nurses of 5 West Hematology, General Campus of the Ottawa Hospital for their exceptional care. Melanie will be remembered for her sweet smile by all who knew her. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Rd., (between Bayshore and Baseline Rd.), on Monday January 27, from 7 to 9 p.m. A private family service to celebrate Melanie's life will be held. Freeman – Beatrice Helena Peacefully at the Hospice at May Court on Tuesday, July 15, 2003 in her 89th year. Beloved wife of the late William Freeman. Loving mother of Linda Edey (David) and Brent (Diane). Cherished grandmother of Jeffrey Edey (Shelley) and Mark Edey (Dorothy), Kristen, Lindsey, Stacey and Brett Freeman. Great grandmother of Zak, Adam and Brooke. Sister of Eric and Oliver Gates. Predeceased by sisters Pearl Coutts, Muriel Ferguson, Marion Coughlin and brother Clifford Gates. Special thanks to everyone at the Hospice at May Court for their exceptional loving care. Friends may call at the Garden Chapel of Tubman Funeral Homes, 3440 Richmond Road, Nepean (between Bayshore Drive and Baseline Road) on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday at 10:30 a.m. Interment Pinecrest cemetery. Beloved wife and life companion for more than 50 years of the late Donald Albert Fowlie. Cherished mother of Donna Brown (Andrew) of England and Grant Fowlie (Naomi) of Ottawa. Proud and loving grandmother of Bruce (Ruth) and Hilary Brown of England; Adrienne and Kent Fowlie of Ottawa. Dear sister of Kenneth Redshaw (Betty) of California. Predeceased by sister and brother-in-law Molly and Charles Clare. Many sincere and heartfelt thanks to caregivers Joyce, Ena and Elaine for their love and care. Grateful acknowledgment to all the staff at Thorncliffe Place for making Shyrle’s retirement years, living among friends, happy and enjoyable. Shyrle will always be remembered by family and friends as a gracious homemaker, loving mother and for her exquisite needlework. Ford: Basil "Ben" Peacefully at home on Saturday July 12, 2003 at the age of 78. Predeceased by his wife Kathy. Dear father of Marion and Pam. Ben will be missed by all of his grandchildren and special friend Joan. At Ben's request, their will be no visitation or service. For those who wish, a donation to the charity of choice would be appreciated.

FOLEY, Daniel Bernard Suddenly on Tuesday, February 4, 2003, Danny Foley, age 43, dearly loved husband of Kathy Shay. Will be sadly missed by Marian and James Shay of Manotick, Fred, Lois, Jesse and Carrisa Shay of Merrickville, nephew Langford Roy of Ottawa and dear friends. Also, many family members and good fishing buddies in St. John’s. Mass and interment to be held in St. John’s, Newfoundland. Arrangements entrusted to Tubman Funeral Homes, 722-6559.

Fitter: William David

Fitter: William David passed away peacefully with his family by his side at Grey Bruce Health Services in Owen Sound on Saturday, December 13, 2003 after a courageous battle with cancer. Dave Fitter of Owen Sound in his 64th year. Loving husband of Patricia. Dear father of Kelly of Richmond Hill, John and Jo-Anne both of Owen Sound. Brother of Ruth (Jim) Simpson, Karen (Jim) Siegrist and Brian (Judy) Fitter. Brother-in-law of Betty Fitter, Gary and Mary Lou MacDonnell, Colin and Donna Gollert, John and Marilyn Allison. Son-in-law of Isabel Allison. Predeceased by his parents Louisa and John (Jack) Fitter, brother Paul and father-in-law John (Jack) Allison. Uncle Dave will be fondly remembered by all of his nieces and nephews and their families. Dave was a long time member of the Crescent Club of Owen Sound. Friends are invited to the Tannahill Funeral Home, 376-3710 for visiting on Tuesday from 2 – 4 and 7 – 9 p.m. The funeral service will be conducted in the chapel on Wednesday, December 17th at 1:00 p.m. with Archdeacon Christopher Pratt of St. George’s Anglican Church officiating. Interment in Greenwood cemetery , Owen Sound. As expressions of sympathy, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or Arthritis Society.
