Ruth died peacefully at Medex Extendicare on May 28, 2007 with family at her side. Loving wife of George Loveridge for 66 years. Dear mother of Susan and Ted. Mother-in-law of Jana Loveridge and the late Al McDowell. Cherished grandmother to Kim (Gerry McGillvray), Karen (Jonathan Donaldson) and Alex McDowell Jr., Kile and Shawn Loveridge. It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Evelyn on June 5, 2007. She leaves behind daughters Cindy (Carlo Mady), Bonnie (Gord West), Susan (Wally Gale), grandchildren Matthew, Jordan, Courtney, Tyler and Jessica, sisters Ruth Hopkinson, Janet Ransom, Irene DesRoches and brother John Finlay. Peacefully on Friday, June 1, 2007 at the Hospice at May Court, following a lengthy illness. Adored husband of Barbara (nee Wynkie). Loving father of Andrew (Theresa Cody), Matthew and Claudia (Douglas McKeen). Proud grandfather of Emma, Blair, Sheila and Reid. Also survived by his sister Katherine Hunter of Toronto. Following his retirement from the Canadian Bank Note Co. as Senior Vice-President he entered into a business partnership with James Young. Art was a proud and committed member of the Kiwanis Club of Ottawa, Royal Ottawa Golf Club and the Laurentian Club (Past President) and an enthusiastic cottager. He was a man of integrity and honour who will be missed by many. Loving father of Barbara, Ottawa, and Margaret (Sherif Raafat), London, England. Dear Grandpa to Sara and Adham Raafat. Survived by his sister, Evelyn Bourne, cousin, Margo LaLiberte, Montreal, and dear friend, Gwen Laughren. “Pappy II” to his niece, Judith Nunn Fogg. Uncle Eddie to many nieces, nephews and friends. Predeceased by his brother, Robert (2002), his sister, Edith Oliver (2005), and his nephew, Kenneth (2005). Longtime actor and supporter of the Ottawa Little Theatre and the Orpheus Musical Society. Honourary President, Orpheus, 2006-2007. Member of Civil Service Lodge A.F. & A.M. Cartographer with Geological Survey of Canada (retired 1975). The family wishes to thank the staff of Park Place Retirement Residence for its care and compassion particularly during Dad’s last few weeks. Cremation. He will also be missed by Debbie’s family, and his aunts and uncles. As a Royal Roads Military College graduate and military pilot, Mike also leaves behind numerous friends and colleagues he was honoured to serve with.
