Notice dated: 12/14/2002
Regina, SK
MUZ - EDWARD.On Thursday, December 12th, 2002, Ed Muz, 69, passed away with honour and dignity, just as he led his life. Born July 18th, 1933 to Nettie & Trofim Muz. As a young man Ed was employed with the Dept. of Highways and then became a computer analyst retiring from SaskComp in 1987. Ed's retirement plans were hampered soon after with a massive heart attack resulting eventually in a very successful heart transplant in 1992. This miracle and his relentless positive attitude afforded 10 extra healthy and fulfilling years to do things he loved best. He loved to putter in his large garage, build, tinker, fix and invent. He was a curler, lawn bowler, wood carver, excellent at target shooting and above all, a collector. Most important to Ed were those who survive him: his loving wife of 44 years Sylvia (King), his 5 children Laurie (Tim) McGeough, Cheryl (Sergio) Coppola, Craig (Lori) Muz, Wade Muz & Dean Muz. Also his 10 beloved grandsons and one granddaughter: Matt, Cam & Jacob McGeough, Marco, Marcello & Lia Coppola, Josh, Joel & Jason Muz, Taylor & Connor Muz. Ed is also fondly remembered by a number of in-laws, cousins and many special friends. Ed & Sylvia were constantly attending sporting events, recitals, and hosting Sunday suppers in order to share in every important event in their children and then grandchildren's lives. Ed's sense of humor, support of his family, perseverance & kindness towards others was second to none. The family is forever grateful to Dr. Gebhardt for his support & expertise and to those staff at the hospital wards Ed frequented for going above and beyond. A Celebration of Ed's Life will take place on Wednesday, December 18, 2002 at 2:00 p.m. at the Regina Funeral Home, Hwy #1 East. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation, 2360 - 2nd Avenue, Regina, SK, S4R 1A6 in Ed's memory.
