Borden Allan Ross
1920 – 2012

Borden Ross died at CHUS-Hotel Dieu, Sherbrooke, on September 8, 2012 in his 92nd year. Predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Alice Ross (September 18, 2004). He was the loving father of The Venerable Lynn Ross, wife Judy Henderson and The Venerable Dean Ross, wife Gene Sparkes; grandfather to Heather (Harold Grob) and Timothy, Shannon and Allison as well as great grandfather to Nicholas and Eliza Grob. He is mourned by his brother Willard (late Joyce Garton), as well as nieces, nephews, and many friends. Predeceased by his sisters and brothers-in law Eldora and Howard Glendillon, Eileen and Irving Richards; also sister-in-law Charlotte and Harry Haddon. Visitation on Friday, September 14, from 2 to 4 p.m. and7 to 9 p.m. at Church of the Advent, 473 Bowen South, Sherbrooke J1G 2C8. The funeral will be held on Saturday, September 15 at 2 p.m.; the family will be present one hour prior to the funeral As memorial gifts, donations may be made to Mental Health Estrie, 256 Queen, Office 900, Sherbrooke QC J1M 1K7, or Church of The Advent c/o 44 Gordon-Bown, Sherbrooke QC J1M 1C3.

Reid, Richard

Passed suddenly at his home in Plessisville QC on Friday May 25th 2012, Ricky Reid at the age of 48. Dear father of Sarah and Kevin Reid, and Son of the late Roy and the late Grace Reid. Dear brother of Linda (Jos), Judy, the late James, and Peter (Lisette). Ricky also leaves to mourn, his nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many friends. A graveside service will be held in the Trenholm Cemetery, on Saturday June 16th at 11:00 AM with the Rev. Reginald Jennings officiating. Donations to The Trenholm United Church Building fund, c\o Lillian Blanchette, 36 Ave. de Melbourne N., Richmond, QC J0B 2H0 would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Rouleau, Claude

Passed away after a courageous battle in the presence of his loving family at the C.S.S.S / Memphremagog on March 31, 2012, at the age of sixty-five. Cherished husband of Rollande Ladouceur and adoring father of: Guy (Linda), Gilles (Julie), Manon (Mark) and Gaetan (Melissa); Precious grandfather of ten beautiful grandchildren, and dear brother of Emile, Louis (Marie-Claire), Noella (Richard), Denise (Roland), Jocelyn (Maurice) and the late Francois. Claude will also be sadly missed by his brothers and sister-in-law as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, uncles, aunts, other relatives and many friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead, 819-876-5213 where friends may visit on Sunday, April 8, 2012, from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., also on Monday, April 9, from 9:00 a.m. to 10:45 a.m., followed by a funeral service in the Sacred Heart Church at 11:00 a.m.. In lieu of flowers, donations made to the Fondations du CHUS Laboratoire du Dr. David Fortin, 3001 12ieme Ave. Nord, Sherbrooke, QC. J1H 5N4, would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Rollins Smith, Hattie

Hattie Melba Rollins Smith of Stanstead QC., formerly of Granby QC., passed away on Friday, March 30, 2012, in the presence of her loving family and caregivers. Precious wife of the late Leonard E. Smith. Hattie was first and foremost a loving daughter and sister. Adoring mother of Garth L. Smith (Joyce) Burlington Ontario and Kathryn D.Aiken (Alan) Newport Vermont. She was an aunt, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was a long time member of the Granby United Church and of the Rebekah Assembly where Hattie held several honourable positions. A talented and intelligent woman. Hattie will be remembered best for her wit, spunk and ageless outlook on life. A Celebration of her Life will be held on May 19, 2012 at 11a.m.. in the United Church in Newport Vermont.

Kent, Victoria

We regret the passing of our beloved daughter Vickie Kent at the CHUS Fleurimont, on Friday, October 8, 2010 at the age of 40 years. Beloved daughter of Rodney and Brenda Kent and best friend of Pascal Letellier and loving mother of Anthony. Vickie will be sadly missed by her brothers Randy (Melanie Rice and their children Shay, Brianna and Ashton; Chris and her sister Christina (Robert Frappied), her beloved niece Isabella.., her grandmother Gladys Sharman and her special Nanny Margaret Cote as well as many friends. A private family burial will be held at a later date. Donations to the Quebec Breast Cancer Foundation, 1155, René-Levesque Blvd West, bureau 1003, Montreal, Quebec H3B 2J2 or to the S. P. A. De L'Estrie, 1139 Queen Blvd North, Sherbrooke, Quebec J1H 5H1 would be appreciated.

Rice, Thomas Herbert

Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, March 20, 2012 at the age of 91 years.
He was a resident at the Connaught Home, North Hatley, QC. He was the loving Husband of 63 years of Dorthy Rice, deceased, and loving and caring father to three sons, Jeffery[ Barbara] of Lake St. Louis Missouri, Michael [Jona] of Norman, Oklahoma and Brian of Norman Oklahoma. The cherished grandfather to Debbie and Tony [Jeff & Barbara] and Erin & Keri [Mike & Jona] and great grand father to Tyler Ferguson [Debbie & Tim Ferguson], Riley Pointer, Kale and Kamden Daugherty [Erin & Tyson Daugherty] and Arianna, Anaya and Jopslin Rice [Cindy & Tony Rice]. Tom is survived by his caring sisters, Francis Rice of Huntingdon, QC and Emily Smerdon of Sherbrooke, QC, and brother,
Fred Rice of Ottawa, ON, many nieces and nephews, othe friends who’s lives he touched and was touched by. In lieu of flowers, a donation to the W. J. Klink Foundation c/o Connaught Home, 77Main St., North Hatley, QC, J0B 2C0 would be appreciated by the family. Internment of his ashes will be at the Hatley United Church cemetery at a time to be announced.

Kerr, Thérèse "Terry"

Passed away peacefully at La Domaine Sapiniere East Angus, on Sunday February 27th, 2011 at the age of 81. Wife of the late William Kerr, and dear mother of the late France, the late Michael, Carole (Carl Vallieres), Kevin and Nancy (Dwight Garfat). Terry also leaves to mourn her 13 grandchildren, her 10 great grandchildren, her brothers and sisters, Marcel, Clement, Pauline, Yvette and Hugette along with her sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, many nieces, nephews and friends. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 50 Craig St., Cookshire, where friends may visit on Wednesday March 2nd from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm, and on Thursday from 1 to 2 PM. A funeral mass will be held in the St-Camille Catholic Church on Thursday Mach 3rd at 2 PM. Interment in St-Camille Cemetery at a later date.

Kydd Patterson, Nancy

Passed away peacefully at the Foyer Richmond on Thursday February 10th, 2011, Nancy Kydd at the age of 67. Loving wife of Donald Patterson, and dear sister of Wayne (Lucienne), Betty (Alvin Fontaine), Brian (Linda), the late Sharon, Katherine (Claude Lacroix), and Mark (Johanne). Nancy also leaves to mourn, her many nieces, nephews and dear friends. Resting at St-Anne's Anglican Church, 171 Principale S., Richmond, where friends may visit on Saturday February 19th from 1:30 to 2:00pm, followed by the funeral service at 2:00 with Rev. Wanda Dillabough officiating. Interment in St-Anne’s Cemetery at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to The Alzheimer’s Society, 375 Argyll St., édifice Norton, Local 0625, Sherbrooke, QC J1J 3H5 or to the Parkinson Society Quebec, 1470-550 Sherbrooke St. West, tour Ouest, Montreal, QC H3A 1B9, and would be greatly appreciated by the family.

Roy, Gaetan

Gaetan Roy : 1933-2012 Passed away at the CHUS Fleurimont on Thursday, March 15, 2012 at the age of 78. Cherished husband of the late Eva Ruth Bennett who passed away in May, 2008. Son of the late Albert Roy and Hermeline Dufresne. He will be sadly missed by his daughter Lorraine Nadeau and son David; his grandchildren : Chuck, Amanda, Jayline Cody, and Brandon; his sister Rita Roy Pichette and her sons Pierre (Elsa), Jacques (Celine), and Michel (Diane) and their children along with his dear friend Madeleine Enright. He also leaves to mourn his step-daughter Marilyn Bennett and her children Randy, Steven, Peter, Michael (Natasha), two great-grandchildren Sophia and Alexandra Magon. Gaetan also leaves to mourn his family Lenna Drobner, Ivy Monty, Ernie Bennett (Rejeanne) and their children as well as many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Gaetan was a lifetime resident of the Eastern Townships and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 128, and NAFCA Hands Across the Border Chapter 156. For the past 32 years he resided in and supported the community of Ayer’s Cliff. A generous and helping man, he will be missed by all his friends and neighbors. Family and friends are invited to a Committal Service of his ashes on Saturday April, 28, 2012, at 2:00 p.m. at Reedsville cemetery North Hatley lead by Reverend Barbara Wintle As a tribute to his memory, donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 3330 King St. West, Bureau 130, Sherbrooke, QC. Sisco Webb, Sandra

Passed away in the presence of her loving family at the CHUS Fleurimont on Wednesday, June 1, 2011, at the age of 67. Cherished wife of Laurie and adoring mother of Laureen (David Farrow). Loving sister of Pat, Brenda and Cathie (Pascal). Sandra will also be sadly missed by her nieces Amy, Meaghan, and Sabrina, and her nephew Tyler, as well as other relatives and many friends. A graveside service will be held in Crystal Lake Cemetery on Saturday, June 4, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. with Reverend Barbara Wintle officiating. The family wishes to express their most sincere thanks to the staff of the 6th and 7th floors at the CHUS Fleurimont for the kindness and wonderful care given to Sandra. Smiley, George

At Lakeridge Health Oshawa in Ontario on May 22 after a short illness. George was in his 90th year. Son of the late Goldwyn Smiley of Lennoxville, Quebec and Florence Allison of Bury, Quebec. Dear brother of the late Augustus Smiley (Marie), Eva Price (Lloyd) and Patricia Manson (Melvin). Loving husband of the late Beverley Smiley (nee Harling) of Bishopton, Quebec, and dear father of Karen Wall. He will be sadly missed by his son-in-law David Wall and his grandchildren Devon and Brayden Wall who he cherished. George will also be missed by many family and friends from across Canada and especially by his furry friend, Taffy, who he thought so much of. George will be resting at Cass Funeral Home in Lennoxville, Quebec and visitation will be on Thursday, May 26 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. A funeral service will be held on May 27 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home and burial will take place at 3:00 p.m. at Lakeside Cemetery in Bishopton. As a tribute to his memory flowers or donations to the Poppy Fund (poppyfund.ca) would be appreciated by his family.

Olsson, John

Peacefully at the Northumberland Hills (Palliative Care Unit), Cobourg, ON., on Wednesday, March 12th 2008, with his family at his side, at the age of 65 years, Orlay John Olsson beloved son of Arlene Winslow and the late Orlay Olsson. Dear father of Tara (Cory Pandoffs) and Johnna (Gary Braid). Johnnie was the cherished grandfather of Zack. He is survived by his brothers and sisters Pat (Jim Gutscher) Karen (Collin Laberee), Bruce (Gail Pope) and Ricky (Jenny Davis) and also by many nieces, nephews and friends.
Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 15 Station St., Sawyerville QC, 819-564-1750 , where friends may call on Saturday March 22nd, 2008 from 2 to 4pm and 7 to 9pm. A graveside service will be held at the Eaton Cemetery at a later date. As memorial tributes, donations to the Eaton Cemetery Fund, c/o Nadia Boutin, 255 Wheeler Rd. Cookshire, QC J0B 1M0 or to the Frontier Animal Society, 1 Bigelow St, Stanstead, QC J0B 3E5, would be gratefully acknowledged by the family.
