Mrs. John W. Bradley (Estella Trainor) - It is with great sorrow that we begin the sad duty of penning a few lines in tribute to the late Mrs. John W. Bradley whose death took place very suddenly in the early hours of Thursday, November 24, 1949. Although Mrs. Bradley had not been feeling well and had had some treatment in hospital, her death came as a distinct shock to her immediate family and acquaintances. After having some treatment in hospital it was felt that she was on the road to recovery and only the day before she had come to the home of her son, Thomas A., of 75 Spring Park Road, for a period of convalescence. However, God had willed her to eternal reward on the above mentioned date.
Della, as she was fondly known to her friends, was of a very generous and jolly disposition and consequently made friends easily. She was an energetic worker, not only at home but in any worthwhile project for the betterment of church, school or the community at large. However the very sudden death of her beloved husband less than two years ago, was a shock from which she never fully recovered. From that day she seemed to have lost something of her old self, and in her heart was a great void which could never be filled in this world. However, she still retained her wonderful qualities and had still the same true love for her children; and to the end, her first thoughts were for their happiness and welfare rather than for her own.
The late Mrs. Bradley, who was in her 58th year was born in Maplewood and was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Peter Trainor of that district. In 1917 she married the late John William Bradley of Kelly's Cross.
From this union were born seven children-four sons and three daughters, who now mourn the loss of a truly devoted mother. They are Mary, Peter, Lawrence and Teresa at home. Reta, teacher in North Wiltshire School; Tommy, teacher in Queen Square School; City, and Austin, student in St. Dunstan's University. She also leaves the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Emily Smith of Maplewood, Mrs. John W. McKenna of Kelly's Cross, Mrs. Frank Flood, Charlottetown, John E. Trainor, Maplewood, Horace of Halifax, also Charlie and Anthony Trainor in Western Canada.
The funeral which was very largely attended in spite of a very wet day and an almost impassible condition of the roads, was very largely attended. Requiem High Mass was sung by her pastor the Rev. Wilfred Keefe who also performed the committal service in the cemetery adjoining St. Joseph's Church in Kelly's Cross. Rev. Wm. McCabe of Charlottetown, a former pastor was present in the sanctuary. Also Rev. George McCormack.
The very long list of masses, spiritual bouquets and messages amply testify to the high respect in which the deceased was held by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. In her death the parish of Kelly's Cross has lost one of it's most valued and devoted members. Probably no better or truer acknowledgment of her worth could be given than to say with all truth and sincerity: "She was a true and loving wife, a wonderful mother and an abiding and trusty friend."
To her bereaved family, we express our deepest sympathy, and pray God to have mercy on her soul.

He will be sorely missed.

MALONE - At North Tryon, July 2, 1937 Henry (Harry) Malone, aged 78 years.
Funeral Sunday from his late residence at 2 o’clock; service at Presbyterian Church at 2.30.

LLOYD PATRICK WALSH - The village of Albany and surrounding districts were greatly saddened on July 10, 1972, when it became known that Lloyd Walsh had passed away in the Prince County Hospital after a lengthy illness.3
The late Mr. Walsh was born in Tryon and was the eldest son of the late Sampson and Nellie (Malone) Walsh.
His pleasant and joyful manner endeared him to all and earned for him a host of friends. He will be missed mostly in the home for his love and kindness.
As a young man he had taken the position as a Mail Courier where he completed 40 years of service in June. He was an ardent sportsman and followed horse racing and hockey for many years. He was a staunch supporter of the Liberal Party.
Besides his sorrowing wife the former Frances Cobb, he leaves to mourn, five daughters and four sons: Myrtle, Mrs. Melvin Waddell, Carleton; Doreen, Mrs. Lloyd Waddell, Albany; Audrey, Mrs. James Smith, Scarborough, Ontario; Eileen, Mrs. Gabriel Keough, Borden; Janet at home; John, Summerside; Allison, Albany; Sam and Brian at home. Active pallbearers were: Reginald Thomas, Clayton Thomas, Eldon Large, Frank MacKay, Donald Cameron, and Milton Martin.
Flowerbearers were: William Bassett, George Green, Eldon Frances, Rowan Sherry, Wyman Waddell, and James Warren.
Interment was in the People's Cemetery, Tryon.

FRANCIS MARTHA (COBB) WALSH - May life give its best to the dearest of Mothers, whose life is given to doing for others.
It's been a year since Mom left us on Saturday, January 15, 1994 surrounded by her loved ones, our Lord called Frances, our dear mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, home to her eternal rest.
On November 10, 1914, Frances Martha was born in Lethbridge, Alberta to Myrtle (Fielding) and Frank Cobb.
Her early years were spent in Mount Tryon, PEI enjoying school, church, family and friends.
On October 14, 1931, Frances married Lloyd Patrick Walsh of Albany, PEI and from that union she leaves to mourn her passing: Myrtle (Mrs. Melvin Waddell), Jack, Allison and daughter-in-law Jean, Doreen (Mrs. Lloyd Waddell), Audrey (Mrs. James Smith), Eileen (Mrs. Gabe Keough), Sam and daughter-in-law Carol, Janet (Mrs. Charles McNally), Brian and daughter-in-law Debbie.
On July 26, 1994 our dear brother Jack joined Mom in God's home of eternal rest.
Cherishing her memory are her sisters Beatrice (Mrs. Harvey MacRae), Rhoda (Mrs. Walter Bernard), Eileen (Mrs. Don Clark), brothers Ralph and sister-in-law Edith, Thomas and sister-in-law Marie.
She was predeceased by her husband Lloyd, her children Joyce, Beatrice, and Douglas, her brother Heath Cobb, her granddaughter Joan (Waddell) Rogers and grandson Gary Smith.
(Gram) (Nanny) had kindness and support for her 35 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren thus earning her a great wealth of respect and love in return. Each in their own special way was a source of pride and their times together made her very happy. Frances was a caring lady with a great smile. One of her greatest gifts was her ability to create a loving home. Through hard times and good times her door was always open. She was there for her family and friends to listen and give support.
Frances enjoyed bingo and card parties with her friends. Family gatherings and visits and dinners at the homes of her children and grandchildren were some of her happiest times.
On March 1, 1985, Frances left the home she dearly loved and moved to the Senior Citizens Apartments in Borden. Her special warmth soon rewarded her with many friends, special friend Rita DesRoches comes to mind as there was rarely an evening that these two ladies didn't visit and chat about the daily events. Frances enjoyed the company of her fellow residents in visiting together while they played an evening game of cards.
As sure as she made a space for all of us in her heart, God has made a special place for her in Heaven.
Frances' funeral was held from the Cape Traverse United Church. Rev. Barbara Wagner conducted the service.
'Words of Remembrance', a poem written by grandson Ricky, was read by granddaughter Robyn Walsh.
Today, we mourn the loss of someone we love,
Whose spirit I can feel looking down from above,
It doesn't seen to matter how hard I try,
When I think of you Gram, all I seem to do is cry.

Not before today have I ever felt such sorrow,
But so I am told, it gets easier with tomorrow.
Yet that's so hard to believe, losing someone so dear,
Whose voice still echoes in my mind, load and clear.

I will miss our times together, and our chats on the phone,
My heart has an emptiness, I feel sad and alone.
Then I realize you've left me truly blessed,
And that your love lives with me, although you're at rest.

Yes, the world has lost a wonderful grandmother,
A 'One of a Kind', for there is no other.
I know in my heart, that I'll see you again,
But when that day is, only God knows when.

I thank you for teaching me to care, and overcome my fears,
For your support, your love, and your kindness through the years.
And as long as I live, though you're with me no more,
I'll never forget losing you, on the 15th of January, 1994.
