KLATT - Ernie Klatt, late of Weyburn SK and formerly of Handsworth, SK passed away November 7th, 2001 age 79 years. Predeceased by his daughter, Linda; his parents: John and Florentina Klatt; five brothers: John, Ted, Albert, Louie and Karl, five sisters: Ida, Ann, Emilie, Minnie and Matilda. Ernie is survived by his wife, Ethel Klatt of Weyburn; his children: Bev (Ken) Doucette of Corning, Ron (Ruth) Klatt and their son, Michel of Handsworth, Barry (Bev) Klatt and their children: Alexandra and Nicholas of Regina; two brothers: Martin (Tess) Klatt of Lemberg, and Hank (Edie) Klatt of Regina; one sister, Ruth MacKay of Govan as well as many nieces and nephews. Service of Remembrance will be held on Monday, November 12th, 2001 at 11:00 a.m. at Zion Lutheran Church, Weyburn, SK with Rev. Virgil Anderson Officiating. VERNON GLEN ASHLEY - Born December 24, 1940 in Melville, Sask. Passed away from cancer October 15, 2001 in Hanover, Ont. Vern joined Swift's in Melville when he was 16 years old and stayed with the company until he retired in 1996 as Vice President. Left to mourn is his wife Adeline (nee MacIntosh), son Vernon Jr. Ashley and friend Kerry, daughter Heather Ashley and friend Don Bannerman, son Tyler Ashley, grandchildren Danielle, Jasmyn and Brandy. Also survived by his mother Freda Ashley of Oxbow, Sask. brothers Rod, Blair, John and sisters Faye, Sharon, Gwen and Jean. Predeceased by father John Ashley and brother Bryan.

BOWLIN - Alexander William Bowlin (Alec) passed away on November 2, 2001 at the age of 71 years. Alec was born in Arron District to Lucy and Bill Bowlin on June 14, 1930. He was predeceased by parents and sister Irene. Alec attended schools at Vesnia, Podolia and Pelly. He moved to Regina and worked at A n' T Grocery Store, then for CN and CP Railway, and retired from Regina General Hospital in 1994. Leaving to mourn his passing is his wife Francis; stepchildren Marie Hall, Delbert (Sherry), Edward (Dianne) Planz; four grandchildren; several great grandchildren; sister Elsie (Henry) Varin; nephews Terry and Dennis; brother Bill (Elsie) Bowolin; several sisters-in-law; brothers-in-law, and will be remembered by many friends, especially those at the Eureka Club, Turtle Lake Lodge and Pelly. The Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, November 6, 2001 at l:00 PM in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home. A Public Visitation will be held on Monday, November 5, 2001 at 7:00 PM in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home. Flowers are gratefully declined. CRONK - Norris Donald. May 18, 1907 - October 15, 2001. Was born May 18, 1907. He passed away peacefully October 15, 2001 at Lions Gate Hospital with his family by his side. He was predeceased by his loving wife Margaret and daughter Faye May. Survived by daughter and son-in-law, Delma and Dick Alexander, as well as grandchildren Karen (Paul) Reano, David (Heather) Alexander, Gordon (Shirley) Quo Vadis, Frank (Kathleen) Quo Vadis, Terry (Larry) Kitching and 12 great-grandchildren. Norris will be missed by his many friends and relatives, especially close friends, Mary Sutherland and Ed Klassen. A special thanks to all his friends at Hollyburn House, Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness, and the West Vancouver Senior Centre. Norris was a kind and gentle man who loved his family, walks on the West Van Seawall, watching sports, playing cards and doing crossword puzzles. The family expresses sincere thanks to the nurses and staff at Lions Gate Palliative Care for the dedication, care and kindness shown to Grandpa. No service by request. DARKE - Peter J. Darke, age 88 years, late of Regina, died on Friday, November 2, 2001 in the Pasqua Hospital. Predeceased by his wife Evelyn, Peter is survived by his sister Beanie Martz of Regina; brother Roy (Anne) of Winnipeg, MB; nieces, Valerie Martz, JoAnne Campbell, Lorna Krassie and Leanne Darke; nephew Peter Darke. Peter served with City Police Service for forty years, retiring as Inspector - Identification Branch. DECH - Richard, age 54 years, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, November 1, 2001. Predeceased by his brother, David; brother-in-law, WayneTataryn and father-in-law, Joseph Pastl. He leaves to mourn his devoted and loving wife, Elaine; daughter, Heather (Bob) Parker; sons, Trevor (Nicky) Dech and Ryan Dech; grandchildren, Jeremy, Samantha, Isaac and Grace; parents, Carl and Gladys Dech; mother-in-law, Marie Pastl; twin sister, Kathy (Don) Beck; brother, Bob (Joan-Gail) Dech; sister, Brenda Tataryn; sister-in-law Cheryl Dech; as well as numerous in-laws, nieces and nephews. He loved his wife and family dearly, providing them with love and generosity. He was in the truck salvage business for most of his life and successfully operated the Truck Boneyard Inc. for seventeen years. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and going to auctions. Even though the last eight years of his life were spent fighting with his disabilities, he maintained a positive attitude and a wonderful sense of humour. He was an inspiration to all who knew and loved him. A special thank you to the home-care workers, doctors and nurses who helped care for Rick. The family would especially like to thank Kathy Rydzik - your dedication to our family is a true gift from God. The celebration of Richard's life will be on Monday, November 5, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Balgonie, SK. There will be a reception to follow at the Balgonie Multiplex. All who knew and loved him are welcome to attend. BALOG - Steve H. Balog long time resident of Regina and Kipling Saskatchewan passed away at his retirement home in Summerland, British Columbia on Saturday, October 6, 2001 at the age of 79. He was born April 28, 1922 on the family homestead in the Bekevar district near Kipling, Saskatchewan. He leaves his loving family; wife Hazel (White) in their 55th year of marriage; son Douglas (Margo) Balog of Palm Desert, California; son Barry (Melainie) Balog of Sherwood Park, Alberta; grandchildren Marnie and Graham Balog both of Palm Desert, California, Amanda, Justin and Megan, great-grandchild Miya all of Sherwood Park, Alberta; sisters Clara Barta of Portage La Prairie, Manitobia and Martha Johnson of Ajaz, Ontario. He is predeceased by 13 brothers and sisters. A memorial service was held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 10, 2001 at the Summerland United Church with Reverend Lily Watson officiating. A graveside service will be held at Bekevar Presbyterian Church cemetery where his ashes will be buried.
