French, Brian

Suddenly at home in Sawyerville, Que on Sunday March 29, 2009 at the age of 40 years. Brian Frederick French, beloved son of Elizabeth Woods and the late Frederick French. Father of Bret, Clay, Alicia and the late Brittany and dear brother of Sharon (Lee Brazel) and Richard. Loving uncle of Samantha and Shawn. Brian also leaves to mourn his aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 15 Station St. Sawyerville, QC 819-564-1750 where friends may visit on Friday April 3, 2009 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and on Saturday from 1 to 2 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Saturday April 4, 2009 at 2 PM with Rev Barbara Willard officiating. Interment will take place in the East Clifton Cemetery at a later date.

Farley, Earle (Swede)

Passed away suddenly at the C.S.S.S.M. on Saturday, March 8, 2008, at the age of 95. Beloved husband of the late Dorean St-Thomas and special friend of the late Helene Mc.Veay. Son of the late Clifford Farley and the late Pearl Blodgett. Cherished father of; Diane French, of Windsor Ontario and Ronald (Carmen) of Stanstead.; loving grandfather of; Kimberly Watters (Jeffrey), and Karen MacPherson (Donald) of Windsor Ontario, Kelly Terprestra (Marcel), Ottawa Ontario, Kerri-Lee Jackson (Christopher), Manitouwadge Ontario, Eric Farley, Knowlton, and Krista St-Pierre (Stephan) of Ogden; Earle will also be sadly missed by his great-grandchildren: Kaitlyn, Jacquelyn, Meghan, Natalie, Aidan, Adam, Noah, Max, Sam, Joshua, Madison, MacKenzie, Ava, Danika, and Jacob, along with his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Maxwell and Marg St-Thomas of Florida, his son-in-law Russell French of Oshawa Ontario, other relatives and many friends. He was predeceased by his brother-in-law and sister-in-law Earle and Ruby St- Thomas of Scarborough Ontario. Earle was a graduate of Bugbee Business School (Stanstead College), a retired employee of Butterfield Litton Industries, a past member of the Stanstead Legion Branch #5, and the 74th Battery, 27 Field Regiment, Royal Canadian Artillery. Swede was a well loved father and grandfather and an avid outdoorsman, sportsman, and a past football player for the Stanstead College, the Toronto Balmy Beach, and the Oshawa Blue Devils. A graveside service will take place in Malvern Cemetery in the spring. As memorial tributes, donations made to a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Frank, Elizabeth

Passed away peacefully at her home in Kingsbury, QC on Sunday November 18th, 2007 following a lengthy illness, at the age of 68. Beloved daughter of the late Guy and the late Edna Frank. Dear sister of Robert Frank (Daphne), Joan Frank, and Carolyn MacDonald. Dear aunt of Anne, Heather (Andre Poirier), Cathy (Will Dutka), John, David, Vicki-Lynne and Jeffrey. Liz also leaves to mourn her great nieces and nephews, many other relatives and friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 295 Principale S., Richmond, (819) 826-2502 where friends may visit on Tuesday November 20th from 7 to 9 PM and on Wednesday from 10 to 11:00AM. Funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Wednesday at 11:00AM with Mr. Ellis Clark officiating. Interment will take place in the Melbourne Ridge Cemetery. Memorial tributes may be made to the charity of your choice and will be greatly appreciated by the family.

Friendship, Donald

Peacefully at the St-Vincent de Paul Rest Home, Sherbrooke, QC, on Thursday, November 1st 2007, at the age of 85. Donald Thomas Friendship is survived by his children Carol-Ann, Allan (Colleen), Keith (Carol) and Arlene (Brian Bedard). Cherished grandfather of 8 grandchildren and 1 great-granchild. Donald was a Veteran of WWll, 22nd Canadian Armoured Division. In respect of Donald's wishes, cremation was held. Family and friends may call at the Greenridge Baptist Church, 47 Queen St. South Sherbrooke (Lennoxville borough) on Friday, November 16th 2007 from 1:30 to 2:30PM, followed by the funeral service at 2:30PM. Pastor Steven Black officiating. Interment in the Reedsville Cemetery, North Hatley, QC. As memorial tributes, donations to the Townships Alzheimer's Society, 375 Argyll, Norton Building, Suite 0725, Sherbrooke, QC J1J 3H5 or to the I.U.G.S. Vaudry Cochrane, Julia

In her 89th year, on Thursday, January 29, 2015, went peacefully to be with her Lord at Grace Christian Home, following a brief illness. She was predeceased by her husband John, and is survived by her niece Janice (Robert Carey), and nephews John (Wendy Cowan), Richard (Wendy Paulette) and Craig, as well as great-nieces Mary, Hannah, and Eleanor, and great-nephews Paul, Philip, James, Eric and Edward. She was also predeceased by her brother Fred and sister-in-law Catherine. Visitation will be Monday, Feb. 2, from 7-9 p.m. at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St., (Lennoxville) Sherbrooke, 819-564-1750, and an hour before the funeral service, which will be held on Tuesday, Feb. 3, at 2 p.m. at Hope Community Church, 102 Queen St., (Lennoxville) Sherbrooke. Spring interment at Huntingville Cemetery. Donations made to the Dr. W.J. Klinck Foundation c/o Massawippi Christian Retirement Homes, 1501 rue Campbell, Sherbrooke, QC J1M 0C1 would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Valliere Hayward, Violet

Passed away peacefully at the Connaught Home, North Hatley, QC on Wednesday, January 21st 2015 at the age of 88. Violet Hope Vallière, beloved wife of the late Walter George Hayward, and dear mother of Sandra Lee (Wayne), Dwight Delbert (Helen), Cheryle Gail (Jim), Laurel Darlene (Gérard) and the late Wade Bradley. Violet was the cherished grandmother of 11 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. At her request, no visitation and a private interment will be held in the spring.

Vintinner Bennett, Lorna

Of Bishopton, passed away at La Maison Aube-Lumière on September 30, 2014 at the age of 83. Daugther of the late Collins Vintinner and the late Minnie Boyce. Beloved wife of the late Robert Bennett and mother of Lynn Grapes (Bruce), Rick Bennett (Carol) and Ellen Bennett. Loving Nan to five grandchildren : Shawn Bennett (Kristin), Bradley Grapes, Corey Grapes, Erin Mazzoni (Peter), and Kristen Lacroix (Christopher); and to eleven great-grandchildren : Kaylee Bennett, Bryan, Benjamin and Makayla Grapes, Preston Grapes, Sophia and Cohen Mazzoni and Ethan, Riley, Cidnee and Brayden Lacroix. Sister of Eileen Lowe (late Clifford) and the late Phil Vintinner (late Elsie Gagné). Survived by sisters-in-law: Alice Bennett, Lewella Bailey and Violet Main (Stuart) and step-sister Betty Lou Mackenzie. She also leaves to mourn many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Visitation will take place at the Bishopton United Church on Saturday, October 11, 2014 from 12:30 to 2:00, followed immediately by the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name to La Maison Aube-Lumière, 3071, 12th Avenue North, Sherbrooke, QC, J1H 5H3, would be appreciated.

Johnston, Donald

Donald died on Sept.3, 2012, at The Wales Home. He was born Feb. 25, 1931, in Fitch Bay, QC, son of the late Rose Whitehead and the late Andrew Johnston. He is survived by his wife Sandra Truax and his sisters Dolly and Barbara. He is predeceased by his sister Kathleen in 1972.Donald’s children: Laura and her husband Aubrey MacDougall and their children Peter and partner Olivia, Patrick, Caitlin, Gillian and husband Tyler and daughter Roslyn (born 2 hours before Don died), and Thomas; Andy and wife Hilary and children Madeline and Alexander; MaryBeth and husband James and their children Isabelle and partner Bret, Jasmine, Emma, Logan, Jacob and Colin; Christopher and partner Marie-Lyne and his children Steven and partner Kathleen, Cynthia and daughter Élyanna, Matthew and Benjamin, will all miss him very much. He is survived by the mother of his children Marilyn Thompson and her husband Richard Fortier. He also leaves his stepchildren Darlene and husband Tony, Michael and David. Among his many cousins, nieces and nephews, Hazel and Bob were special to him. Donald has been in poor health for several years and moved to The Wales Home in July. He was on Norton 3 and was cared for by the fantastic women and men who genuinely cared for him. The family will be at Cass Funeral Home, 295 Principal, S, Richmond, QC, on Sunday September 9th from 7 to 9 PM, and on Monday from 1 to 2 PM to receive family and friends. The service will be held at the Funeral Home on Monday September 10th at 2:00 PM, followed by the interment in St-Andrews cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations to The Kidney Foundation, CP 22011, Succ. Quatres Saisons, Sherbrooke, QC J1E 4B4, would be appreciated

Judge, Gary

On July 21, 2012 at the CHUS Hôtel-Dieu, after a long and courageous battle against cancer, it is with great sadness we annouce the death of Gary Judge at age 60. Son of the late Bernard Judge and the late May Elger; brother of the late Roger Judge. He is survived by his loving wife and friend of 34 years Beverley Knowles. Dear dad to Christina (Mike Patrick) and proud grandpa to Breanna and Joshua Patrick. Gary is survived by his brothers Robert and Dale, and sister Shirley (Wayne Batley) and his half-sister Serena (late Gilbert Wintle). Brother-in-law to Debra (late Fred Johnston), James (Jocelyn Lancaster) and Timothy Knowles. Also left to mourn his death are many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and their families. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St.. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville) where friends may visit on Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm and on Monday, July 30th at Trenholm United Church one hour prior to the funeral service which will take place at 2 pm. Rev. Reginald Jennings officiating. Interment will take place in the Trenholm cemetery following the service. The family would like to extend thanks to the staff of the CHUS Hôtel-Dieu, 4th floor special care unit and the CLSC (Cookshire) nurses for the wonderful care provided to Gary. Also a very special thank-you to Dr. Soulard and his staff for all their help and care..In lieu of flowers, donations to be made in his memory to the Pope Memorial Elementary School, 523 Stoke St. Bury, QC J0B 1J0 would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Jondreville, Douglas

Jondreville, Douglas Charles: Born September 21, 1916. He passed away at the C.H.U.S. Hotel Dieu on June 22, 2012. Beloved husband of Ethel Frame and cherished father of : Donald (JoAnn Varner), Lynn, Ann (the late Jim Stowers), and Sue (Raymond Côté); Loving grandfather of : Kristen and Michael Jondreville, Sean, Missy and Kristy Stowers, Stephanie and Robert Côté); Douglas will also be sadly missed by his 13 great- grandchildren as well as other relatives and friends. There will be visitation at the Lennoxville United church on Wednesday, June 27, from 1:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m., followed by a celebration of his life with Reverend James Potter officiating. Interment will take place in the Windsor Protestant Cemetery.

PALMER, Ellean "Johnnie", nee Johnson (RN)

It is with saddened hearts that the Palmer family announces the peaceful passing of our mother, Ellean "Johnnie" Palmer, on January 18, 2012 at the age of 94 at the Wales Home. A loving wife of the late Frederick Palmer and dear mother of Richard "Dick" (Louise Hoy) and Peter (Mary Ellen Moulton), she was predeceased by her parents Ada Taylor Vancour and Braman Johnson, and her brothers, Harold, Albert, George and Leonard Johnson. She will be dearly missed by her grandchildren Karla (Mike McGrath), Jason (Sandra Law), Marlyn (Glen), and Stephanie (Doug) and her great grandchildren, Kira, Kalen and Poppy McGrath, Henry Palmer, Holly and Amber. Over a long and beautiful life, Johnnie was a devoted wife, Mom, "Nanny" and a great friend to many. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 21, 2012 at 2 pm at the Cass Funeral Home, 3006 College St. Sherbrooke (Lennoxville). The family will be at the funeral home one hour prior to the service to receive condoleances from family and friends. Rev. Reg Jennings officiating. Interment in the Elmwood Cemetery. As an expression of sympathy, donations to the Wales Home Foundation in memory of Johnnie would be appreciated.
