JELINSKI - Josephine (Joie) died peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital November 18, 2002 at the age of 91 years. Joie was born in Imperial, SK in 1911. In 1923 she moved with her parents to Regina where she lived her life to the end. She married Arnold in 1935. Joie was predeceased by her husband Arnold; parents Charles and Magdalena Klenk; three brothers in their infancy; brothers John (Margaret), Joseph (Helen), William (Nellie), Henry (Jeanette), Robert (Margaret); two sisters Mary and Emma Klenk, and daughter-in-law Bunny Jelinski. Joie is survived by five sons, Donald, Leonard (Loretta) of Regina, Gerald (Georgina) of Cochrane, Al (Dianna), Raymond (Karen) of Regina; three daughters Mary Anne of Winnipeg, Jo Anne RNDM of Brandon, Sharon (Walter) LaBrash of Regina, and brother Frank of Imperial; eighteen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Joie was very active in St. Mary's Parish. She was president of the C.W.L., served as Secretary and Treasurer on both the Diocesan and Provincial Councils, and co-chairman for the National Council. She led the daily rosary, directed funeral choir masses, and was a member of St. Mary's choir. Joie also spent many years catering for the church, weddings and senior citizen's activities. Joie's family meant everything to her which extended to caring for foster children as well. She loved her family. Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, November 22, 2002 at 10:00 a.m. in St. Mary's R.C. Church, 2026 Winnipeg Street with Rev. Lawrence Folk, Celebrant, Very Rev. Ken Miller and Rev. John Riffel, Concelebrants. Interment in Riverside Memorial Park. The family would like to extend a sincere thank you and appreciation to the staff of the Pasqua Hospital, Ward 3D and to the staff of the Emerald Personal Care Home. Flowers most gratefully declined. Friends so wishing may make donations, in memoriam, to a charity of their choice. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services.

LAVALLEE (Sparvier), Muriel Ellen (Mickey) - Born September 6, 1928, left this world peacefully on the morning of Tuesday, November 19, 2002. Our Matriarch was surrounded by her children and other family members on her passing. Mickey joins in spirit her husband, Ernest Vincent; 6 children, Shirley, Steve, Thedra, Freda, Michael and Richard; her parents Herb and Elma (Taypotat) Sparvier; brothers, Jerry, Crawford, Leslie, Robert and Terry; sister, Lorraine; sons-in-law, Gilbert (Gub) and Ed Comber; and, grandsons, Perry and SonSon (Colin). Mickey is survived by 2 sisters, Connie and Joan (Earl); 3 brothers, Thomas (Cora), Dennis (Bev) and Gary; children, Doreen (Ross), Carol (Phil), Brenda (Brian), Rhonda (Alvin), John, Mack (Darcia), Bonnie, Ken (Bridgette) and Patrick; son-in-law Clarke and daughter-in-law Melody; and adopted sons Rick Kopeck and Don Pinay. Mickey also leaves 54 grandchildren, 52 great grandchildren and numerous other relatives and friends. Mickey lived a full life and remained the strength and pillar of the Lavallee family. She will be greatly missed by all who were fortunate enough to have known her. Wake to be held at Cowessess Band Hall commencing at 4 p.m. Thursday, November 21, 2002. Traditional funeral service at 1 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2002, interment to follow at Cowessess cemetery.

NAGEL, Kasper,

NAGEL - Kasper passed away on November 20, 2002 at the age of 69 years. He was predeceased by his parents, Joseph and Mary Nagel; three brothers: John (Gertrude), Joseph at infancy, Leo (Gladys); two sisters; Martha (Walter) Johnston and Elsie Flegel. He is lovingly remembered by his loving wife of 45 years Pauline (nee Frei); three brothers: William (late Margaret), Fred (Ruth) and Gord (Darleen) all of Regina; two sisters: Clara (late Bernard) Breker of Regina and Ann (late Chuck) Horn of Victoria, B.C.; brother-in-law Mike Flegel of Moose Jaw and numerous nieces, nephews and friends. Kasper was employed at Pioneer Village Nursing Home for 25 years, retiring in 1992 after an illness that no longer allowed him to continue working. He battled through years of illness to which he lost his legs but his spirit continued throughout. Cap, as he was known by his family and friends, enjoyed helping people. He was active for many years in the St. John Ambulance Service until his illness. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus for over 20 years. He was a Red Cross blood donor and donated many hours working for the organization. Cap loved to socialize and was an active member of the Regina Senior Citizens Centre. There he spent hours playing cards and shuffleboard while visiting with his many friends. These were his favourite pastimes. Cap and Pauline were always very gracious hosts, welcoming friends into their home where Cap loved to visit and play cards. Both he and Pauline had a very active social life with many friends who lived in the senior's apartment complex where they resided. Cap and his winning smile will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him for his positive attitude and his sense of humour. These strengths were always evident even throughout the gravest times of his illness PRAYERS will take place at Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East on Friday, November 22, 2002 at 7:30 p.m. FUNERAL SERVICES will be held at Holy Child Roman Catholic Church, 2636 7th Ave. East. on Saturday, November 23, 2002 at 10:30 a.m. with reception at Regina Funeral Home, Arbor Room following interment. Donations in Cap's memory may be made to Canadian Diabetes Association, 4420 Albert Street, Regina, Sask, S4S 6B4. Arrangements are entrusted to Regina Funeral Home (789-8850).

BELLROSE, Edith Marguerite - after a brief battle with Cancer passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on October 26, 2002 at the age of 81. Predeceased by her husband, Glenford Bellrose. Beloved mother of Delvin Bellrose (Sheila) of Moose Jaw, Sask., Diane Clark (Donnie) of Coronach, Sask., Connie Frisk (Laverne) of Bengough, Sask, Linda Spooner (Glenn Foster) of Campbell River, the late Eddie Bellrose (Giselle Fafard) of Willow Bunch, Sask., Debbie Spooner (Dan) of Campbell River, and Perry Bellrose (Melanie) of Campbell River. sadly missed by numerous Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. Edith was an elegant lady with a zest for life and a capacity for unconditional love which endeared her to everyone she met. Edith will be greatly missed by her presence will always be felt. The family would like to invite friends to join them in a celebration of Edith's Life at a memorial Service to be held at the Campbell River United Church on Thursday October 31 at 1:00 p.m. Luncheon to follow at the church. Interment to take place at Coronach, Saskatchewan on November 4, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers Donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Alzheimer's Association would be appreciated by the family.

DAWES - On Sunday, October 27, 2002 Doris M. Dawes passed away peacefully at the age of 87 years, at Balcarres Integrated Care Center, Balcarres, Sask. She was born in Lorlie, Sask. on May 11, 1915. She married William Large in November 1939 and lived on the family farm in the Abernethy district for many years. When Bill died in 1968 she moved to a house in Abernethy, enjoying retirement by gardening and welcoming friends with home baked goodies. She married Fred Dawes in November 1973 and continued to live in Abernethy until 1998 when they moved to Regina. Doris was predeceased by her second husband, Fred, in January 2002 and by her only brother, Herbert Holloway in May 2002. Doris will always be remembered with love by her family and daughters Margaret (Gary) Clement, Eagle Bay, B.C., Betty Pattison (David Jarocki), Richmond, B.C.; four grandsons, Jason (Nanci) Pattison, Jared Pattison, Quentin Clement, and Kelly (Kim) Clement, and two great-grandchildren Dray Pattison and Teagan Clement. Doris' passing is also mourned by her step-family: Faye (Gerry) Meyer, Creston, B.C. and their family, Barbara (Eric) Tischer, and their sons, Barrhead, Alta., Ian & Liz Hartle and their family, Fort Qu'Appelle, Sask. She also leaves numerous sisters and brothers-in-law, nieces and nephews, and special friend and caregiver Dorothy Dunn, Regina. Doris was a valued member of the Knox United Church U.C.W., Abernethy Order of the Eastern Star, and the Abernethy I.O.D.E. Doris and her second husband, Fred, were also tireless supporters of the Abernethy Agricultural Society and looked forward to the Abernethy Fair every July for many years. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held on Thursday, October 31, 2002 at 3:00 p.m. in Knox United Church, Abernethy, Sask. with Rev. Mee officiating. Cremated remains will be interred at Abernethy Cemetery proceeding the Memorial Service. Flowers gratefully declined. As an expression of sympathy, donations to a memorial fund at Knox United Church will be gratefully received.

MEADOWS - GERALDINE BERNICE (nee Dickin) December 26, 1924 - October 29, 2002 Passed away peacefully in Richmond General Hospital after a brief illness. Born in Manor, SK and predeceased by her parents and her husband Bill, she is survived by her sister Estelle (Norman) Parks of Nanaimo, three sisters-in-law and many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. Gerry was very involved in a number of community organizations including Eastern Star, Amaranth, Cancer Society and Heart and Stroke Association. A memorial service will be held on Friday, November 1st at 10:00 a.m. in the chapel of Ocean View Funeral Home, 4000 Imperial St., Burnaby, B.C. Reverend Kozak officiating. Donations in Gerry's memory may be made to the charity of your choice.

MITCHELL - Elizabeth (Bessie) passed away on Oct. 29, 2002 at the Centennial Special Care Home, Esterhazy, SK. at the age of 90 years. Bessie was predeceased by her husband Jack in 1974, 3 infant sons, brothers: Jim and Bill Key and sisters: Dolly Hogan, Margaret Ballendine and Dorothy Lennox. She leaves to cherish her memory her daughter: Jean (Don) Hood of Esterhazy, SK, 4 grandsons: Donnie (Maureen) and their sons: Matt and Will of Lumsden, SK, Greg (Julie) and their sons: Graham and Justin of Toronto, Ont., Jeff (Sherri) and their children: David, Karlyn and Anisley of Minneapolis, MN. and Brad of Esterhazy, SK. In 1935 Bessie married Jack Mitchell a student minister of St. Andrew's College in Saskatoon, SK. They lived in 15 different communities in Saskatchewan and Manitoba during his career as a United Church minister. Bessie assisted him at Youth Camps playing the role of cook, councilor and playground supervisor. In the winter she shared Jack's love of coaching hockey. Funeral services will be held at the St. Andrew's United Church, Esterhazy, SK. on Sat. Nov. 2, 2002 at 2:00 PM, with interment to follow in the Esterhazy Town Cemetery. Friends so wishing may make memorial contributions to the Centennial Special Care Home, Box 310, Esterhazy, SK. S0A 0X0 in memory of Bessie Mitchell as tokens of remembrance.
