COYLE - The following Obituary from the Guardian, Nov 2, 1998, pg. B8
Bernard Coyle - November 4, 1905 - November 2, 1997.
The death occurred peacefully at the Garden Home on November 2, 1997 of Bernard Coyle, Tarantum.
Barney was born in Dromore to the late Phillip and Liza (O'Connell) Coyle.
He married Margaret Hughes in 1942.
Barney worked at Callaghan's Lumber Mill and other local jobs before settling on a farm in Tarantum.
Although Barney and Margaret were never blessed with any children they opened their home to Margarets grand nephew Jim Downey.
Barney was predeceased by his wife Margaret and brother Maurice.
Left to mourn are brothers Jack and Ambrose, sisters Annie and Catherine, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral was held at St. Patrick's, Fort Augustus, on November 4, 1997.
Until we meet again may God hold you in the palm of his hand.

BERNARD - On October 31, 1997 Emmett A. Bernard of Hunter River passed away at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital at the age of 81 years.
He was born in Hunter River, March 26, 1916 to the late Lorena Graham Bernard and William Bernard.
He lived most of his life in Hunter River.
In 1956 he married Jennie Smith of New Glasgow Mills.
Emmett loved animals especially dogs and horses.
He owned a horse from the time he was fourteen.
After a few years of trucking he operated a stable of race horses.
He trained and drove horses at the Maritime Race Tracks, also in New York and Maine.
He was twice winner of The Governor's Plate, at Summerside Race Track and won the Walter Dale in Fredericton among his many Invitational victories.
As good as these horses were, however it was his own trotter "Island Kaptain" that provided Emmett and his wife Jennie with the most satisfaction.
He continued to own a hose at the time of his passing.
He enjoyed good health, his home, community and church, as well as horse racing.
In August 1995 he entered St. John Regional Hospital for surgery which was followed by a stroke which confined him to a wheel chair for his remaining years.
After times spent in the Queen Elizabeth Hospital he was able to return home where he was cared for by his wife Jennie and family.
In October 1997 it was necessary for him to enter Beach Grove Nursing Home until he had a heart attack and passed away October 31st.
He leaves to mourn, his wife Jennie, a son Albert and wife Joan, a daughter Delight and husband Norman Plant, grandsons Shane Bernard and wife Lori and Trevor Bernard and granddaughters Melissa and Meaghan Plant, a brother Jack and wife Mildred, three sisters Margaret and husband Verdun Tredenick, Sherwood, Pearle Crossman, Crapaud and Wanda and husband Allan Smith of Hunter River.
He was predeceased by brothers Willard, Raymond, Vernon and Sanford and a sister Lorena Stubbs, half-brother Robert Bernard and half sister Georgina.
On November 1st the horsemen at the Charlottetown Driving Park formed the traditional horse shoe paraded by a driverless bike, the buglar played the "Call to Post" in a moving and touching ceremony.
A large crowd attended the funeral service on November 4th at the MacLean Funeral Home. The service was conducted by Rev. Austin Jagoe assisted by Rev. Mark Buell. A tribute was given and scripture read by nephew Gary Smith. "The Last Mile of the Way" and" In the Garden" were rendered by Wendell Boyle, Fenton MacKay gave the eulogy recounting the many incidents of kindness, help and inspiration of "The Cowboy" a name given to Emmett for his skill and bravery on the track and in the stable.
Following the funeral the remains were tenderly laid to rest in Floral Hills Memorial Gardens.
Past his suffering, past his pain,
Cease to weep for tears are vain,
He who suffered is at rest,
Gone to Heaven with the blest.
CAMPBELL - Wellesley - Helen Martin Campbell, 85, died Monday, September 14, 1998 at the Avery Nursing Home in Needham after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Robert H. Campbell who died in 1996.
Born in Prince Edward Island she was the daughter of the late George and Jennie (Shaw) Martin.
Mrs. Campbell graduated from Prince of Wales College in Charlottetown and Prince Edward Island Hospital School of Nursing.
She was a private registered nurse before her retirement.
She was a member of the Brighton Avenue Baptist Church in Brighton and also a member of the Eastern Star Chapter.
She had been a resident of Wellesley since 1955.
She is survived by her children, Marion R. McKenney and Robert H. Campbell Jr. both of Natick; Donald J. Campbell of Ashland; Paul W. Campbell of Harrington, Kansas and Mary Kinsey of Cleveland; two brothers, Frederic and Martin of Ottawa and Cyrus Martin of Prince Edward Island, two sisters, Flora Sutherland and Penelope Burke both of Prince Edward Island, 21 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
She was predeceased by three sisters, Heather (Harry) Watson, Rena (Albert) Murphy and Marjorie (Sid) Hilliard.
Funeral service was held Friday at the J.S. Waterman and Sons - Waring Funeral Home, Washington St, Wellesley.
Burial was at Woodlawn Cemetery in Wellesley.
ALLISON 'Johnny' OUTHOUSE - The death occurred peacefully at Souris Hospital October 30, 1997 of Allison 'Johnny' Outhouse in his 85th year.
Johnny was born February 15, 1913 to the late Donna Ossenger and Willard Outhouse, Tiverton, Nova Scotia.
Johnny married Margaret Elizabeth Maclntyre, Souris together they had seven boys.
Left to mourn are Mike, David (Kathy), Roger (Colleen), Johnny (Debbie), Bobby (Charlene), Willard and Ronnie (Cindy).
Johnny was a veteran of World War II. Captain of his own vessel and then worked for Department of Public Works until returning in 1977.
Johnny could then be found at home relaxing with crossword puzzles, enjoying visits with his children and grandchildren.
Making daily visits to the wharf to check on the local boys and keep up on the news.
Johnny is survived by his sister Belva, brothers Basil and Bertram and 10 grandchildren he loved and enjoyed dearly.
Predeceased by sisters Utha and Leola.
The funeral mass was held November 1, 1997 at St. Mary's Parish.
Johnny was laid to rest at St. Mary's Cemetery, Souris.
What we would give to say Hello Dad in the same old way,
To hear your voice, to see your smile, to sit with you and talk awhile.
So to those who have a father, cherish him with care,
For you will never know the heartache till you see his empty chair.
Always loved and sadly missed Margaret, Boys and family.
CUDMORE - The death occurred peacefully at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital on the evening of October 17, 1997 of Warren 'Red' Cudmore in his 70th year, after a short battle with cancer.
Red was born December 16, 1927, the 8th of 12 children to the late Margaret Mills and George Cudmore of Charlottetown, PEI.
On June 11, 1947 Red married Marion Theresa Gallant of Charlottetown, and together they had 10 children: Paul, Don, Daphne, Valerie, John, Nancy, Beth, Lisa, Scott and Tara.
The family was shocked and saddened by the sudden death of daughter Nancy on September 2, 1984. On June 11, 1997 Red and Marion enjoyed the happy occasion of celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary with their family and friends at the Charlottetown Fire Hall.
Red is survived by sister Dorothy Taylor, Marion Mayne and Marge Savidant; brother Barry Cudmore; 16 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
After working many years in the dry cleaning business with his brothers, Red ventured out on his own to purchase Master Cleaners in 1977 which he and Marion ran until 1988.
Red enjoyed the daily interactions with the customers and made many friends during his years in the business.
In his free time, Red could be found relaxing at the family cottage in Meadowbank, enjoying visits with his children and grandchildren, or chatting with his friends at the 'round' table, as they called it, at the Charlottetown Fire Hall.
The largely attended funeral was held on October 20, 1997 from the Cutcliffe Funeral Home Chapel.
Red was laid to rest beside his daughter Nancy at the People's Cemetery, Charlottetown.
Think of you every day.
