The death of Suzanne Marie-Ange Jungman, age 60 years of Duck Lake, SK occurred on May 12, 2014. She is survived by her: husband Alexandre Jungman; children and grandchildren: daughter Jenny (Jason) Bedwell and their children, Tierra and Hannah; son Allan (Tanya) Jungman and their children, Aidan, Kalyn, Halle and Ethan; son Adrian (Kim) Jungman and their children, Ashton and Ty; sisters Marie-Jeanne (Marcel) Kirouac, Cécile Morin (Dale Delorme), Raymonde Gérardy (Eric von Thuelen); Step-Mother: Alexandrine Gérardy and numerous other family. She was predeceased by her parents Robert and Noëlia Gérardy; grandchild David Jungman; and in-laws Raymond and Agnès Jungman. A private Prayer Service will be held for family. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Cuong Luong on Friday, May 16, 2014 at 2:00 P.M. at Blessed Sacrament Roman Catholic Church, Duck Lake, SK. Interment of her ashes will take place at Our Lady of Lourdes Shrine, St. Laurent Cemetery. Arrangements are in care of Funk’s Funeral Home, Rosthern, SK.
Elma Bergen
April 6, 1928 – May 8, 2014
Elma Verna Bergen passed away peacefully on May 8, 2014 at the Mennonite Nursing Home in Rosthern. She was the daughter of the late Emma and Cornelius Friesen and was also predeceased by her brother John Friesen. She is lovingly remembered by Bill, her husband of almost 65 years, her children: Valerie (Cal) Strom, Sandi Bergen, Bill (Marcia) Bergen, Lorna (Steve) Duncan; her grandchildren: Tim (Carolyn) Strom, Daygen Strom, Sarah (Dan) Chajka, Mitch Strom (Jesse Haga), Jonathan Bergen, Hannah Bergen (Peter Kazman), Tori Duncan, Kieran Duncan; and her great-grandchildren: Annika and Linnea Strom. A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, May 12, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. at Nutana Park Mennonite Church, Saskatoon with Rev. Anita Retzlaff officiating. The death of Eugene Loewen, age 80, occurred on May 8, 2014 at Rosthern Hospital, Rosthern. He is survived by: wife, Mary Loewen; children: son Bryan (Tammy) Loewen and their children Aaron, Dawson, daughter Bonnie (Mario) Guillou and their children Jordan, Chloe; daughter Tammie (Dave) Unger and their children Alyssa, Emily (Jason) French, Matthew, Andrea; daughter Tarri (Steve) Ostapak and their children Zoe, Abigail, Gretchyn; siblings Marjorie Rempel, Irma Love, Doris Major, Archie (Carolyn) Loewen, Judy (Dennis) Abel, and Tom Loewen. He was predeceased by his: parents, Peter and Helen Loewen; sister Rita Loewen; brothers-in-law Peter Rempel, Bill Love, and Harry Major. Elizabeth Ann Vaadeland
April 25, 1935 – May 6, 2014
Elizabeth Ann Baker-Isfeld-Vaadeland was born on April 25th, 1935, to Rhoda and Lawrence Percival Baker. She grew up in McCreary, Manitoba, with her brothers Phil, Don and her sisters Jean and Beverly. She loved living at the foot of Riding Mountain National Park and enjoyed a rich childhood with her loving family.
Ann passed away peacefully on May 6th, 2014 at the Royal University Hospital. She is predeceased by her husband Peter Vaadeland.
Ann, as she was known to her family and friends, is survived by her three children – Neal Isfeld, Marvilyn Armstrong and Elizabeth Weigle. She has five granddaughters – Ashlee Isfeld, Jessilee Armstrong, Jaimee Isfeld, Kiralyn Armstrong and Karlee Isfeld. Ann was thrilled to have spent time with her great grandson, Brighton Isfeld Boyko.
Ann enjoyed a fulfilling career as a teacher and retired from thirty-eight years devoted to the profession in 1990. After retirement, Ann pursued her love of writing and recently had stories of her life published in an anthology. Her family and friends were thrilled to receive these prolific writings that celebrated a life filled with adventure and a great love for family.

The death of Sheila Anne Matsalla, age 79 years of Rosthern occurred at Royal University Hospital, Saskatoon on May 6, 2014. She is survived by her loving husband, John Matsalla; children: Gene-Marie Ennis (Earl Shaw), Gwen (Kevin) Sproule, Audrey (George) Watson, Kelly (Patti) Matsalla, Kathleen (Nick) Ropson; 14 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren; siblings and spouses: Carol Burghardt, Janet (Wayne) Gress, James Terrence Enright, Colleen (Bernie) Blouin; sisters-in-law Mary Ann Enright, Rosemarie Enright; and brother-in-law Charles de la Riviere. She was predeceased by her: siblings, Walter Enright, Dennis Enright, Margaret Enright, Pat (Agnes) Enright, Bernadette de la Riviere, Tom Enright. A Prayer Service will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 at 7:30 P.M. at St. Odilon Roman Catholic Church, Rosthern, SK. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Philippe de Neri Roman Catholic Church, Vonda, SK. Burial of ashes will take place at Rosthern Cemetery. Gilda Eby
March 18, 1922 – May 3, 2014
Gilda left us for her heavenly home on May 3, 2014. Mom passed away peacefully at Saskatoon City Hospital, having lived for a very full 92 years.
Gilda was born to John and Frieda Klaassen on March 18, 1922, and was raised on a farm in the Tiefengrund area, north of Laird, SK.
Gilda married Martin Eby on October 19, 1950, and they farmed together at Laird until Martin’s passing in 1982, at which time she moved to Saskatoon. They had two children, daughter Marilyn (1951), and son Milton (1953). During her time in Laird, Mom was active in St. John’s Lutheran Church, in curling, and in various charities. After moving to Saskatoon, Mom became active in Resurrection Lutheran Church, The Widow’s Club, YWCA (especially aquasizes), five-pin bowling, lawn bowling, and various charities. Mom enjoyed travelling, and travelled across Canada, throughout the USA including Hawaii, and to Mexico, England, Ireland, Australia and New Zealand.
Gilda was predeceased by her infant brother Willy, parents John and Frieda, husband Martin, and sister Hertha Kampen and brother Curt Klaassen. Left to cherish her memory are her daughter Marilyn (Lance) Moen, grandchildren Jaime (Stacey) Schroeder and Scott Moen (Susan Mutch), great-grandchildren Sydney and Alexis Schroeder; son Milton (Audrey) Eby, step-granddaughters Tanya (Omar) Spence, and Andrea (Ashley) Nadeau, step-greatgrandsons Aidan and Nylan Spence and Tyson and Hudson Nadeau; brother Oscar Klaassen and sister Dora Klaassen, and nieces and nephews and their children.
The family wishes to express their thanks for the compassionate care provided by the staff at City Hospital Transitional Care Unit and also the staff on 7th floor at St. Paul’s hospital. We also appreciate Luther Heights for providing Mom a safe and loving home for the past ten years.
