Julien Gilbert, Pauline

Passed away peacefully at the CHSLD in Magog on February 25, 2015, at the age of 89. Cherished wife of the late Camille Gilbert and loving mother of Janie (Leslie Webster). Dear sister of Irene (the late Ross Royea) and Murray (Gladys). She will also be sadly missed by many nieces, nephews, and many friends. There will be visitation in the presence of the urn on Friday, March 6, 2015 at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead from 7:00 to 9:00 p m., also on Saturday, March 7, 2015 at 1:00 pm followed by the service at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home, with Reverend Barbara Wintle and Reverend Lise Kuizminska officiating. As a tribute to her memory, donations made to the Frontier Animal Society, P.O. 2505. Stanstead, QC. JOB 1E0 woud be greatly appreciated by the family.

Johnston, William John
(1927 - 2014)

Passed away peacefully, with family by his side, at the Wales Home in Richmond, on Saturday March 15th 2014, William ‘Bill’ Johnston, formerly of Verdun QC, at the age of 86. Loving husband of the late Marion Osborn and dear father of David (Nancy Berge) and Peter (Darlene Stevens). Beloved grandfather of Ashley (Phil) and Jordan (Danielle). Bill also leaves to mourn, his sister Joy Moore, his brother-in-law Austin Osborn and sister-in-law Marjorie Osborn along with his nieces, nephews, many relatives and dear friends. A graveside service will be held in the Trenholm Cemetery in the spring. The family would like to extend a heartfelt ‘Thank you’ to the staff of the Wales Home for the wonderful care they provided. Donations to the Wales Home Foundation, 506 Rte 243N, Richmond, QC J0B 2H0 would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to the Cass Funeral Home, Richmond.

Johnston Rodgers, Lorah

Passed away peacefully at Fairvern Nursing Home in Huntsville, Ontario on December 19, 2013 at the age of 70. Lorah leaves behind her husband John of Sprucedale, Ontario; her brother James (Kristine) Johnston of Orillia, Ontario; her nephew, Tim (Kelly) Johnston of Grande Prairie, Alberta – with children Tyler and Taryn; niece Karen Waite (Shane Steele) of Orillia – with children Kathryn and Jack; niece Mara (Stefan) Wingrove of Orillia – with daughters Lauryn and Alyssa; very special friend Shirley “P” (Glenn) Boon of Huntsville; sister-in-law Gail Rodgers (Sue Hames) of Huntsville; sister-in-law Joan (Bill) Haynes of Dundalk, Ontario; nephew Bill Jr. (Doneese) Haynes of Shelburne, Ontario – with daughters Vanessa and Amanda; niece Wendy Farley of Owen Sound, Ontario – with daughter Tiffany. Born on December 1, 1943 to the late Arthur and Alice (Bacon) Johnston, Lorah was raised on the family dairy farm in South Durham, Quebec, with her brother, Jimmie James Arthur. Lorah was a very good student throughout high school in Richmond, QC, where she also was in the Glee Club and the fashion shows. Lorah loved to play the piano and was one of the church organists at St. James Anglican Church in South Durham. Lorah was in the nursing program at Royal Victoria Hospital (McGill University) in Montreal, but had to abandon her studies for health reasons three months prior to becoming a registered nurse. On December 4, 1971 she married Norman Gentleman, to whom she was married for five years. Lorah married John Rodgers in Orillia on May 19, 1979. While living in Brampton, Ontario, Lorah worked as a nurse’s aide at Peel Manor until September 1988, when they moved to Huntsville. Lorah worked on the front desk at Grandview Resort, in Huntsville, until she returned to the health care field. While working as a Red Cross Homemaker she took the PSW (Personal Support Worker) course in 1998, passing with Honours. Lorah gave her clients the gentle care that endeared her to them, often extending her hours into her own time just to make sure that they really were okay before leaving their homes. Lorah was a nature lover personified. She and John enjoyed hiking, canoeing, camping, visiting with friends and taking road trips around Ontario. Other interests that Lorah had were practicing Therapeutic Touch, reading, music, flower gardening, collecting meaningful stones, and taking care of Mother Earth. Special thanks to staff for the kind gentle care they gave Lorah at Fairvern Nursing Home, where she spent the last 2½ years of her life journey living with Alzheimer’s disease. Lorah has “gone home” to be with the angels. Lorah will be remembered for her generous love, her infectious smile, her gentle spirit and her awesome wonder of the world around her. If desired, memorial donations to The Alzheimer’s Society or St. James Anglican Cemetery Fund would be appreciated by the family. A Memorial Service was held at Trinity United Church, Huntsville, ON on Wednesday, January 15th, 2014. A graveside service will be held at St. James Anglican Cemetery in South Durham, QC on May 10, 2014 at 1:00 p.m.. A time of fellowship will follow at the Salle des Loisirs in South Durham

Jolicoeur, Louise

Passed away at the Maison Aube-Lumière, Friday, December 6, 2013 at the age of 58 years, Louise Jolicoeur, daughter of the late Edmond Jolicoeur and the late Andrée Bertrand. Louise leaves to mourn her beloved daughter Sarah Jolicoeur- Hull, her brothers Pierre, Paul (Danièle Masse), Michel, Guy and her sister Marie (François Sauvé). She also leaves to mourn the father of her daughter Barry Hull, her step children Samantha Hull (Manuel Ferrarini) and Richard Hull (Kally Hudson), her sisterin- law and friend Pat Henning (Mike Henning) as well as her nephews Mathieu, Félix, Jean-Philippe, Jean-François and many relatives and friends. Resting at the Maison Funéraire des Cantons, 951 Haut-Bois, Sherbrooke (Rock Forest), where friends may call on Saturday, December 14, 2013 from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Followed by the funeral service at the Ste-Elizabeth Church, 3115 Capelton, North Hatley at 11:30 a.m. The family would like to thank Dr. Dominique Mercier and Dr. Agnès Desrochers for being by her side with kindness and understanding. We would also like to thank La Maison Aube-Lumière and the staff and those who gave their time with extreme devotion. WALKER, Howard (1927-2014) Passed away peacefully at CHUS Hôtel-Dieu on August 15, 2014 at the age of 87 years. Beloved husband of Michaelene Bridges and the Late Catherine Morrison. Beloved father of Norman (Phyllis) and Iain (Debbie). Beloved Grandfather of Shane (Annie), Angie (André) and Cheryl (Craig). Great grandfather of Emilye, Lilianna, Sierra, Makayla, Britney, Alysha, Alex, Savannah, Mackenzie and Caaden. Visitation will take place at Cass Funeral Home (3006 College st Sherbrooke (Lennoxville)) on Tuesday, August 19, 2014 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday August 20, 2014 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.. Funeral service will be held on Wednesday, August 20 at 2 p.m. in funeral home chapel. Interment at Malvern Cemetery. In lieu of flower, donation to Heart and Stoke Foundation, 100-2630, King West st, Sherbrooke, QC, J1j 2H1 will be appreciate by the family.

Jondreville, Donald

Donald Charles Jondreville passed away on Sept. 17, 2015 at the age of 71. Son of the late Douglas Jondreville and late Ethel (Frame). A dedicated husband, caring father and loving grandfather. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. He leaves to mourn his wife Joanne (Varner), his children: Michael (Andrea Barrie) and Kristen (Nick Peters), his five grandchildren: Olivia, Logan, Nathan, Lilli and Noah, his brother Lynn and his sisters Sue (Raymond Côté) and Ann (the late Jim Stowers). Visitation will take place from 12:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at Cookshire United Church on Wednesday, Sept. 23, 2015. A funeral service will take place following the visitation at 2:00 p.m. A private family burial will be held at the Windsor Protestant Cemetery. In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Ronald Francis Jenne, former businessman (Beckwith-Bemis) and avid sportsman and outdoorsman., passed away at the Hôtel-Dieu on July 3, 2015. Son of the late Llewellyn and Margaret (Dyer) Jenne and brother of Ross (Judy) and the late Frank (Lina). Husband of the late Dorothy Pearce and the late Gabrielle Lavarière. He leaves to mourn his beloved step-children Gregory (Linda), Stephen and Jeffrey (Linda) Tribble; grandchildren Megan, Lindsay, Trevor, Matthew, Jennifer and Timothy; as well as the Jenne and Lavarière families. Visitation will take place at Cass Funeral Home in Lennoxville on Tuesday, July 7, 2015 between 6pm and 9pm. A private graveside service will be held in Malvern Cemetery at a later date. Passed away at the IUGS Pavillon Youville, Sherbrooke, QC, on Saturday, November 5, 2011 at the age of 82. Beloved husband of Gisèle Chassé and dear father of Micheline, Claude (Debbie Talbot) and Daniel (Sandy Garde). Cherished grandfather of Michelle and Joshua Galipeau, Kristen and Mike Malo, Lauren and Paul Robichaud, Jenna and Josh Deschamps, Amanda and Eric Vantassel, Eric and Kate Seeley and Adams St-Germain and great grandfather also to Addisson Galipeau and Morgan Malo. He will be sadly missed by his brothers, sister, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews and friends. Passed away peacefully at Aube-Lumière, Sherbrooke on Thursday September 22, 2011, at the age of 65. Geoffrey Smith beloved husband of the late Gloria Ross of 45 years. Dear father of Lisa (Ken), Cindy (Martin) and Judy (Grant), grandfather to Ashley and Tyler. He leaves to mourn his 7 brothers; Andy (Gail), David, Ron (Joan), Michael (Benny), Randy (Brenda), Gary (Sue), Brian (Pauline) and many nieces and nephews. Geoffrey was predeceased by his parents Andrew and Joan. A funeral service will be held on Saturday October 1st, 2011 at 10 am at the St-James Anglican Church, Compton. Rev. Canon Ron West officiating. Burial at the St-James Cemetery, Compton. Was called to heaven by the angels at the age of 82 on April 30, 2014 in Stanstead, Quebec. She is survived be her son Jeffrey Grandchamp and his wife Karen (Lebuis) daughter Francine (Waite) Bachman. Granddaughter Stacey(Bachman), husband Michael Lawton and children Ashley and Jacob; Gisèle Marie Therese Gramdchamp (Waite) W grandson Brian Bachman and wife Aimee and daughter Sydney; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Norman and Pauline Waite, Robert and Lorraine Waite, Gilles and Jacquline Waite, Richard Waite, Marcel and Dianne Waite, Laurent and (Liette) Waite and Mario Waite; sisters and brothers-in-law Jacqueline Giroux, Yolande and Donald, Benoit, Jeanine and Patrice Carrier, Claudette O’Malley and (Orville Anderson), Noel Viens, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends. She is predeceased by her husband Harold James Grandchamp; father Armand Waite; mother Cecile (Joly)son –in-law Stephen Bachman; sister Lise Viens; brothers-in-law Jack Giroux, Guy O’Malley, and Louis, Fred and Philip Grandchamp; sisters-in-law Margot Waite, Rita (Grandchamp) Schlough and Irene (Grandchamp) Bentley. She was born in Sherbrooke Quebec October 1, 1931, the eldest of fourteen siblings. She grew-up in the one room school house town of Capleton, Quebec and later attended school at the convent in Stanstead Quebec. She married Harold on November 22, 1952 at Saint Joseph church in Sherbrooke Quebec. They resided in Montville and Norwich Connecticut for th first fifty years of their marriage. She had dreamed of becoming a journalist but after a variety of jobs, she settled into being a mother and homemaker. She was an avid reader and fan of classic movies and television shows. She had strong spiritual beliefs for God and prayer. In 2002 the couple moved to Stanstead, Quebec where many special friendships were formed which she treasured and gave her much happiness. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, and will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Resting at the Cass Funeral Home, 545 Dufferin, Stanstead, Quebec Canada on Thursday, May 8, 2014, from 12:00 pm to 4:00 p.m. where friends and family may come to visit. A celebration of her life will take place in the funeral home.at 4:00 pm with Reverend Lise Kuzminska officiating. Donations in her memory may be made to the Research Hospital for Children, St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN U.S.A. 38105.The family of Gisele want to thank the friends and people of Stanstead for all the help and kindness given to her since the passing of Harold in 2012. Without you she would not have survived on her own. Stanstead is truly a unique community.
