DesRosiers, Dollard

Dollard Joseph Arthur, ptr. passed away suddenly at home on December 3, 2004 at the age of 74. A teacher and parish priest, Dollard leaves behind a sister, Réjeanne DesRosiers, two sisters-in-law, Anita (Gagné) and Carmelle (Grenier) DesRosiers and his nieces and nephews: Lise (Bill), Michel (Sandra), Diane, Carole (Arley), Suzanne (Richard), Lucie (Larry), Sylvie (André), and Luc. Predeceased by his parents Léonidas and Jeanne (nee Marion) DesRosiers, and his siblings Val, Hector and Lilianne DesRosiers. Visitation will be held at Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St-Joseph Blvd., Orléans on Tuesday, December 7, 2004 from 2 - 4 p.m. and 7 - 9 p.m., and from 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 8, 2004. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, December 8, 2004 at 11 a.m. at Sainte-Marie Parish, 4831 Innes Road in Orleans. McNeil, Sandra

At St.Vincent’s Hospital on Thursday, February 10, 2005 after a courageous battle with cancer. Beloved spouse of Ken Ward, daughter of Daniel McNeil and the late Doreen (nee Bell), sister of Sharon, Brenda and Anne Marie McNeil, and best friend to Catherine Postma. Sandra had a fondness for animals, canoeing, camping, curling and ballet dancing. She was an active member of the Miniature Enthusiasts of Ottawa for over 20 years. She also enjoyed aerobics and fitness activities. Sandra worked 31 years in the Federal Government, most recently with Industry Canada. Relatives and friends will be received at Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St. Joseph Blvd., Orléans, on Monday February 14, 2005 at 2 p.m. for a memorial service celebrating Sandra’s life, followed by a reception. In lieu of flowers donations may be made at www.heritagefh.ca. to the Brain Tumour Support Group, St. Vincent’s Hospital Foundation and/or the Ottawa Regional Cancer Centre Foundation. Est décédée le mercredi 2 février 2005 à l’âge de 92 ans. Fille de feu Joseph Charbonneau et de feu Joséphine Meunier, avant-dernière d’une famille de dix enfants, tous décédés, elle laisse dans le deuil son époux bien-aimé Florent Major, ses deux fils : François (Huguette Biage-Major) de Brossard et Hubert (Marguerite Jackson) de Gatineau, ses six petits-enfants : Philippe, Étienne, Antoine, Julie, Simon et Colette ainsi que plusieurs neveux, nièces et amis. Il n’y aura pas de visites au salon funéraire. Un service religieux en présence des cendres sera célébré le samedi 5 février 2005 à 12 h en l’église Sacré-Coeur, 591 rue Cumberland (angle Laurier et Cumberland) à Ottawa. La famille accueillera parents et amis à l’église à compter de 11 h 15. L’inhumation aura lieu au printemps. Born September 21, 1922, died of pancreatic cancer on February 8, 2005. Survived by Anita, his loving wife of 54 years; his three children, Tony (Anita), Marlene (Ron) and Christina (Mike); his six grandchildren and seven of his twelve siblings. Joe loved his family intensely. He will be missed. Surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer, Glenn left us peacefully in his sleep at the age of 41. Beloved son of Russell and Dolores Shaw (nee Ellwood). Grandson of William and Evelyn Ellwood (nee Garant). Dearly loved brother to Rusty, Kim Lamoy (David), Susan Lavallee (Robert), Curtis (Corrie) and Debbie Lowe (Stephen Sr.) Special uncle to Ariane, Tyler and Matthew Lavallee, Chase and Paige Lamoy, Stephen Jr., Robert and Tiffany Lowe. Special friend to Sonia Lindblad and “My Glenny” to Alexis. Fondly remembered by his many aunts, uncles and extended family members. Glenn was a devoted son and brother as well as a loyal friend to many. He always had a project on the go, often someone elses. He kept us laughing with his wit and unique sense of humour. He relaxed us with genuine warmth and caring. Generous with his time, his family and friends were his life’s focus. We will miss you Glenn and we celebrate the gift of your life. We were blessed. passed away in hospital, on Thursday, March 24, 2005 at the age of 87 years. Dmytro Buciak, beloved husband of the late Natalie Buciak. Loving father of Mike and Ray. He was born in Luzok, Ukraine on April 12, 1917. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him in Montreal and Ottawa. Brunet, J-F Roger

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing at the Ottawa Hospital of this kind hearted man whose generosity was without equals on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the age of 77 years. Roger was the beloved husband of Alice (née Beauchemin), whom he loved with a profound devotion. In the span of his busy life, Roger founded the 31st Troup of Orléans, was a member of Cursillo, Knights of Columbus, Marriage Encounter and Vie Montante as well as many other organizations. He was also employed for many years at the Montfort Hospital and later at the General Hospital of Ottawa as a nurse, Human Resources and finally with Pastoral Care. Ordained as a permanent Deacon in 1989 at St-Joseph Parish of Orléans, he primarily focused, with his Christian faith and compassion, on Pastoral of the sick. Son of the late Juliette Lauzon and the late Adrien Brunet. Predeceased by his brother Jean-Guy Brunet (Thérèse). He is survived by his sisters: Jacqueline Brunet (Ronald Gratton) and Bernadette Huneault (Al) ; his brother-in-law Gérard (Cécile) Beauchemin, his children : Jean-Pierre Brunet (Natalie), Lise (Roy) Davis, Sylvie (Yvon) Lapierre and René (Angela) Brunet ; his 14 grandchildren : Derrick, Natasha, Jean-Yves, Kevin, Nicolas, Véronique, Samuel, Marie-Sara, Benjamin, Andrée-Anne, Alexandra, Marie-Pier, Christian et Alexandre, as well as 5 great-grandchildren, aunts and many nephews, nieces and friends. Sincere thanks to Dr. L'Heureux and Dr. Quevillon, as well as the staff of the Ottawa Hospital for their excellent care and compassion. passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 20, 2005 at the age of 90. She is survived by her son Richard (Suzanne Côté) and her grand-children Sylvie Schnobb-Hogan (Stephen), Christian Schnobb (Shannon Szkurhan) and Paul Villeneuve (Hélène Brodeur). She is also survived by two great-grand-children, Sabrina and Sophie Hogan. She was predeceased by her husband Sylvio Schnobb and her daughter Lucille Villeneuve (Jean-Claude). Beloved daughter of the late Alphonse Lemay and Albina Surprenant from St. Boniface, Manitoba. She is survived by her brothers Albert Lemay (Thérèse Desmarais), Tony Lemay (Helen Stewart), Armand Lemay and her sister Cécile Perret (Jules). passed away peacefully at home, after a long battle with brain cancer, on Friday, March 11, 2005 at the age of 62 years. Claire is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Pierre Verdon ; her loving daughters Roxanne Verdon-Laporte (Martin Laporte) and Joanne Verdon and her cherished twin granddaughters Jessica and Tracey-Anne Laporte. Daughter of Léo Fortin and of the late Edith Fortin. Sister of René Fortin and Marcel Fortin. She will be sadly missed by nieces, nephews and the many friends she has made over the years. Claire was a long time employee of the Royal Bank for over 30 years. Claire’s family would like to thank everyone for their generous support during the time of her illness.
