Cherished sister of Monnie Kohl, Annie and Morty Goldman, Dr. Ben Karrel, Sammy and Eva Karrel, the late Gertie Ottman and the late Sylvia Chernin.

Robert Francis Andrews, 59, passed away at Mount Sinai Hospital, Montreal, on Tuesday, July 11, 2000, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born in Sydney, he was the son of the late Jacob and Annie (Osmond) Andrews.
He is survived by his wife, Beatrice (Deveaux); children, Frank (Donna), British Columbia, Brenda (Gary) Karis, Darlene, Montreal, and three grandchildren.
Also surviving are sisters, Maisie (Wells) Woodill, Halifax, Madeline MacDonald, Sydney River, Stella LeDrew, Sydney, Jeanette Sparling, Picton, Ont.; brothers, Jack, Westmount, Albert, Lodrick, Sydney, and Earl, Brampton, Ont.
Predeceased by sister, Dorothy Daynes and brother, Harold.
Funeral was held in Montreal Friday followed by cremation.
Interment of ashes in Sydney at a later date.
Mary Almeada (Sampson) Simard

Mary Almeada (Sampson) Simard, formerly of Florence, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 15, 2000, in Montreal.
Born in Florence, she was the daughter of the late James and Rose (Landry) Sampson.
She is survived by a daughter, Rose, two grandchildren, one great-grandchild, all of Montreal.
Also survived by five brothers, John (Evelyn), Joe (Rhobena), Frank (Bev), all of Florence, George (Donna) and Harold (Georgette), Big Bras d'Or; two sisters, Alice (John) Miles, British Columbia and Josephine MacLellan, Ontario and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, John, sister, Leona MacInnis, three brothers, William, Charles and Buddy.
Funeral and burial took place in Montreal.

In her 66th year from cancer in Montreal on Wednesday, May 17, 2000.
Loving mother of Will Campbell, Montreal; dear daughter of Evelyn MacLeod, Sydney; loving sister of Sonny MacLeod (Shirley), Halifax, Ken MacLeod (Carol), Truro, Pearl Goodman (Ray), Dartmouth, Bonnie Burns (Donald), Mira Gut, and Carol Reynolds (Sandy), Coxheath.
Cremation took place in Montreal.
Interment in the Baptist Cemetery, Mira Gut, with Rev. Willis Henderson officiating.
“Nita” will be sadly missed by all that knew her.

Irene Mary Bernard, 50, of Montreal, formerly of Eskasoni, died Wednesday, Jan. 5, 2000, at Hotel Dieu Hospital in Montreal.
Born at Sydney, she was the daughter of Mrs. Mary Rita AuCoin of Sydney and the late James Bernard.
She was a member of Holy Family Parish, Eskasoni.
Irene worked as a home care giver in the 1970's and 1980's in Eskasoni.
She is survived by one son, Levi, Big Cove, N.B.; two sisters, Rose Anne, Eskasoni and Nancy, Sydney.
She is also survived by her stepfather, Edward AuCoin, Sydney and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her long-time companion, Archie Brown, Montreal, a brother, Thomas and also by maternal and paternal grandparents.
The late Ms. Bernard will rest at the residence of her sister, Rose Anne Bernard, 4814 Shore Rd., Eskasoni after 7 p.m. Saturday.
Funeral mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday in Holy Family Church with the Rev. R. MacNeil officiating.
Interment in Parish Cemetery, Eskasoni.
Funeral under the direction of T.W. Curry Parkview Chapel, Sydney.

Peacefully at the Lakeshore General Hospital, Pointe Claire, Quebec, on Friday, Mar. 24, 2000, at the age of 81.
Loving mother of Stewart (Harriet), Karen (Peter MacWilliam), Allan (Sue) and Ellouise (Doug Bellevue).
Dear Nana to John, Darren, Kimberly, Scott, Tara, Brian, Michael, Caroline, Lindsay, Kelly, Shannon, Allison, Julia.
Dear sister of Bill MacDonald.
She will be sadly missed by family and friends.
Visitation was at Collins Clarke MacGillivray White, 222 Highway 20 (Exit 49 at Cartier) Pointe Claire, Quebec, Sunday, Mar. 26, from 2-4 p.m.
Service to be held in Funeral Home Chapel Monday, Mar. 27, at 11 a.m.
