Anne Elizabeth Christie, beloved wife of the late Douglas Gerrish, and dear mother of Alan (Marcella), Lee (Diane), and Neil (Marian). Loving grandma of Haley, Karsen and Caitlyn. Passed away peacefully at the Connaught Home, North Hatley QC, where she was cared for the last few months, on Saturday March 9th 2013. Guerita was pre-deceased by her husband Newton MacLeod in 1995. At her request, there will be no visitation, and the interment of her ashes will be held at a later date. Passed away at the CHUS Fleurimont, Sherbrooke QC, on Wednesday February 27th 2013 at the age of 72. Daughter of the late Renovia (Toots) and the late Gerard Cayer. Sister of Dawn (Clement Viens), and Danna (Bob Boyer) Cayer, and Sonny (Randi) and Hudson (Patricia) Vallieres and was predeceased by her brother D’Arcy Cayer. Dayle also leaves to mourn her aunt Vivian (Derrill Henderson), along with many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. A funeral service will be held at the Windsor Funeral Home, 310 St-Georges, Windsor, QC, on Saturday March 9th at 1:30 PM. After a couragous battle with cancer, she has gone to be with her Lord, peacefully at the Domaine de la Sapiniere, East Angus, on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 in her 78th year. Helen Jean Cornish, beloved wife of the late Hilton Gillespie, dear mother of Marie Claude Belanger, Mary (Craig McBurney) and Robert (Irma Weins) and cherished grandmother of Meghann Sylvester (Danny Nadeau), Olivia Sylvester (Jonnie Little), Nathan Sylvester (Brandy Nielsen), Shawna Sylvester (Clinton Mills), Ethan and Caleb Gillespie. Helen leaves to mourn her great grandchildren Benjamin Nadeau, Zachary and Joseph Little, Rylee Sylvester and Justice (George) Mills. She also leaves to mourn her brother George Cornish (Rejeanne). Edgar Coates beloved husband of Thelma Walker and loving father of Gene (Donna Wood), Dale (Elaine Mackenzie)) Hank, Lawrence (Carmen Mackenzie), Patricia (Leo Healey), Mona (Mike Horvath), Della (Jean Mason), and Wyatt. Edgar was the cherished grandfather of eighteen grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his brother Russell, his sisters Lila Girouard, Thelma Turnbull, and Inez Dutton, many nieces, nephews, and many friends. Passed away peacefully at La Maison Aube Lumière, on Friday January 25th 2013, Andrew Carson at the age of 44. Loving companion of Kerry Watson, and beloved father of Hannah. Andrew also leaves to mourn, his mother Nicole Choinière Carson, his sister Caroline (Stan Kasta and their daughter Olivia), and his father-in-law Gordon Watson (the late Linda Simpson). Also left to mourn are his brothers-in-law Jason (Sophie Thibault and their children Shelby and Tyler), and Mike, his aunts, Pauline (Réjean), Gisèle, Louise (Richard) and his uncle Francois (Johanne) along with many dear friends. A celebration of Andrew’s life will be held at St-Patrick’s Catholic Church, Gordon St., Sherbrooke, on Saturday February 2nd at 11:00 AM. Mackie, George
Passed away suddenly at his home in Perth Ontario on Saturday, November 1st, 2008, at the age of 77 years. Beloved husband of the late Minnie Hannah Rycroft and cherished father of Gladys (Mike Ryall), and George Jr. (Tuffy) both of Perth, Michael of Stanstead and the late Deborah Mackie. Loving grandfather of: Anthony (Charlene) and Matthew Rediker, Kandy, David, , Amber Makie, Gail and Tammy Chase; great-grandfather of Christian Rediker. George will also be sadly missed by his brother James (Shirley) of LaSalle, QC, along with his brother-in-law Norman Laurent, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Pre-deceased by his sister Mary Jane McKellar. He was the son of the late James and Marie-Ange (Roy) Mackie. George loved to go for drives and watch sports on television. He enjoyed feeding the birds and squirrels and all other animals that he came in contact with. George always had a smile on his face and kind words for anyone. We are truly blessed for having him in our lives. Macfarlane Swan, Grace
Grace Hellen Macfarlane, beloved wife of Andrew Munro Swan, passed away peacefully at the Magog Hospital on Wednesday October 22, 2008 at the age of 90. She is survived by two of her children Marjorie Thomson (Ross) of Kemble, Ontario and Robert Swan (Zelia) of Toronto, Ontario. She was predeceased by her second son the late Gordon Swan (Eva) of Ottawa, Ontario. Cherished grandmother of eight grandchildren; Matthew (Emily), Andy, Rachel; Josh (Trish), Jordy, Christie; Katy (Rafal), Michael. She is survived by her sister Andrina Carlton and her brother Blakely Macfarlane (Betty). She was predeceased by her older brother Wallace Macfarlane.Grace was born in Hamilton, Ontario on September 12, 1918, the elder daughter of Dr. Percy Macfarlane and Andrina Paterson. She was educated in schools in Hamilton and graduated from McMaster University with a degree in Social Science. She then went to the University of Toronto where she qualified as an Occupational Therapist. Grace and Andy where married in 1943 coincidentally with his enlistment in the RCNVR. Following WWII, Grace lived in Toronto, Ontario, then for six years in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and finally, in Montreal, Sherbrooke and North Hatley, Quebec. Grace was an active amateur artist and throughout her life engaged in sports. Her first love was tennis but she also enjoyed skiing, curling, swimming, square dancing and golf. She enjoyed rambles in the woods, watching birds and animals, and was always a lover of dogs. She had many tales to tell of the sights and sounds experienced during her many trips to faraway places. She will be sorely missed. Visitation at the PLYMOUTH -TRINITY CHURCH, 380 Dufferin Street, Sherbrooke from 1 to 2 PM followed by the funeral service at 2 PM on October 30, 2008.
