Clermont, Archibald Joseph

Surrounded by his loved ones, Archibald passed away at the Madonna nursing home, on Monday, November 21, 2005 at the age of 94. Beloved husband of the late Marguerite Paquette. Son of the late Joseph Clermont and Ida Potvin. Loving father of Jacques (Maureen), Suzanne Cousineau (Gérald), Richard (Nicole), Pierre (Patrina), Gérald (Carmen), Gilles (Rachel) and Jocelyne Gauthier (Gaetan). Predeceased by his daughter Lise. He will be fondly remembered by 23 grand-children, 13 great grand-children and by many nephews and nieces. Dear brother of Victor (Rose-Mai) of Gatineau and Marguerite Brennan of British Columbia. Predeceased by brothers Alderic, Lionel, Augustin, Ernest, Jean, Nicolas, Andrew and sisters Agnes, Theresa, Gracia and Lucienne. A funeral mass celebrating Archibald’s life will be held at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2757 St. Joseph Blvd., Orléans, on Friday, November 25, 2005, at 11 a.m. A reception at the church hall will follow the funeral. Internment at Notre-Dame cemetery. Special thanks to Dr. André Gauthier and his wife Lorraine and employees of the Madonna nursing home. Suddenly on November 14, 2005 at the age of 55, at the Peel Memorial Hospital, Brampton. Dr. Patrick Sheehan, formerly of Ottawa, Toronto, Thompson MB, and Dublin Ireland. Loving father of Treacey, Samantha, Sinead of Mississauga and Patrick of Ottawa. He will be fondly remembered by his former spouses Mary Treacey of Mississauga and Donna Lee Smith of Ottawa. Dear brother of the late Ann Daly (Ray), Brian (Anne Marie) and Kieran (Elizabeth), all of Ireland. Predeceased by his parents Patrick Sheehan and Maighread O’Connor. Pat will be sadly missed by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. The family will receive relatives and friends at Heritage Funeral Home, 2871 St. Joseph Blvd., Orléans on Friday, 18, 2005 from 7-9 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at Divine Infant Parish, 6658 Bilberry Dr., Orléans, on Saturday, November 19, 2005 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at the Beechwood cemetery , Ottawa. After a long and courageous battle, Tony passed away surrounded by his loving family on Monday, November 14, 2005 at the age of 73 years. Beloved husband and best friend of Fran Young. Loving father of Tim (Liz), Jeff (Kim), Kerry (Shawn McCambley) and Marnie (Brian Fevrier). Cherished grandpa of Katie, Kristie, Joey, Chelsea, Liam, Tyson and Jaidyn. Dear brother of Marge McKenna of Chicago, Irene Chandler, Terry Chandler, Mary Ann Summers (Kenny). He will be sadly missed by his in-laws Helene Houlahan, JoAnne Houlahan of Uxbridge, Jean and Len Beamish of Guelph, Wilf and Berneice Young, Connie and Sam Dagg as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by sisters Helen and Lois and brothers Ed, Neil and Roy. Sincere thanks to the staff of 5E at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the staff of Elisabeth-Bruyère Pavillion for their care and compassion. Very special thanks to his dear friends Pat Barr and Kevin Barr. Captain Jack T. Stow
Master Mariner 1914-2005

Jack has passed away on November 15th, at the age of 91, after a brief illness. Predeceased by his beloved wife of 65 years, Maisie. His memory will be cherished by daughter Susan (Jacques), sons Peter (Jennifer), Jack (Lesley), Bill (Beverley) and Philip (Stella); grandchildren Nicholas, Peter James, Nikki, Megan, Jason, Jennifer, Stephen, Jillian, Kathryn, Julie, Jackie, Philippe, Ben and Paul and many great-grandchildren. Born in Lincolnshire, England, Jack joined the British Merchant Navy as an apprentice in 1931 and sailed to Africa, Australia and India during the four years of his indenture with Clan Line Steamers. He came ashore in 1935 to marry Maisie and help his father George who owned the village General Store at Chapel-St-Leonards –“Stow’s Stores” – but returned to sea as an Able Seaman Gunner when war broke out in 1939. He served continuously throughout the war, surviving many attacks from above and beneath the sea. In 1941 he was commended for bravery by Prime Minister Winston Churchill for his part in the rescue from the sea of 109 survivors while his convoy was under attack by German U-boats. In 1957, Jack left active Merchant Navy service and emigrated with the family to Canada, where Jack would become Chief Marine Officer of the St Lawrence Seaway Authority in Cornwall until his retirement in 1980. He was also an active member and past President of the Rotary Club, and a member of the Company of Master Mariners of Canada. Jack’s remains will be interred beside Maisie at St Luke’s Anglican Church in Hubbards, Nova Scotia on Saturday, November 19th. There will be no service or visitation in Ottawa. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Mission to Seafarers, PO Box 27114, Halifax N.S B3H 4M8 or to a charity of your choice. The family wishes to thank Dave Porter and the staff of Blackburn Lodge Seniors Residence for the compassionate care and support they have given Jack over the past six years. Peacefully, on Thursday November 10, 2005, at the age of 54 Don was called to be with the Lord. Beloved wife and best friend of Hermina. Loving father of Amanda, Donald Jr and Stacey. Cherished son of Mary and the late John Mihalik. Dear brother of Sharlene Smith (Ian), Karen, Dan and uncle to Jonathan. Predeceased by his son Richard and his brother John Walter. Many uncles, aunts, cousins, sister and bother-in-laws, nieces, nephews and friends, will miss him. Don was a dedicated employee of DND for 30 years.
