OLESEN - Olive passed away on Monday, September 23, 2002 at the Lumsden and District Heritage Home, Lumsden, Sask., at the age of 89 years. She will be missed by her son Jim (Mavis) of Regina; daughters Elaine (Arthur) Anderson of Lumsden, SK, Eleanor (Dom) Grona of Medicine Hat, AB and Audrey (Dick) Yee of Swift Current, SK. Olive is also survived by nine grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren and four sisters Mary (Ross) Wells, Dorothy (Charles) Duthie, Janice Bobryk and Peg (Gerry) Hamilton. She was predeceased by her husband Chris, parents; daughter Joan Beverley and brother Arthur. Olive was born in Waldeck, SK on March 18, 1913. For 25 years she managed the Pioneer Co-op lunch counter. During that time she made many friends and will be greatly missed. The Funeral will be celebrated on Friday, September 27, 2002 at 2:00 P.M. in St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 108-2nd Ave. NE, Swift Current, SK. with Rev. Rob Hardwick, officiating and Rev. Arthur Anderson, assisting. Prayers will be held on Wednesday, September 25, 2002 at 7:00 P.M. in the Chapel of Lee Funeral Home, 3101 Dewdney Ave., Regina, SK. The family would like to thank the staff of the Lumsden and District Heritage Home for the loving care and attention given to Olive during her stay. Flowers are gratefully declined. Donations may be made to St. Stephen's Anglican Church, 108-2nd Ave. NE, Swift Current, SK. S9H 2C7 or to the Lumsden and District Heritage Home, Lumsden, SK, S0G 3C0. BAISI, PEGGY - Margaret, Evelyn Dumas Baisi (Gemmill), 81, of Regina, passed away peacefully in the Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital, on Friday morning, January 10, 2003. She was predeceased by her parents, Dr. L. W. Gemmill and Wynne Gemmill, and her sister, Shirley Meyer. Peggy is survived by her son Neil and grandsons Jean-Gabriel and Louis-Philippe of Ottawa; sister Betty Westmoreland and niece Cherie Westmoreland of Regina, and nieces Kim and Leslie, and nephews Dale and Greg of the United States. She is lovingly remembered by dear friend Jenny Horvath. Peggy was born in Wolseley, lived for some time in Ontario, and spent most of her adult life in this city. She spent the primary part of her working life with the federal Department of Indian Affairs Office in Regina and was well-loved and remembered for her warm and generous heart. She kept the books for a family business, loved the cottage on Pasqua Lake, and took great pleasure, in her later years, in her feline and canine friends. Unknown to the world like most of us, she was known to her friends and family - a good person, in some ways ahead of her time, who did no harm. A worthy achievement. No funeral or memorial service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation in her name can be made to the Regina Palliative Care Unit, Pasqua Hospital, 4101 Dewdney Avenue, Regina, S4T 1A5. Condolences for the family can be sent c/o Helmsing Funeral Chapel 2210 College Avenue, Regina, S4P 1C6.

BEVERIDGE, Beatrice May,

BEVERIDGE - Beatrice May, died peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital in Regina on Wednesday, January 8, 2003 at age 94. May was predeceased by her father Richard Henders at Oxbow, Saskatchewan in 1935, her mother Caroline Beatrice (Swain) at Carrot River in 1963, her brother Art at Arcola in 1953, an infant daughter Janet Ruth at Esterhazy in 1945, and her husband Thomas McLeish Beveridge at Regina in 1997. May is survived by her son Daniel Murray and his wife Angelina (Dizon) of Regina, son John Richard and his wife Cleo (Holmlund) of North Vancouver, and four grandchildren Ruth Michelle and Daniel Dizon Beveridge, Ian Edward Schaan and Bree Elise Beveridge. May was born in 1908 in the Boscurvis School District south of Oxbow, Saskatchewan on the farm where her father had homesteaded in 1885. She was raised there and in Oxbow, went to Normal School in Regina, taught school for a year and graduated in 1930 from the University of Saskatchewan in Saskatoon where she met Tom Beveridge. They married in 1933 when Tom was ordained as a minister of the United Church of Canada. As a "preacher's wife, " May was the second member of a pastoral team serving rural communities in Saskatchewan for over 40 years, 14 pastoral charges in all, including Mortlach, Carrot River, and Carry-the-Kettle First Nation. May was particularly involved in education and youth work in the Church. She also helped to establish regional libraries in rural communities. May shared Tom's love of nature. When Tom retired in 1973 they moved to Regina where they researched and self-published two family history books. Since Tom's death, May has lived in Pioneer Village. She was grateful to the staff and all the fine people who cared for her there. May remained involved in the church and her United Church Women's group. A memorial service to celebrate May's life will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at Wesley United Church, 3913 Hillsdale Street, Regina. Her cremated remains will be placed with those of her husband in Riverside Cemetery at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations in May's memory may be made to the Mission and Service Fund c/o Wesley United Church.

DiPAOLA - On Wednesday, January 8, 2003 Domenico DiPaola, born March 7, 1953 in Civitanova, Italy. Domenico leaves to mourn his beloved wife Angie, sons Anthony and Sandro, and daughter Miranda; parents Antonio and Maria DiPaola; brother Felice; sister Teresa (Natalino); brothers Enzo (Stefania), Michele (Alesandra), Vincenzo (Monica) residing in Italy; mother and father-in-law Francesco and Marisa Ranalli; brother-in-law Greg (Cheryl); sisters-in-law Rita (Orazio), Carla (Rod); as well as numerous nieces, nephews and very special aunts and uncles and close family friends. Domenico enjoyed the simple pleasures in life including family, good friends, and laughter. He made many friends with his involvement within the Italian Community. We will all miss him. Flowers gratefully declined. Memorial donations may be made in Domenico's memory to a trust fund set up at CIBC, Normanview Shopping Centre Branch, 322 McCarthy Blvd. N., Regina for Anthony, Sandro and Miranda's education. Prayers will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2003 at 7:00 p.m. in Holy Trinity R.C. Church, 5020 Sherwood Drive with Sr. Adua Zampese presiding. Funeral Mass will be held on Monday, January 13, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. in Holy Trinity R.C. Church with Rev. Paul Dungan Celebrant. Private family interment in St. Anthony's Mausoleum in Regina Memorial Gardens. Arrangements in care of Speers Funeral Chapel and Crematorium Services.

HANSEN - George Martin Hansen. March 17, 1940 - December 29, 2002. Cherished forever in our memories. George passed away peacefully on the morning of 29 December 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Born in Bracken, SK, he graduated from high school in Rock Glen, SK, in 1957 and University of Minnesota in 1962. George spent the next 13 years in radio and television in the U.S. and Canada. In 1973 he joined Saskatchewan Wheat Pool; then Government of Saskatchewan for 111/2 years on the Executive Council, Saskatchewan Agriculture and as Director of Public Communications for Saskatchewan Highways & Transportation. George was a business owner, avid hockey and baseball coach for little league and rodeo announcer. Predeceased by his father, Lawrence, in 1992 and brother, Kenny, in 1994, George is survived by his mother, Elizabeth Hansen; his wife of 32 years, Sharon Hansen; daughters Linda (Emory II) Simons and Laurie (Dwayne) Bigstone and son, Carey (Bev) Hansen. George has 6 grandchildren: Chris and Curtis Bigstone; Staci, Emory III and Carli Simons; Desire Hansen. A memorial service will be held in Orkney, Saskatchewan, in early 2003.

She was predeceased by her loving husband Hassan and her brothers Adeeb and Najeeb. Maza is lovingly remembered by her sister Hifa, her daughter Karen and son-in-law Steve, her son Joe and daughter-in-law Joanne. "Siti" will be missed by her grandchildren Kamal, Shad, Adeeb and Tammy Shoranick and Joey, Jamie and Jessica Houssian. Maza was born in Radville, Sask. in 1922, she lived in Brandon, Man. and Rockglen, Sask. before retiring to Kelowna in 1980. A service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2003 at 1:30 p.m. at Springfield Funeral Home, 2020 Springfield, Kelowna.

JACQUIN - ANDRE "ANDY" ROGER passed away at home on Monday, January 6, 2003 at the age of 67 years. Andre as born in Kincaid, SK and raised on a farm in Mankota, SK. He moved to Regina in 1960 and began a long and rewarding career, first as an electrical motor mechanic and then later as a diesel fuel injection mechanic. Andre was predeceased by his parents Camille and Georgine. His is survived by his sister Jeanne (Ray) Masse; brother Paul; mother of Andy's children Shirley; children Nikki and Steven (Anne); grandchildren: Joran, Rhea, Tanis, Jaimin, Trefor and Brandon; and life-long friend Rollie (Clara) Fauchon. MEMORIAL SERVICE will be held at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East, on Tuesday, January 14, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. Memorial tributes in Andy's memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Saskatchewan, 2360 2nd Avenue, Regina, SK, S4R 1A6. BALFOUR - Beverly Jack Balfour of Hanna, Alberta passed away peacefully in his sleep Wednesday, January 1, 2003 at the age of 53 years. He was born December 15, 1949 at Wolseley, Sask. to Jack and Georgina Balfour. Bev took his schooling at Maple Green and Lemberg schools. He moved to Alberta in 1970, working as a salesperson at many places. His love of hunting and farming was great. In 1972 he married Irene Sumlak of Olds. Bev is survived by his loving wife Irene of Hanna, daughter Shonna (Brett) Beattie of Medicine Hat, two sons; David (Lee Ann) of Taber and Patrick (Le Ann) of Lethbridge, three grandchildren, his mother; Georgina Balfour of Lemberg, Sask. Sister, Jyl (Frank) Szeman of Lestock, Sask. and their sons Shane and Blake. And one brother, Rodney of Lemberg, father in law and mother in law, Cliff and Ivy Sumlak and many friends and relatives. He was predeceased by his father Jack Balfour in March 15, 1994. A memorial service will be held Saturday, January 11, 2003 at 2:00 P.M. at the Lutheran Church, 1002 3rd Street West, Hanna with Pastor Frank Netter officiating. If friends so desire, memorial tributes may be made directly to the Hanna Hospital or the Canada Diabetes Association, #101 4826 47 Street, Red Deer, Alberta, T4N 1R2.
