WAGMAN, Sam. Peacefully at his home in Toronto, on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at the age of eighty, with his family by his side. Husband and best friend of Lydia Cytrynbaum for fifty-two loving years. Devoted father and father-in-law of Jeff, David and Bonnie, Richard and Jane. Cherished Zayde of Zachary, Madison, Dylan, Alexa, Anna, and Mabel. Son of the late Helen Grunfeld-Wagman and the late Jacob Grunfeld. Born in Borislaw, Poland in 1934, Sam survived the Holocaust by being hidden in a Catholic Nursery School basement for 22 months. Sincere gratitude to Dr. Berry and the doctors, nurses and staff of Sunnybrook Odette Cancer Centre, and to Dr. Goldman of Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. PAPERMAN, Nina (nee Masik). September 12, 1917 – October 21, 2014. Loving wife of the late Samuel Paperman, and the late John Keith Whyte. Beloved mother and mother-in-law of Robert Whyte and Stacy Sehee Whyte. Cherished grandmother of Dr. Jennifer Wacks and Dr. Ken Wacks; and proud great-grandmother of Zachary, Jacob, Matthew, Lauren and Emily – the "crew"! Nina is also survived by Sam's daughters, Elaine Paperman Woolner and Brenda Paperman Levy. Predeceased by her brothers- and sisters-in-law, Abe and Goldie Paperman, Max and Jeannie Paperman, Sally Drymer, Bella Slovsky, Annie Miller, and Sophie Payne. We were honored to have known and loved such a cultured, artistic and vibrant woman. Her strength and determination were unique, while her energy was unlimited. We were proud to call her our Mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. May she now eternally rest with the knowledge of how special she was to us.
